I just hope the next major update comes out a little bit quicker. Now that matchmaking is out of the way let's get Asteroid and Cactus Canyon.
The fact that they did not give an "end date" for the WAR makes me worry honestly
Pyro and Heavy have core problems that run deeper than simply changing numbers around. Setting aside time to specifically focus on those core problems is entirely reasonable.
Not really when those core problems existed for more than 5 years. They should've delayed the matchmaking update until they got those right.
Not like we would've known anyways, Valve is always quiet.
Just got done playing casual. I got in a match in like 15 seconds, so that was nice. One was a CTF game where there was only two minutes left on the clock, so that was a waste of time, but the second was a full game of payload, and that was fun.
But two things really bothered me.
- The locked POV is messing me up big time. I don't really see much of a point either. If 90 POV gives you an advantage, it's not like the ability to change POV is locked behind a paywall or something. It gives me a headache at 55 or whatever it's at (I used to be at 90).
- Fixed first person mode for death spectator feels additionally pointless and the POV for spectator is like 7. I have to look away while dead because I felt dizzy because the view was so close. I don't see a reason for no third person in casual. It's casual. We had a dance party while pushing the cart after we team wiped.
Also the Prinny knife doesn't crit glow. What is this, 2011? I also almost gained 100 points for team Pyro... while playing Heavy.
For what it's worth, Jesse did some digging into the files, and the way Valve structured this WAR (code wise) allows for them to very easily set up more wars. Specifically, there's no protobufs relating to a Heavy/Pyro war; there's just generic WAR protobufs, and they have an associated ID. Heavy/Pyro is ID 0.
This either means that some programmer was just future-proofing the system because they're a smart programmer, and/or they have plans for more wars in the future.
It's taking me a long time to find a casual match with 2 people queueing.
I still havnt gotten to play the new maps yet do to the new casual, also the way it gives xp is stupid,
I joined a match seconds before it ended, killed 3 people spawn camping and got 119 xp, the I played a full match got like 45 points, tying for top score, and got nothing
It's a bit early to think about that but what if 2016 festives were just festivizers that work all decorated weapons, plus australium and botkillers? :v:

Yes, I've always wanted to look at gun attachment vomit.
That's not how it works, though - if your team captured all points, the next team also has to capture all points. They don't win just by "capping the first point a few seconds faster" - they have to capture your last point faster than you captured your last point.
If it didn't work this way, how would you suggest ties be broken when both teams capture all points?
Just as an addendum, if the first attacking team (A) doesn't cap all points, the second attacking team (B) has two win conditions: the first is to cap all X points capped by A faster or, if they can't meet that condition, cap X+1 points.

It would be interesting to see what Valve had in mind for the reserve shooter.
I imagine what they had in mind was to remove the minicrits when airborne stat on the Pyro and make it instead minicrit burning players, which actually would make it even more ridiculous.
If they legitimately wanted to just straight up buff it stat-wise, then I am at a loss for how they haven't heard the complaints about it being too good then and how such a thing would be viewable as a nerf.

Maybe the spreadshotting Pyros thought the removal of being able to mini-crit airborn enemies as a whole was too much.
Since it's just too difficult to press M2 on an enemy, throwing them into a predictable arc for a 180 damage meatshot.
Sarcasm intended, but in all seriousness I really wish they'd stop listening to complaints before actually seeing what the problem is and trying it themselves.
It's how you get stuff like the current state of Phlog...
if they really wanted to revamp the reserve shooter's stats, they aughta make it
+The less ammo your primary has, the higher damage it does
+can deal up to 30% more damage at 0 ammo
-33% clip size
+can now be equipped by heavy (with a hot hammer and sickle paintjob)
it would also have the name make sense with it being the reserve shooter and all
They may have been basing it off of usage statistics. I hardly ever see the RS used, even if it is a great weapon
They may have been basing it off of usage statistics. I hardly ever see the RS used, even if it is a great weapon
I guess that would explain buffing the Pomson's close-ranged damage instead of nerfing it into oblivion like it deserves, since it hasn't been used particularly often in pubs as of recently for whatever reason despite it's ludicrous benefits, as well as the substantial buffs to the Quickiebomb Launcher when it was already better than the Scottish Resistance.
They may have been basing it off of usage statistics. I hardly ever see the RS used, even if it is a great weapon
I thought they would have learned their lesson in that regard by now.
Yes, I've always wanted to look at gun attachment vomit.
and then you can craft the botkiller weapon with the australium weapon and if they both have festivizers it gets festivized

this is him.
This is the employee who initially buffed the phlog.
put him in a quarantine and send him away to dota/csgo please.

I'm not mad because they made the Phlog overpowered, but because they ruined the only flamethrower I enjoyed using afterwards. I don't play Pyro at all now.
God b4nny has too much power.
The difference is the last two war updates gave something for both classes, for whatever reason, this is going to stagger the updates for each class AND give them re-balancing which should've been there in the first place. It's a stupid idea.
Especially when we expected this to be the big balance update that shook the game to its core.
I'm going to guess even when pyro/heavy gets their update, it'll do nothing significant to change the meta.
I've played the best game of my life in casual...0 exp points

Lol of course all the new r/tf2 people rate dumb, b4nny is their idol', and he's an asshat and he can single handedly change the course of the game. Fuck him nobody deserves that influence.

He's a 6's meta elitist

it seemed like you replied to my post directly. When I said "this is him", I meant Valve, not banny.

You have absolutely no idea what change b4nny did and did not effect. Calm down.

He plays the game for a living, he knows what he's doing, even if it's more centered around comp than precious pubs (where balance REALLY matters!!)
The issue isn't that he has power, it's that no other community member does. Even his friends poke fun at him because none of them can get in contact with valve, meanwhile he has a direct line on everything. He tells them you just have to keep reaching out to them, but the truth is you have to catch their eye which is hard to do without being A. considered #1 by majority of comp, or B. Know a guy
If you check out twitter a while back you could see clockwork, lange, all kinds of people calling out how dumb it was only one guy was being considered the ambassador of the community rather than a group. That's in no way b4nny's fault.
So when is the Pyro vs Heavy going to end?
My guess is on christmas

He has no love for anything not 6's. He doesn't care about the comics, lore, casual side, trading or any otger part of the community and it's frustrating that he can just tell valve not to do something and they listen.
He also doesn't give a shit about non meta classes

Hi, not a new r/tf2 "people".
Please get over yourself. Reserve Shooter doesn't need a buff or a nerf, in my opinion.
