They are odd with the wording of the casual matchmaking. They mention "matchmaking is changing the way you CAN play tf2"
Where did you find this on the page?
I found it on the Competitive FAQ
So i thought this schedule on the updates, and know that these are just guesses
Day 1: Introduction to the Competetive update
Day 2: New Taunts and cosmetics
Day 3: buffs and debuffs?
only two days
Welp. Goodbye community servers. I'll be surprised if FirePowered's TF2 presence lasts longer than a year. Our populations right now are basically zero, and valve has already made it clear that they don't intent to keep any of the promises they made to community server owners.
They have said there will be additional benefits for community servers coming with GLSTs. Willing to bet it willl be Casual pool access?
only two days
I fixed it sorry.

Im looking forward to the balance changes
Is there still hope for cactus canyon and rd_asteroid?
Is there still hope for cactus canyon and rd_asteroid?
Day 2 exists, but if it doesn't come out now I'm going to be positive it will stay in beta hell for a long time (or forever)
I gotta say, the update page render is so beautiful that I'll give them a pass for taking so much time.
Guys.
We are free, it's finally over.
But the question is
is the update neato?
Is there still hope for cactus canyon and rd_asteroid?
Maybe tomorrow, doubt it though
Also, on casual matchmaking, considering the title for that section said that quickplay is getting an update, I imagine the server browser will still be there for old-fashioned community servers.
But will never get random people coming in from Quickplay. That's actually a potentially huge problem.
No mention of the word "neato" anywhere on the update page. What a relief.
A: If you are unable to associate a telephone number with your Steam account, you can purchase a lifetime Competitive Access Pass from the Mann Co. Store. When the Meet Your Match Update goes live, you will be able to buy the Pass at an introductory discount rate of $9.99.
Cheaters and smurfs have to pay money GG
Actually I tested a few VOIP services and it worked (on CSGO), also, you can easily get another phone number
I'd love something other than 6v6 in Matchmaking TBH. It wouldn't force us to play the generalist classes most of the time.
The quickplay skill level thing has me seriously worried. There are some days when I want to just goof around with silly loadouts or just aren't up to playing at my peak level, and this means I'll constantly be matched against other thousands hours players so it'll be impossible to actually relax while playing quickplay. Now my only option will be to go to dead community servers or become a total tryhard unless I want to just get demolished because I leveled my "skill" up too far and am matched against the unusual soldier medic friends team while I'm goofing off with Buffalo Steak Heavy.
The wait is finally over, we don't have to fight each other like what happened on the last thread. now we can all be happy and see if this update is actually neato my friends. :excited:
APPARENTLY this leaked

It doesn't have any class limits or weapons banned. I don't know if you've played much of the current matchmaking, but that means the meta is blown wide open - I still see Heavies more often than not and a lot of counterpicking.
You heard it boys, let's start climbing those trees your banana-eaters and beat the crap out of those dolphins!

Yeah, it's still just as bad.
To put it the way the Co-Owner of FirePowered put it...
[11:56:10] <McKay> goodbye TF2 the community game, hello TF2 the "never play with the same people twice" game
"vote for who gets the rebalance"
What if this means the old style of playing will be only found on community servers instead of valve pubs now, thus giving them life again for those who want the classic drop in drop out free nature of playing?
I'm afraid that the casual audience large majority will be rather interested in "pub-leveling" instead of dropping in/out from regular old style pubs.
Add that crap trade/achievement/strange leveling servers will never disappear (IMO) and the good ol' friendly pub servers are going to get the hardest blow ever.

Id love 9v9, i never wanted to pick up comp before valve decided to package it neatly into an update, cause before it seemed like a hassle
