You know what could be a nice little option for comp? Rematch option that after ending the game asks the players from each time if they want to play another match in this squad and then creates a party out of them. Because it's so fucking difficult to find competent people and when you do it's bang five minutes and it's over.
alot of text
I'm all for freedom and diversity in class pickings, but simple class stacking is cancerous, if every game consists a team having four or five demomen steamrolling whatever they're against, you have to admit theres a problem and how unfun it could be on the side getting the bombs, same with soldier's all around strengths in power, mobility, and crowd control I'm not saying nerf them into uselessness, I'm trying to say make it so either the other non competitivly played classes can be more useful or try to equal everyone out to a level where soldiers and demos don't dominate every game that isn't 6's also why is the demoman's secondary actually his primary at this point?
Someone found out all the levels in Casual, there are 150. http://imgur.com/a/hqgGa
Someone found out all the levels in Casual, there are 150. http://imgur.com/a/hqgGa
I wish they'd stop using those tier colours. The pink, purple and red don't look good with the rest of TF2's palette.
a new lobby system should solve alllllllll the problems. you can select your class in the said lobby and most importantly you can communicate with people who are in the lobby with you. you won't be able to see players' names until you choose a team (which can prevent stacking, you also won't be allowed to change your team after names reveal) what do you think guys?
Not being able to queue up with friends, not a stack, but 1-2, is a terrible idea. How am I supposed to teach my new friends ways of competitive? Edit: People can just tell you their names. And if you'd like voice chat in the said lobby, it'll confirm it even more.

I've only had one gripe with the update, and that's the fact that you cant vote whatsoever in casual. I'd love to be able to scramble teams or change a map in casual.

I'd love to be able to scramble teams or change a map in casual.
I especially hate that votekick is disabled I can see why they did it, since casual had the abandonment penalty and valve intended 'casuals' to play a game from beginning to end with the same teams but the penalty wasn't enough to deter quitters and the lack of votekick made hackers into a horrible "suffer or abandon" scenario
Valve needs to add map rotation to casual. Instead of getting booted at the end of a game, let it continue to the next map in that gamemode. You will still gain XP after every match, but players get to easily continue on to the next game without having to search for a whole new server of players. Allow players to vote the next map as well.
Someone found out all the levels in Casual, there are 150. http://imgur.com/a/hqgGa
A bit underwhelming
Im suprised they havent added ability to choose next map (without map you just played, basicaly casual CSGO has) or any more votes like vote kick or vote scramble (CSGO has both, and more) And sad thing is, we already had few updates farter the major one
Votekick and votescramble are sorely needed in casual. Once a match has been made the players should continue together in a lobby. There should probably be map votes as well, just like, I don't know, every other FPS game with a matchmaking lobby system.
Did anyone created a poll to see which side FP users are with in the Team Heavy or Pyro event?
thoughts on casual matchmaking -Stopwatch mode for payload/attack defense maps. Having whichever team caps the final point earlier be the winner is fine, assuming both teams do cap the final point. But ending games at the first CP because the first attacking team capped nothing is stupid as hell. Just have the entire map be played and use stopwatch rules for tiebreakers.
It gets worse. Assuming you were able to rush the first cap, should you take too long it becomes pointless to even try taking the second cap. All you need to do is wait to lose the round and go all-out defense for one-two minutes and you win.
Did anyone created a poll to see which side FP users are with in the Team Heavy or Pyro event?
Yup, it was pretty much: 60% Heavy 40% Pyro And then magic happened on TF2 contradicting that poll, so something fishy is going on.
Yup, it was pretty much: 60% Heavy 40% Pyro And then magic happened on TF2 contradicting that poll, so something fishy is going on.
It could also mean that Facepunch doesn't represent the TF2 community as a whole.
It wouldn't surprise me if valve rigged the voting results for this war, if I remember correctly they did for the first one.
It wouldn't surprise me if valve rigged the voting results for this war, if I remember correctly they did for the first one.
knowing wich team is already winning already rigs it towards that team. let alone the well known fact that pyro is a far more popular class both in-game and community wise.
Someone found out all the levels in Casual, there are 150. http://imgur.com/a/hqgGa
The Casual levels look a hell of a lot better than the competitive ones.
It wouldn't surprise me if valve rigged the voting results for this war, if I remember correctly they did for the first one.
According to this blog post, the results of the WAR were: Demomen: 6,372,979 points, Soldiers: 6,406,065 points. Another blog post announced the prizes of the Propaganda contest. The 1st and the 3rd places gave 50,000 and 10,000 additional WAR points to Soldier, respectively; the 2nd place gave 25,000 WAR points to Demoman. If it wasn't for this contest, the Soldiers would have 6,346,065 points, while the Demomen would have 6,347,979 points.
Most of the facepunch users who play TF2 would have plenty of experience and understand that heavy needs rebalances and deserves an update more than pyro - however the majority of TF2 players are just kids. They play pyro, they want to see their favourite character win. It has nothing to do with it being "rigged". It's also important to remember, the war %'s don't show how many people picked what, but the total number of points each team has contributed.
Someone found out all the levels in Casual, there are 150. http://imgur.com/a/hqgGa
Neat, I'm currently 8% of the way! Wish me luck lol Personally I don't care though who wins since it seems both are getting something regardless out of the WAR. Everyone will win in the long run at least... Well, I hope at least...

im afraid of what the tf team will do on these changes honestly. so far they have proved to be really bad at balance on an almost constant basis.
I've looked at the player-numbers and its upsetting, really. Afaik, Gun Mettle managed to push the playerbase up to 100k, while this one seems to have lowered it...

Mind if I ask what the Heavy Vs Pyro percentages are at the moment? I'm on vacation, with no access to TF2, so I'm unable to check myself. :v:

And I guess it was a little upsetting the "Casual" side of the update, was just casual competitive. It must of turned a handful of people off.
