Major Update Speculation V31: Gamechanging Edition

All they have to do is make a silver skin that's slightly more common and call it Papua New Guinium or something. It's not that hard.
People are still playing Mann Up consistently 2 and a half years after the last new tour. It's still profitable.
I'd be all for a new type of Australium if it meant - let's be real here - for the first 24 to 48 hours they all become shiny pieces of pink and black checkered error textures.
We're not even asking for new MVM maps.
not worth it if it takes 2+ years.
I made quality missions in under a week including throughout testing and feedback. there is no excuse.

except new mvm maps already exist?

It's not like they even have to shift their developer focus when the community has literally made entire maps and missions and cosmetics and loot and handed it to valve and said "please ship this", and valve is still dodgy on the idea. outright ignoring iron gauntlet while talking to the mayann guys telling them what they should do to try and get the update made

i always wanted a silver australium type of weapon that was made with a fuckton of refined, which would rapidly deflate the economy
So you guys want the intern working part time on TF2 to:
1. Work on the overdue optimization update
2. Work on matchmaking
3. Work on a new MVM mode
4. Prepare for the mayann update
5. and update all the hats to all-class
all at the same time?

I mean yeah it would be nice but I'd be just fine with a new tour on the current 6 maps. The newer 3 are still really underused.

wat
I mean valve being hellbent on developing new maps themselves for 2 new tours straight. Not community stuff.

Snowshoe never exclusively said people want valve made mvm maps, I don't think anybody minds community mvm maps so long as they're properly tested and functional

I wonder if this means that Valve is going to roll out the final version of comp matchmaking with the summer update/campaign.

Wonder if they'll try to coincide it with overwatchs launch or wait till June/ July to hit the summer sale after the overwatch hype dies a lil

Someone says this literally every time a tf2 update is speculated, and every time it's never released the same time as something else
a la half the summer/holiday sales and every dota update

Some context: He's apparently been visiting Valve. Obviously he's been shown or seen some shit.

Last time he said something about an update, it happened almost 2-3 weeks after he said it.
But, who knows if he is bullshitting or not...

Will the gates of hell themselves bend apart and reveal unto us the unthinkable?
A viable sun-on-a-stick?

I doubt it. The person who was talking about updates fell subject to the harshest of mistresses: Valve time.
Bullshitting? Why on earth would he bullshit about something like this?
it's not a matter of bullshitting
it's a matter of whether it's (surprise!) hyping up something that isn't coming for a fair while, or that it won't be what the public anticipates
so do what you normally do, MUS. you've got a new log in the fire. sit cozy by the fire and think about the possibilities in a healthy manner or try to capture the smoke being given off by the fire and then get pissed when the smoke you "captured" didn't magically turn into a diamond
tbh, and it been said time and time again, we need new weapons, balances are good and all, but balances don't bring back most of the lost players, we want new toys, not cosmetics.
There are some people I know who stopped playing TF2 because of all the bullshit new weapons that got added.
tbh, and it been said time and time again, we need new weapons, balances are good and all, but balances don't bring back most of the lost players, we want new toys, not cosmetics.
TF2 isn't suffering from some sort of player shortage. Why add more clutter when we can take all the useless weapons in the game and make them into good weapons?
and make them into good weapons?
if only it worked that way.
instead we get BFBs and claids.
While I do believe b4nny that there's a big update on its way, I just hope it's sooner than July. The 6-month update dry-spell sucks ass.
There are some people I know who stopped playing TF2 because of all the bullshit new weapons that got added.
Good riddance. There are only a few weapons that qualify as objectively ruinous to the game's balance--and believe me, there's no one that detests these weapons more than I--but leaving the game on a fundamental distaste for new additions to gameplay is simply foolish. It's about as shallow as that subset of players that left over Valve disrupting the art style.
As a matter of fact, most of the contemporary issues plaguing game balance have arisen from Valve's updates to existing weapons, not the addition of new ones.
