People are ganging up against pyro when all we want is the class's core mechanics not to be bug-riddled anymore.

Pyro 2016
Feel the burn
What is this casual mode going to do for non-comp modes without timers that could basically last forever?
Stuff like Hightower, or even 2Fort. Games can last hours, and nobody is going to sit there for that long and play 2Fort casually.
I'm not sold on this casual matchmaking at all. Seems to run counter to TF2's design of jumping in and playing whenever, and I can very easily see this drastically altering how often I play TF2 (since I usually play in 10-20 minute spats)

I'd be curious if the arrangement of matches makes some sort of code.
I'm kind of surprised they didn't make a "Good Game" handshake taunt for competitive. Where they put out their hand to shake, and say things along the lines of "man, that was a fun match, look forward to seeing you again" or "great game! Can't wait to have another one!".
Maybe too similar to the high five taught perhaps?
it was because nobody actually says "gg" and means it

The match furthest to the right has been lit, so maybe. Or Pyro just got bored.
Personally, I just really want to see rd_asteroid get out of beta.. It's a favorite of mine, so I'd love to see a fully art passed version of it. Plus I'd really love to see all the story explained behind the map, like why the mercenary's are in space.

Heavy mains in the "War.20" Update
I'm curious as to know what possible reworks are coming to the classes if it's going to be Heavy vs Pyro
Consistent damage output for flame particles.
Real knockback for compression blast.
What fucking ever for the rest of the Pyro's arsenal get those first two out the door first before deciding what else gets changed or we'll get cases where a weapon that was fine on its own gets neutered like the Axtinguisher.
Abolish the hidden accuracy and damage rampup in favor of consistent figures.
Allow switching from Minigun while it's spooled. Would create flexibility to allow him to disengage from a fight or use a different weapon. This could be reverted in the case of the Sandvich as a balancing option because really it's absurd how strong it is compared to his others.
Pyro needs to be consistent and not rely on combos meanwhile Heavy needs to be capable of functioning independent from a Medic up his ass and have some capacity to survive outside of "commit or die."
There are a lot of approaches to their classes but these core things are probably unanimously agreed-upon good things that could add depth to their respective classes without overpowering them against other classes.
We need Donald Trump hair for Heavy and Hillary and Bernie hair for Pyro. Only then can this be a true matchup.
It would be cool if there was taunt that had all classes standing behind a podium saying a line . There would also be something that you can associate with that class on the podium, like pyros matches
Now if only they could reduce the default lerp from 100 ms to 15 or lower. Having the default lerp can actually put you at a disadvantage vs people who have it customized, which sucks.
As a Medic main, I am grateful for all the meatshields to hide behind in the coming days, but terrified of the countless number of Pyros that will come after me.

Politics? IN MY TF2!?
HOW DARE YOU!
This is the beginning, I hope, of making heavy the fierce tanking class that he once was. Make heavy great again
Only thing I have to complain about the update right now is that they announce it way too early on day 1. Now it's gonna be AN ETERNITY to wait 'til actual launch tomorrow evening :v:
I literally stop looking at this thread for a minute and go in-game, and it's happening? Holy shit.
Also, I'm hoping for some sweet balance changes Day 2.
It's very possible this isn't going to be like the last WAR. I don't think these classes are balanced against each other well enough for that.

I don't think that there's a single match-up that would work well at all, never mind as good as Soldier vs Demoman. It's a shame.

I like the idea that it will be based on points rather than outright kills. Both classes are good supports to their teams and if they aren't fragging opponents themselves, they still rack up quite a few assists.

Anyone else notice the Demo with the Stickybomb hold animation?
(This is probably because his "primary" is the Stickybomb and "secondary" is the Grenade Launcher in SFM)
I personally really like the idea of them adding a Casual 12v12 Matchmaking option for Valve servers, as that means more seasoned players should be able to avoid the experience of having to try and salvage something on a team with 6+ kids and beginners and a bunch of friendlies and AFK-ers. Also helps said beginners as they're mostly matched against people of low and moderate skill so they can improve without getting destroyed by people way above their level. Not too worried about stacked teams of friends, as teams of 5+ coordinated friends queueing together should be eventually matched into 'higher-average-skill' Casual servers instead of thrashing teams of uncoordinated randoms around their own individual skill level.
The thing that surprises and worries me, though, is that they didn't keep a sort of ''Free For All'' Valve server option for those that wanna goof off with weird loadouts, or don't mind facing or playing with people of very different skill/experience levels.
Whether this will actually help the remaining no-bullshit community servers by providing them with a steady traffic of people that are craving for the 'old' TF2 pub experience is very doubtful at this point. I hope there's some sort of prominent, very noticeable place for a ''Play with a mixed bag of familiar faces and autobalance on Community servers'' option in Quickplay - that would be the only way to allow them to regain some traffic.
If not, Quickplay's redesign will likely drive nearly all existing and future players away from the regular server browser and community servers even more and thus facilitate the death of proper TF2 server communities and the transition to the ''play with total randoms or queue with a few friends at best'' model that all newer FPS games and other MP titles are using, unfortunately.
Casual Matchmaking very well might significantly improve the Valve pub experience for guys that just want some semi-reliable teammates and sort-of-even teams that have fun by trying at least a bit, but totally sacrificing the last proper community pubs and the option to play in a random FFA Valve pub with weird loadouts and sometimes hilarious antics is a bit much.
Even as a guy that's campaigned for a basic Matchmaking rework of 12v12 pubs, I definitely support them keeping some old-school autobalance Valve servers and featuring community servers in QP prominently if they can.

Winner of the WAR! 2 gets to be integrated into the 6s meta. loser is removed from the game.

Heavy is a big fat mistake

Even better the losing class is removed Heavy wins and we all go home happy.

As long as they attempt to make heavy more viable against spam/jumpyfuckyouscouts/sniper I'll be happy
What are the chances we see a main menu redesign being shipped? With all these gamemodes it would be pretty nifty to have buttons for whatever you're in the mood for rather than hunting through the new prompts.
As a heavy main that hasn't played the game in over a year:
