Sent an email off to Eric after the update yesterday, Zoebot has made some changes to the model of the Skull Cap so that it clips much less with many of Spy's hats. As well as this we asked if it was possible for the item to get a rename due to an item in-game already having the name. Thanks. -Eric " No mention of if they'll change the name... but fingers crossed.

I'm sure they'll do it, they just sent you the cut and paste response for accepts
But suddenly this happens when you're clicking on it :
My Steam did not turn Russian.
No mention of if they'll change the name... but fingers crossed.
Someone on Reddit suggested "The Bone Voyage." I like it. It's a clever pun, though it's probably more appropriate for a skeleton pirate thing instead of just a skeleton facemask (you know, for the "voyage" part).

Even better, remember the email Ned Ballad wrote about the Huo-Long Heatmaker?

Instead of 'Skullcap' it'll be renamed to 'Skull Cap' right?
Why is it even called the Skullcap? It's a goddamn mask.
Maybe they'll change it to "Spy's Skullcap"
It's a cosmetic, but yeah same thing happened with the snow stompers
And the achievement, "May I cut in?"
Why did I bother buying keys, crate won't drop for me apparently
Why did I bother buying keys, crate won't drop for me apparently
Why would you buy keys for unboxing before getting the box???
Why would you buy keys for unboxing before getting the box???
because once upon a time crates were guaranteed.

How is this tiered item system a good idea at all? The new crates and items are already worthless, no ones unboxing as much as previous updates, and we don't get to own the items we want. If that "Skull Cap" was in the Mann Co. for 5 bucks, valve would make a fortune. But instead they're counting on one guy to spend 50 bucks to make up for it? I feel like they're losing way too much profit and upsetting the customer. I won't be unboxing anymore of these terrible crates. I hope the next update has a better crate system.

Maybe key sales have been down on these new cases and they released this one solo to see if it is due to the ticket pay wall or the tiered items?
well, boy. you'll be dissapointed
It's still disappointing that so far none of the items are craftable or on Mann.Co Store, other than promos.

At this point I don't think they want to admit they were wrong with this new tiered hats system and want to push it as much as possible to see if it will work out in the end (it won't). And after this fad is said and done, when Valve realizes this is taking a dump on their profits compared to the old crates system and store, they'll still keep the existing hats tiered forever because they don't want to "affect inventory value".

How much money do they make from both keys and resales of items on the market? Contributors obviously know how much they make from keys, but we have no idea how large the money they're receiving from the market is.

Also people that get items into crates these days technically make more than older crates since there are far less items in them. However the actual number of crates sold are lower.
I just think with the lack of frequent crate drops and lack of unique unboxes (all mercenary grade) I can't be the only one discouraged to spend money on unboxes. Who on earth would spend an extra 60 cents on a case to only get the same items with every unbox? Who's unboxing these?
because valve thinks they're doing us a favor by having some excitement at the thought of getting an unusual! it's all fun and games! and we're paying them real money for that entertainment. 'tis only fair.
I wish they would bring back those shuffle crates or whatever those were called.
The problem with these 'cases' is, no one wants to open them. In the past, cosmetics in crates all had the same rarity, with a few exceptions such as the RoBro 3000. Now, obviously, the cosmetics are tiered and now half the crate's contents are unlikely to be unboxed. This means you have to spend more money on keys to get what you want. This means more duplicate items. People simply don't wanna do it. Less key sales = less money for everyone involved = a bad system.
Cases also have bullshit RNG to them now, far worse than crates ever were. I mean weapon skins aren't even strange by default, they made stranges rare for some reason, I never understood this, since most of the time it was possible to get the EXACT SAME not-strange skins outside of the case as a coontract reward. and THEN you have randomly generated quality grades on the specific item. and then if you're talking an Unusual, thats also RNG based separately. I'm going too assume a Strange Stat Clock Unusual Assassin Grade Factory New weapon would be the most valuable thing in the damn game with all the damn low chance RNG attached to tf2 cases. Who the fuck would ever want to open these.
