The Love and War weapons were not the norm. New weapons very, very rarely ever got achievements. Stuff like the Rainblower, Crit-a-Cola and L&W weapons are the exception, not the rule. The vast majority of non-class update weapons do not have achievements. Even some class update weapons lack achievements!
