I still use the axtinguisher to this day with the reserve shooter and i still feel as powerful and useful than ever. Everyone forget about the reserve shooter in general when we talk about Axe + degreaser but it should be more talked about.
And.. gun mettle wasn't necessary at all, we didn't need TF2 with all those CSGO concept in it. What next? STICKER? Map pass if you wanna play them (i agree that mannup ticket are kind of like this) ?
The only thing good in this update was the map and the gun drop system.
Today, overwatch is released! That must taken most tf2 player on it. For a quick times, then they'll comes back. [sp]i hope[/sp]

Thanks for reminding me that the Reserve Shooter is still terrible on the Pyro!
That weapons really needs to be split into two. It'll never be good on the Soldier without being OP on the Pyro.

make it use DH rules
well that wasn't hard.
tfw your first aussie drop was an Axtinguisher and it just collects dust in your backpack.
Kinda wish they did an aussie of the stock axe instead. Would have been a perfect reference to the Animal Crossing series.
I want to travel back in time and show it to all the people who were worried about hats when the Sniper vs Spy update came out.
if i could travel back in time, the first thing i would do is buy keys for 6 ref each and after that ill see a load of keys in my backpack to spend on.

Not being able to cause the situation that gives you mini-crits yourself would put it in Sun-on-a-Stick territory.
Maybe the whole idea of using the Reserve Shooter as the Pyro is a broken concept I can't think of any way of making it balanced. The problem is how quickly he can attack you with mini-crits. A smaller clip size wouldn't work, since you only really need 2 shots to finish off most targets, and any kind of damage penalty wouldn't make it worth using over the shotgun except for no damage fall-off.

It's actually painfully simple: Make airblast an actual knockback instead of a stun. Boom, most problems solved. Axtinguisher could be buffed back to its original state again if it weren't for the effortless followup that airblast stunning enabled. At least with a directional knockback, you'd need to plan out your blast and actually react to where your opponent is surfing to in response to it.

Who said pyro couldnt use it? It still works against incoming soldiers and demos that RJ toward you. minicritting a jumper is nothing to laugh at, high skill soldiers RJ all the time. Plus a pyro could still reflect a rocket and push an enemy up to use RS on.
It becomes much more situational granted, however the downside is only 2 shells and the cancer is removed. Its worth it.
Nothing IMO compares to the abomination that was day one Scout update.
Anyone remembers Force-a-Nature and Sandman 1.0?
Really though, sometimes I genuinely questioned the choices of the devs: whoever thought that Degreaser (old version fine on its own) and Axtinguisher (old version fine on it own too) would have been balanced together? And Jarate with Bushwacka?
Were they actually testing their game?
Sandman 7-second moonshotting at any range, Blutsauger "no random crits", +50 max HP Backburner...
How was the F-a-N different though? I don't remember.
old fan was ironically yet another airblast machine that lifted people even if you missed 90% of the pellets
idk if im late but it seems there was a new wave of lmao box vac bans http://imgur.com/a/m6SU3
VALVe have to make some kind of charity event where they don't ban cheaters with a ban wave, but instead every person who donated gets a chance to ban 1 random cheater from the list of people that are going to get banned for every donated $5 or so by pressing a big red button

Long as I get a shiny badge for it on top of it, you got yourself a winning pitch.

Why do I get a feeling an event like this would be so damn successful?
Ban-a-cheater on a charity event right alongside other "attractions".
The users with the most bans have a slight chance to roll a golden wrench or some other "special" that's almost unacquirable.
I love this idea so much :3

If that happen i would give 25$ just to ban about 5 cheaters that i always see in my servers :smug:

Please don't use the Reserve Shooter on Pyro.
The Reserve Shooter is the only offender still left in the Pyro's arsenal as far as I'm concerned. Split it into two different weapons, one for Pyro and one for Soldier. Make the Pyro one that is something entirely different. Keep the old stats on the Soldier version.
If they do alter the Reserve Shooter to be different for both classes, then they should alter the appearance too so you can tell what it is if you see it on the ground. Maybe keep the green for Soldier but make Pyro's team-colored
Didn't the creator make a Pyro version with flames on it and a red/blue color scheme? That could work if they split the weapon, considering with the Equalizer they split it with two different skins
If you're not using the reserve shooter on pyro you're not using the reserve shooter at all, it's pretty much useless on soldier.

its either overkill or taxing but "useless" is a generic false statement.
its either overkill or taxing but "useless" is a generic false statement.
I can't think of a single instance when playing soldier in which the reserve shooter's bonus would be better than just shooting a shotgun or a 2nd rocket.

When I had to use it as part of a contract during Gun Mettle I felt useless. I can't imagine how much worse it is now that it doesn't just mini-crit any airborne targets.

gets the first shot in faster. helps with damage if your rocket pushes the guy away. you wouldn't use stock shotgun in a situation where you can shoot a second rocket either way.
if people can try to pretend family business is useful then i'm sure we can stop pretending RS is literally unuseable on soldier.

I felt finishing off an enemy with the reserve shooter as opposed to the stock shogun made little difference. They had already taken enough damage from a rocket to be launched high in the air, they'd be at very low health so the mini-crits didn't matter and the increased switch speed was almost unnoticeable. I did, however, feel the reduced clip-size. It really made a difference in a prolonged fight and affected my survivability.
I was interested with the second part of your post but alright
I was interested with the second part of your post but alright
Oh. Well before it would mini-crit anyone who was airborne, so it was at least slightly useful in taking down Scouts who like to jump a lot. But now it only mini-crits targets knocked back by an attack or explosive jumping, so you can't even do that anymore.
In other news, the time between TF Comics #1 and now is ~2 years and 9 months with no sign of the next issue.
One could have gotten an Associates degree in the time it's taken for the "bimonthly" comic to conclude.
I heard from a friend that playercount is currently down around 20,000 thanks to Overwatch.
If Valve wants the playercount to go back up, they'll need to get out their summer update pretty soon. Tomorrow is Thursday, putting out the update tomorrow would be a great way to get their playerbase back

Why do people constantly propagate this "TF2 is literally dying there are only 3 people left!!!" bullshit when you can easily check the facts yourself in 5 seconds.
But hey, looks like the average player count has decreased by a couple thousand in the last couple months. Pack it up, boys, TF2 is literally dead. Time to move on to greener (and overwatchier) pastures.
