Valve may recognize their mistakes, but they certainly have yet to prove that they ever learn from them. They're as obstinate as ever on many fronts.
Did Valve remove the dom system? Because I don't think I've seen them come up at ALL, at least in Casual
Kinda there with you, but I can't shake the feeling that Blizzard really is barely any better. Sure they give more fucks on the surface, but they seem too self-congratulatory and absolutely not objective of their accomplishments. Valve knows when they fucked up, Blizzard will just spam you with tweets telling you to play a hero immune to taking damage if there's something OP in the game and be proud of the fact that both of those things exist. Grass isn't greener in Greenland etc.
Blizzard reply on Twitter to people who just installed the game that are complaining about Bastion because they can't figure out how to not walk in front of him. It's like when you started playing and you thought Pyro and Heavy were super threatening classes but after somebody explains why they aren't and gives you a way to work around their massive weaknesses they become easy to deal with. Blizzard have actually done a decent job so far at nerfing characters that do actually have balance issues and they do have a lot of internal discussion about hero balance. They also actually comment on the changelogs and tell you what their reasoning was behind each of the changes that they've made and will often let players know how sure of each change they are and leave the changes open to discussion to possibly be revised on in the future.

Which is Overwatch in general and why it sucks. Howgh.
It just brought up my minisentry PTSD and all the people saying they're just fine and that you're just playing the wrong class. Which is Overwatch in general and why it sucks. Howgh.
If you're going into Overwatch with the TF2 mindset that you should just be able to pick whatever class you want and be fine the whole game then that's the wrong outlook to have on it. The game is built around switching heroes to counter other ones and it works just fine because that's the mechanic they've structured the entire game around. Being hardcountered by minisentries as Scout and Pyro shouldn't be acceptable because in TF2 there are only a fraction of characters to choose and it's expected that you should always be effective as any one of them. I guess the bottom line is that in TF2 people play the game to play whatever class they want and have fun with that but in Overwatch the objective of winning as a team is emphasized more than the individual player, so you're encouraged to choose a hero that will help your team out, fortunately there are 21 heroes people can pick from so they can usually still go with one they enjoy playing while still filling a needed role, whereas people don't tend to do this in TF2 because if your team needs a healer then the only option is Medic and you might not enjoy playing Medic so you won't bother playing him.

And not left as is for an entire comp meta to form around them for years.
Did Valve remove the dom system? Because I don't think I've seen them come up at ALL, at least in Casual
No I got 2 in one match (typical I get dominated twice, not dominate 2 people, but I'm not complaining) Oh hey, I didn't realize I have 100 posts now :)
id be afraid to make changes too if every time a problem is solved I got my shit metaphorically kicked in for changes that are better for the game remember the stickybomb nerf?
And heavy has received the same amount of bullshit nerfs that still stuck for some reason, I wonder why.
Can the Dr Dapper Topper be unboxed strange from the new crate? Edit- oh boy now I can have a Dapper Dr Dapper Topper
-snip i fixed it-
Again, I applaud to the people that stay in the game when their teammates tell them to screw off because apparently only they matter and jump ship / abandon the game. Anyone else getting put into a team all full of Fresh Meat while the opposing team is full of actual ranked players?
They need to bring back vote kick in casual matchmaking, waaay too many cheaters now
TF2 really needs better weapon selection. When selecting the default shotgun for example, it should then let me choose a random option or let me pick my desired decorated shotgun. Or the red-tape recorder as another example, I select that and can then choose the genuine, default or strange if my backpack has them in it. Otherwise the current item selection can be a bit of a pain (I know there's a search, but that's not the point) [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/65370244/shotgen.png[/t] It'd be a lot nicer if I could only see weapons by different stat so I can initially see all the options that matter, and then perhaps right click to choose a random one from the pool, or left click to precisely choose the desired weapon skin/quality. I'd much rather it look like this [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/65370244/shotgen2.png[/t] (Sorry if this post is a bit ramble-y, I'm a bit too tired)
I like how at the beginning when Heavy had like 60% of the vote everyone here was sure he would win... hehehe :v:
So, I keep hearing that the Quickiebomb is busted now?
So, I keep hearing that the Quickiebomb is busted now?
It's just not what it used to be. It's pretty much a upgraded sticky bomb launcher rather than its usual old rapid fire self. It needs the fast-fizzle back, because now it renders the other sticky bomb launchers rather redundant.

TF2 is absolutely designed for players to switch class based on the situation. Need to hold the last point? Get some engies and heavies. Need to break through that engie nest? Get a soldier/demo and medic, or get a spy to sap it. Sniper picking you off from afar? Get a counter-sniper. TF2 is definitely not designed for every class to be effective in any situation, and certain classes are meant to counter others. Of course, a lot of people aren't willing to switch classes when the team needs it anyway, because they are bad teammates. Unfortunately for various reasons, TF2 has kind of attracted a super casual playerbase over the past few years who don't care much for playing the game as intended. With this update I have literally seen people who complain that casual matchmaking even involves "winning" and "losing" and think casual should just be a place to dick around with no regard for the objective like it's a 24/7 orange_x server. (And bad teammates who refuse to play anything but their favorite hero aren't exactly unheard of in Overwatch, anyway.) I do agree that playstyle variation helps with Overwatch, though. There are a couple of different ways to play Medic, but they are all mostly variations on "latch onto people with your medigun and never stop healing unless something's gone wrong or you need to ubersaw a spy in the face." Having alternate healer classes with differing playstyles would probably help motivate people to switch, because there might be a healer with a playstyle they like.

The biggest one being having 8 stickies before having to reload being the main one for me. But yeah, I actually liked how it was before the buff as well. I don't really feel it needed the changes it received. Maybe just have given it the faster charge shot perhaps?
So, I keep hearing that the Quickiebomb is busted now?
I dont even know why they touched it, it was perfectly fine before. But now its been buffed to the point its a starting to feel like a flat upgrade. Which means next patch it's going to get babyfaced to uselessness.
I used to really like the Quickiebomb, but I don't really like it anymore. It runs out of ammo too quickly to be useful for what it was originally designed to do. So you have to use it like a regular sticky, and if wanted to use regular stickies, I'd just use them
you can det quickies in less then 0.5 now i think which makes the demoman using them even more annoying to fight against quickiebomb's gonna turn into DDS 2.0 if they don't do something about it
you can det quickies in less then 0.5 now i think which makes the demoman using them even more annoying to fight against quickiebomb's gonna turn into DDS 2.0 if they don't do something about it
IMO the shorter clip and the charge times needed for maximum damage on the quickiebomb launcher balances it out perfectly. Since spamming your entire clip is going to leave you defenceless and if they are charging stickies for the maximum damage from them it will take around 1-2 seconds per shot, leaving them open for attack.
being forced to hold down mouse1 for the quickie is a dumb gimmick and contradicts the fall-off system. back when they fixed the 2 seconds fizzle into being really 2 seconds, there it was perfect. it's just turning into another BFB right before our eyes.
Valve needs to fix something with the xp cause i just had the closest comp game ever which I won as medic got a gold in healing and everything AND GOT 0 XP AND IT DIDN'T EVEN RECORD IN THE HISTORY. No one abandoned no one did anything except one person who left but came back seconds later.
I think there's some kind of lag on the XP system. I played one match which ended up with no XP, but after a few games it appeared in the history and then I got the XP.
Speaking of the smissmiss 2014 weapons that got changed, the iron bomber is so fun to use would have definitely used it more if it had a strange beforehand the buff was nice too
Are some of the new Stranges bugged? I can't find any Strange Sandviches or Strange Iron Bombers on the market. I even listed a Strange Sandvich of my own but it won't show up.
