Guys. We are free, it's finally over.
Free from auto-balance curse.
I hope we will get 9vs9 eventually. I get the point of 6vs6, but still.
Heavy will build giant wall to keep little baby men out.
The quickplay skill level thing has me seriously worried. There are some days when I want to just goof around with silly loadouts or just aren't up to playing at my peak level, and this means I'll constantly be matched against other thousands hours players so it'll be impossible to actually relax while playing quickplay. Now my only option will be to go to dead community servers or become a total tryhard unless I want to just get demolished because I leveled my "skill" up too far and am matched against the unusual soldier medic friends team while I'm goofing off with Buffalo Steak Heavy.
Assuming it is like CS:GO, it will just be EXP levels that won't change who you get matched up with.
APPARENTLY this leaked no confirmation of it being real yet
So instead of nerfing heavy and pyro, we'll get to choose which one to nerf fascinating! EDIT: Don't listen to Heavy, do NOT vote Heavy.
Q: What if I can't or don't want to provide a phone number? A: If you are unable to associate a telephone number with your Steam account, you can purchase a lifetime Competitive Access Pass from the Mann Co. Store. When the Meet Your Match Update goes live, you will be able to buy the Pass at an introductory discount rate of $9.99.
That's actually terrible. They're making people who don't want to give out their info to anyone pay in order to play the game mode. That's locking out part of your playerbase behind a paywall. Pretty much everybody saw that coming but not that way. This comes out as a way to force people into giving their phone numbers. Either make everyone pay or don't, this is terrible practice, not to mention the ridiculous price. Also I have yet to understand why associating a phonen umber with your account helps prove player accountability.
Also, this is what the tape player plays when engie rewinds backwards, courtesy of reddit.
APPARENTLY this leaked no confirmation of it being real yet
Considering how Heavy's arm sticks out this will probably be the image for tomorrow's blog post.
If it's real, I hope both classes still get balance changes and it's not a "vote for who to fix", hopefully it's closer to something like the Demo vs Soldier war.
Rest in peace community servers...
APPARENTLY this leaked no confirmation of it being real yet
Cactus Canyon for pyro (cause' it's a dry place and all that) and rd_asteroid for heavy (cause' Russians love the moon)? :v:
The demoknight looks really out of place on the update page
So it looks like we probably will get a war update, it's just not the one we expected.
I wonder if both will get the new weapon. Because IIRC wasn't the gunboats meant for both in Soldier Vs. Demoman but only the winner got it?
So it looks like we probably will get a war update, it's just not the one we expected.
Who gives a shit who vs who, WE'RE GETTING NEW WEAPONS IN THE NEXT UPDATE!
The winner will probably get a shotgun (?) this time
The winner will probably get a shotgun (?) this time
Reserve shooter for the Heavy.

And even your Social Security number if you want to sell over 200 items on the market per year. So if you are concerned with giving Steam your phone number, then you should be concerned about using Steam in the first place.
The winner will probably get a shotgun (?) this time
come to think of, soldier is on that post as well... maybe it is shotgun related
Reserve shooter for the Heavy.
Heavy throws little baby man in air and shoots him with tiny baby gun.

Also I have yet to understand why associating a phonen umber with your account helps prove player accountability.
The reason behind using a phone number with your account helps player accountability is that in order to play again you have to use a new phone number, which is not cheap to get. (as everyone associated with that phone number is banned if one is VAC'd.) I suspect 10$, being discounted, is not the final price. Instead, the final price is 15$.. same price CS:GO players have to play in order to cheat in competitive. Or use a phone number and have to pay decidedly more than 15 to get a new phone number.
Rest in peace community servers...
The people who used community servers will still use them and the people who didn't will still not use them. This isn't going to change anything.
FINALLY I CAN DRINK also god damn i'm excited for war 2.0
APPARENTLY this leaked no confirmation of it being real yet
its real, its the blog image of day 2.
What are we hoping for the balance changes part?
Well, with comp comes a larger playerbase which means Valve potentially paying more attention to TF2 again. Let's see where this heads. Don't care much about the comp itself, but I'm excited to see if the game will finally see the end of this update drought. Valve, here's your chance to redeem yourselves.
come to think of, soldier is on that post as well... maybe it is shotgun related
Don't worry. We only left out the engineer.
Look, this isn't a banana simulator, people.
Still think Engie should have gotten a war.
