I hate the word "toxic" so much, please stop applying it to TF2 as well
:toxx:
they cuold just prevent cut/pasting into chat and remove the say command from console but before you go "BUT MY MEDIC UBER BINDS" if you're a medic use your mic if you have one a medic with no mic/communication outside of binds is a bad medic
I hate the word "toxic" so much, please stop applying it to TF2 as well
Would you say that the word "toxic", in itself, is also toxic?
When MUS is so bored they start arguing about binds....
I was thinking what if they buffed heavy's HP and made him immune to OHKOs? something like 350 HP~ and was left with 50 HP on any attack that would kill him in one hit.
I was thinking what if they buffed heavy's HP and made him immune to OHKOs? something like 350 HP~ and was left with 50 HP on any attack that would kill him in one hit.
350hp doesnt make him immune to Spy or Sniper.
Honestly if I ever make a community server anybody who uses any kind of bind would be instabanned. No exceptions.
There's some pretty funny images in the 'things people say in TF2' thread where the server owner banned anyone if they spammed lenny faces more than once. They also replaced "rekt" with "kittens".

I don't know about that. I think a combination of Feroaffer's ideas and allowing Heavy to jump while revved and shooting would be best. Heavies with pinpoint tracking accuracy should be rewarded with greater and more consistent damage than what the class is currently capable of, while at the same time punishing those with inadequate aim. Tangentially, I've also learned at this point in my seven years as a loyal consumer to never give Valve the benefit of the doubt--in anything. I wanted so earnestly to have my faith restored in a company I once adulated, but time and time again I'm left spurned and needlessly penalized for my dedication. I was beguiled into believing Gun Mettle was a turning point, only to see a year later that it was nothing short of an anomaly. I'm sorry Valve, I still love Team Fortress 2, but it will be a miracle if I ever extend that same fondness to its caretakers. I'm not mad really; rather, I'm melancholy.
I'm kinda hoping for the CS:GO miracle to happen. You know, at first, relatively alright popularity. Then proper Matchmaking happens (This Update!) and then - the cherry on the cake - Rewards for MM.
to fix heavy secondaries you just make it so you can switch weapons anytime you want, even during spin-up (literally no other class has this limitation) to fix general minigun effectiveness you revert the love&war ramp-up garbage to fix the general lameness of newbie heavies / multiple-heavy rush, you revert the April 28th 2010 spin-up movement buff to fix unlocks, well you fix unlocks and now we're closer to a balanced, self-efficient heavy (sorry for balance talk, but it really got relevant even to MUS)
I'd like to point out that robin has 6x as many hours in dota 2 as tf2....
Robin also doesn't work on tf2 anymore, was hilariously in favor of soldier, and I think got fed up with the community constantly spamming him and holding him personally accountable for every tiny grievance they had with tf2, poor bastard. I still remember him flipping a shit during Christmas one year
I'd like to point out that robin has 6x as many hours in dota 2 as tf2....
I thought TF2 was stuck at 440 on purpose as a joke on the app ID. Also, keep dev versions in mind too.
I really would like to know their circuitous and ultimately irrational reasoning behind refusing to ever outright revert their horrible decisions. When their duct tape doesn't patch the leak, they never unravel the tape and apply epoxy or FIBER FIX--no, they just pile on more and more duct tape and call it a day until the duct tape invariably fails yet again. Valve, we're way beyond a point where anyone considers you infallible, or alternatively, thinks you operate under some grand vision. We know you just fly by the seat of your pants, so it's better to admit when you err and roll back to a better build until a superior solution is concocted. AND it's better to crowdsource those solutions (and not merely consult one member of the community), particularly when it comes to balance, since you've proven 9/10 times that all of your answers are ineffectual. With the Crit-a-Cola, all you had to do was reapply mini-crits taken during the buff. The Scout's additional speed and damage output should be more than enough to offset the potential damage incurred, which is the entire point of the Scout class in general. He sports less overall HP in favor of speed and mobility to help avoid danger that other tankier, but slower, classes cannot. This is a common sense remedy that took less that two seconds to conceive, and would take only five minutes to test. You took three years to come up with two measly seconds of marked-for-death, which is ultimately meaningless when the Scout has already managed to kill his opponents with eight seconds of speed and mini-crits.

Honestly if they want TF2 to get to be an "esport" theyll have to make it a lot less complex.
Not to forget all the domination lines.
why would they add domination lines for an update centered around a mode where they disable domination lines...
Honestly if they want TF2 to get to be an "esport" theyll have to make it a lot less complex.
With the amount of HUD elements on the screen now due to Casual/Matchmaking, I imagine would be very overwhelming to new players. And don't even get me started on PASSTime.
350hp doesnt make him immune to Spy or Sniper.
i mean like a hidden perk, where damage dealt to him doesnt exceed 300
I'd like to point out that robin has 6x as many hours in dota 2 as tf2....
Robin hasn't worked on TF2 since 2013 so this makes sense, why is anyone surprised by that.
Honestly if they want TF2 to get to be an "esport" theyll have to make it a lot less complex.
melee is a huge esport and is significantly more complex than TF2 is
melee is a huge esport and is significantly more complex than TF2 is
And how are you quantifying complexity here?
melee is a huge esport and is significantly more complex than TF2 is
Competitive Fighting games and Competitive FPS's are entirely different. They attract different audiences, and different kinds of players. One big thing with fighting games, is how you can port them to consoles without needing to dumb down the game. That allows for a much bigger audience, unlike FPS's.
I thought TF2 was stuck at 440 on purpose as a joke on the app ID. Also, keep dev versions in mind too.
It's at like 270
Things required to be a pro in TF2: Good reaction time, a quick method to get rid of enemies and a Medic 3 feet up your ass.
and people think it needs to be less complex
The only thing I think makes competitive TF2 complicated, I suppose, is the number of players to keep track of, and that's only really a problem in Highlander.
And get rid of all the nonsense hidden attributes of weapons like the minigun's hidden bullshit nerfs
