Honestly, I'm only leaning towards Heavy if only because Pyro has always had more focus. I mean yeah, Pyromania didn't give him a full set, but it was still an entire update basically focused around the Pyro.

Pyro's gotten a couple updates by now afaik while heavy sits at I believe one update based around him
Not everyone wanted the competitive aspect (I being one of them since I don't really care for 6s).
And I guess it was a little upsetting the "Casual" side of the update, was just casual competitive. It must of turned a handful of people off.
Pyro: 53%
Heavy: 47%
I do have a small feeling that a bunch of people are going to band together, and make the polls lean towards the Heavy at the end.
I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.
I've looked at the player-numbers and its upsetting, really.
Afaik, Gun Mettle managed to push the playerbase up to 100, while this one seems to have lowered it...
Waiting 20 minutes to join a Valve server might have something to do with people not playing the game for the time being.

Not to mention first impressions while negative to a lot of people, I have been seeing a lot of people come around afterwards saying that they do in fact enjoy things like casual matchmaking after they gave it a shot.
Give it a few more days IMO
Also Pyros have bigger sub groups leaning towards it and of course there's the whole "Pyro is broken" big group.
And play style too, you'll see more Pyros than Heavy in general.
Waiting 20 minutes to join a Valve server might have something to do with people not playing the game for the time being.
Well it's nowhere near 20 minutes now, closer to like 1-5 minutes
Well it's nowhere near 20 minutes now, closer to like 1-5 minutes
It varies wildly. Sometimes it'll take me 3 minutes, sometimes 25.
Regardless, a lot of peoples first impressions when playing the new matchmaking service are waiting considerably longer than it should to join a normal game. That will turn a lot of people off until they know it's 100% fixed.
When the queue time gets fixed the update will be finally well received
so anytime MM takes longer than 2 minutes we're supposed to "experience a bug"?
well then it's really buggy right now
This is a big nitpick but isn't the hammer and sickle a symbol of Soviet Communism? Heavy is a counter-revolutionary so it wouldn't make sense for him to parading that around.
The family business already has it so I guess he doesn't care.
Are unusual hatless hats bugged? Someone put a bubbling texas dome shine on the market and I used that opportunity to inspect it in game to see this:

Makes me think of the Unusual Axe demo has that doesn't actually have an unusual effect... Honestly, why hasn't that weapon been turned to "Haunted" quality yet...

Most of my matches seem to connect under 1 minute. It has improved dramatically over it's initial release as well. Just gotta be a little more patient I guess... =/

Wtf since when was the shin able to be unusual wtf
since any past non-tiered/restricted hat can be obtained in unusual/strange quality in the last update.

The hatless hats don't have a proper bone for a particle to attach to, so they will just attach to the spine, I can't tell from that image but I bet if you move around the particle effect will look like it's coming out of the stomach area.
Wtf since when was the shin able to be unusual wtf
The hatless hats can come from the respected class unlocked crates.
What other hats can now be unusuals

I actually emailed eric ( I think, his email is eric@valvesoftware.com correct? ) on it, not the biggest issue, but it doesn't seem like an entirely difficult one to fix either, although I could be wrong since I don't model or create stuff like that myself. They couldn't just add a bone to the object that was invisible to attach the effect to couldn't they?
People do put money down to get items, and they should at least address this to be fair to people who unboxed them no?
What other hats can now be unusuals
I'm pretty sure now every hat can be as long as it isn't discontinued/promotional and is craftable. I'm sure it's intended, but they didn't fix the bones.

miscs to or just hats, and what about the point n shoot?
miscs to or just hats, and what about the point n shoot?
It'll only be just hats because that's what unusual effects are intended for.

Think it's possible to get a Nebula Merc's Mohawk by chance?
Think it's possible to get a Nebula Merc's Mohawk by chance?
The only items that can have nebula as an effect are the invasion cosmetics.

So far, the only new ones I can find is that slim dome, and ^^
What the hell is up with the shortstop? Why does the scout now have an infinite airblast? Isn't knocking people back the one good use of the FaN?
everything about this update seems ill conceived.
If you listen to the fully charged podcast vod you can see the things valve was trying to do in the update regarding balance. Some things were changed because of comp input (cozy camper), some things were experiments to see what would happen, and some things weren't changed (DDS) because they didn't want to change too much in one time/didn't have a good alternative/etc.

I can see no good reason to make the Buffalo Steak have 25% damage vulnerability, even if it was a bug, that thing could have no damage vulnerability at all and it still would be garbage.

I think it's more balanced for medical mode tbh

Yeah, that's probably the most useful place to use it. More so when paired with KGB.

Clearly you've never charged full tilt into a group of enemies, Buffalo Steak'd while wielding the Fists of Steel.
Pyro does deserve an update more than Heavy though. Heavy is in need of new weapons and playstyles more than Pyro, but the Pyro's core mechanics are literally broken, his primary weapon does not even function properly.
Heavy needs new weapons more but Pyro needs a rework of his entire class. Though I still think it's completely fucking ridiculous that we have vote for which class receives balance changes, balance changes are not content, having everything function and work properly is the bare minimum of what you should expect out of a game trying to be taken seriously as a competitive esport.
