best community for tf2 4chan reddit is neutral at best tbh
i can't speak on the behalf of current /tf2g/ but my years of 2011-2013 was mostly seeing shitposts about boypussy and cacti stock photos so i wouldn't call it that great
TBH the worst part about tf2 is the community you guys are chill, but outside of here.... yeesh
Not as bad as CSGO's though.
TBH the worst part about tf2 is the community you guys are chill, but outside of here.... yeesh
People say that about every game.
People say that about every game.
Let's just say the internet in general isn't the best.
People say that about every game.
Something about TF2's gameplay and mechanics draws toxic players like flies to honey in particular though. Dominations add the right amount of animosity, the staggering amount of hats designed to look like douchebaggery incarnated helps people project their inner vitriol into a visual form, unbalanced weapons make it so one can feel superior with little effort and shut down others without trying, random criticals, the voicelines, though amusing and awesome in every way, are meant to demean and enrage people in context (MOSTLY SCOUT). TF2 was crafted in such a way to erode the already tenuous barrier between online arena shooter player and antisocial misanthrope asshole.
TBH the worst part about tf2 is the community you guys are chill, but outside of here.... yeesh
I think the community is what will hold back any attempts at growing TF2's awareness and presence. The shifty traders, the pompous comp players, the people who only pubstomp, the not-as-big-but-still-there group of hackers, all of it can and will be a big deterrence from getting more new and active players into the game.

It has less of an effect on things than you assume.
i can't speak on the behalf of current /tf2g/ but my years of 2011-2013 was mostly seeing shitposts about boypussy and cacti stock photos so i wouldn't call it that great
from going there every once and awhile lately, I can confirm its just a bunch of people actionposting and reposting the same 3 webms of "sick frags" along with anime posters still better then the rest of the community though
i can't speak on the behalf of current /tf2g/ but my years of 2011-2013 was mostly seeing shitposts about boypussy and cacti stock photos so i wouldn't call it that great
I mean I just go on [sp]infinitechan[/sp] so the tf board is deader than dirt and /v/ hates the game but pisses themselves over TF2C from what I did experience of the sparse TF2 threads it was fun and games shitposting loadouts and forming lobbies, though riddled with shitters coming in to scream about autism and what have you
Although I agree with the remarks about the playerbase said above, I do think this community has a lot of really cool people among it too. I would say a proportionately higher amount than in Dota 2 or CS:GO.
i took the time to read this cancer and i have questions how do you love tf2 so much, love the updates and weapons so much when you admit you never played pvp? how do you spend thousands of dollars on tf2 when real life is apparently giving you a unfathomable hard time? and finally, how do you justify "it was intentional" when you just wrote a text about how much you want to "win" every obstacle in your life (this VAC being one such obstacle) and being obsessed with having the last word to everything (this is what the guy does to appear like he's won over the vac ban) this is full of contradictions
Isn't this the same guy who stole money from that Flares That Care charity thing? The entire 'good / shit side of my brain' spiel seems very very familiar.
Disappointed that we haven't had a hot fix for the Sub Zero Suit using Pyro LODs.
TBH the worst part about tf2 is the community you guys are chill, but outside of here.... yeesh
I don't think I have a popular opinion but TF2's community is pretty good in comparison to most others. It's not quite the tightly knit pre f2p community servers good, and sure, there are some bad apples but over all I think the community is pretty cool. I mean how can you get salty at a game where you can conga dance and hide in a box? The competitive aspect isn't very stressed in comparison with a lot of other titles right now. I feel like the salt levels on average are much lower than CSGO and DOTA and even Dirty Bomb. And even TF2 competitively most of my teammates so far have been really cool. Silent pubbers aren't the worst, and when people talk usually they are alright. I feel the community has kept me playing this game longer than I should have.

Out of all large Communities TF2 has been the best one imo, no matter where you are, if it is a community server or a valve server, there will atleast be 1 player on the same vibe as you, whether you are a tryhard or a goofball.
at least cs doesnt have bullshit crit and have a real competitive scene :v:
atleast cs is well optimized
at least cs doesnt have bullshit crit
Dying to one pistol shot from halfway across the map because it happened to scrape your head hitbox is so much more fun, innit?
how often does that actually happen? that at least usually takes some prediction vs crits just happening based on rng
the hitbox scraping bullshit doesnt happen all that much unless theyre using something like the deagle or a p250 also pistols in csgo have damage falloff so long-range headshots can be done with powerful pistols
so long-range headshots can be done with powerful pistols
I'm sorry I just had some terrible Halo: Combat Evolved flashbacks
have a real competitive scene :v:
what's this supposed to mean though? is tf2's competitive scene not real just because it doesn't have $50,000 prize money tournaments?
what's this supposed to mean though? is tf2's competitive scene not real just because it doesn't have $50,000 prize money tournaments?
It was(?) not "real" because there was no official support or acknowledgment Valve's side.
It was(?) not "real" because there was no official support or acknowledgment Valve's side.
But medals and stopwatch... :v:

Don't tell me this schmuck is on Blu or something.
But medals and stopwatch... :v:
True, however there was still no support. As in, no proper comp mode, even.
Wow, it only took nearly 9 years to get a proper hoodie for Scout.
