Maybe its just me but I find stock-invi watch spy to be unplayable without the L'etranger.
Try running over ammo more; on many of the maps, you can stay invisible nearly from one side to the other without the L'Etranger (let alone with). The Invisibility Watch is in fact the best watch in the game, superior to the Dead Ringer in most cases of aside from certain chokepoints like a heavily contested Dustbowl stage 1 mid or if you are in a competitive scene where the opposing team is doing such a good job that you absolutely must wait stationary with a C&D to relay info. Not saying that L'Etranger doesn't make this way easier, but to give you an idea of how nuts the L'Etranger's upsides are: the Dead Ringer with the L'Etranger equipped is actually comparable to stock IW and thus can be used to travel most maps while invisible using the DR (granted, the resistance is gone and you start to blink at this point of duration, but still useful).
l'etranger turns the cloak and dagger into a near replica of the stock watch with the added benefit of staying cloaked and the dead ringer becomes an even bigger trouble
oh good I thought I was the only one who absolutely hates the stranger and thought v1 was perfectly fine before
l'etranger turns the cloak and dagger into a near replica of the stock watch with the added benefit of staying cloaked and the dead ringer becomes an even bigger trouble
I still find it inferior simply because you can't surf ammo. With invis you can stay invisible for extremely long durations on proper maps, with or without l'etranger. [editline]8th June 2016[/editline] tbh l'etranger feels kinda like infinite cloak hack, I pretty much never find myself low on cloak with it
As someone who used l'etranger for quite a while but now using the stock i can say that you can notice a difference when not using it. I prefer l'etranger over amby simply because i can't aim though. :v:

It kinda used to be, but the recent-ish changes that buff cloak time for having it equipped made it worth using in my book.
L'etranger with stock watch, most maps I can run around the entire map and do laps without having to worry about uncloaking unless people are hogging the ammo packs from me lol.
Behind the rose-colored glasses, I remember people ranting about how the Uber Update weapons were poorly balanced. At release: Tomislav, Liberty Launcher, Soda Popper, Splendid Screen, and Enforcer. Most of the weapons in the Uber Update were tweaked anyway in the intervening years.
Reminder that the Mantreads have been the worst weapon in the game for almost 5 years now and also are one of four Uber update weapons to not receive any stat changes since release.
Reminder that the Mantreads have been the worst weapon in the game for almost 5 years now and also are one of four Uber update weapons to not receive any stat changes since release.
But mantreads aren't sun-on-a-stick.
Reminder that the Mantreads have been the worst weapon in the game for almost 5 years now and also are one of four Uber update weapons to not receive any stat changes since release.
Heavy should have passive Mantreads honestly
Reminder that the Mantreads have been the worst weapon in the game for almost 5 years now and also are one of four Uber update weapons to not receive any stat changes since release.
There are 5 weapons that haven't been changed, as far as I'm aware. The Atomizer, the Mantreads, the Disciplinary Action, the Overdose and the Shahanshah
KGB's been out since 2008 and is perfectly fine with no change for the past 8 years.
Diamondback is the best revolver for the spy, i can't live without it. Obviously i also like the enforcer. My favorite knife are the kunai (which are, for me, the most op weapon in the game) and the big winner.
and the big winner.
Is that a weapon based on the votes a good loadout gets on the Loadout Thread?
KGB's been out since 2008 and is perfectly fine with no change for the past 8 years.
Yeah they're perfectly fine, you know, other than being worthless outside of DeGroot Keep.
KGB's pretty cool though. I love punching an Engi to death, only to turn around and destroy his friends with crits.
No combat-based melee weapon on the slowest class is going to be good outside of Medieval Mode, and that's okay. They can be fun gimmicks at times, and that's alright.
No combat-based melee weapon on the slowest class is going to be good outside of Medieval Mode, and that's okay.
No combat-based melee weapon on the slowest class is going to be good outside of Medieval Mode, and that's okay.
Yeah they're perfectly fine, you know, other than being worthless outside of DeGroot Keep.
I wouldn't say it's completely worthless per say. Definitely not better then GRU and Fists of Steel due to them being used for their utility perks. But if you can get that one kill, probably on a spy, and can switch to minigun for crits it is technically better in a sense. Just going to be extraordinary rare you'll be able to make use of them over obviously better options.
Fists of Steel is just about the only one, seeing as how it gives resistance to ranged weapons, but weakness to melee.
The Fists of Steel aren't for combat, yeah, they're a utility weapon. Same with the GRU and the Eviction Notice, to a lesser extent.
Heavy should have passive Mantreads honestly
I kinda feel like Demo should get Mantreads, but reskinned to something like a pair of retro golf cleats with big ol' spikes, giving him better traction. [T]https://cdn0.rubylane.com/shops/738907/Cx26A428.7L.jpg?38[/T] Not only would they go well with his other golfing items, but they would also give Demoknights another "boot primary" option besides the Bootlegger/Wee Booties, and likewise give sticky-jumpers a new avenue of attack. Seems like a solid quality of life side-grade for two playstyles that aren't really in any danger of becoming not-objectively-suboptimal anytime soon.
I wish, since the Fists of Steel have the -40% damage from ranged sources as a property, that the TF team would make it so if bullets hit the hitbox of his hands while they're deployed, it would play the metal-hit sound and spark of a bullet hitting metal. There's a lot of stuff in general that would be awesome to see ingame in a future update like this, like do the same thing for the Splendid Screen, and even the Targe and Tideturner, but have those ones play the wood-oriented effects.
Great idea, but do you really think it'll ever happen? I mean, Valve can't even manage to properly align the Targe. It's been clipping into his arm for years now.
reminder that the overdose's effect still isn't passive
i want gunboats on pyro so reflected pills stop doing 140 dmg to myself
Crits don't work on buildings afaik. Or do they?
His meat friends
i want gunboats on pyro so reflected pills stop doing 140 dmg to myself
Talk about a tough reflect to pull off, though. Rockets you can just sort of ballpark, because they travel in a straight line and splash on impact. But a pill reflect? That takes precision - you have to land a direct hit, with an arcing projectile, on a moving target, without being able to properly time the shot and lead the target because it's based off of you responding to the enemy's shots.
i want gunboats on pyro so reflected pills stop doing 140 dmg to myself
Why not making it All class! *Collect gunboat and unusual gunboat even if that doesnt exist*
