there's actually a whole lot of room for weapon sharing. The best part about it is it requires little to no development effort. It's new content tier without actually being new. here's my list Family Business on Soldier Pyro Engi Reserve Shooter on Engineer and Heavy Winger on Engineer Pocket Pistol on Engineer Gunboats on Demoman and Pyro Mantreads on Scout Demoman Heavy Razorback on Heavy Pain Train on Pyro Mad Milk on Sniper some of them might not make sense to you, but if you focus hard you will figure out the reasons. lets call it the recycling update :V
All this balance talk made be remember Where the Bingo cards at?
lets call it the recycling update :V
Maybe save it to be a part of a larger Christmas update, and call it "Weapon Regifting"?
Where the Bingo cards at?
"Random bingo numbers are fair and balanced."
We gave the Reserve Shooter to Pyro, I'd say sky's the limit.
We gave the Reserve Shooter to Pyro, I'd say sky's the limit.
We gave Reserve Shooter to Pyro and all hell broke loose.

But I am genuinely curious how useful familly business would be on the other shotgun classes IMO. I think pain train on Pyro would actually be good too. Giving up the almost always useful mobility of powerjack to make pyro better at capturing points and pushing carts.

Sentry knockback crit.

That 60% damage reduction will be real useful for detonator jumps. Or would it be for the 1 in 1000 times you're able to reflect a rocket and jump off it? Can you imagine the Heavy with the Razorback? Lord Exor would probably cream himself.
But would the Gunboats replace primary or secondary?
shotgun of course. gboats on pyro is for sick reflect jumps and general protection against your own projectile denial. RS faster switch and minicrits on incoming jumpers is nothing to laugh at. high skill soldiers RJ all the time. Itd still be viable on engi/hvy. Could be fun with wrangler rockets too.

had a brainfart for a moment with gunboats/det
You wouldn't be able to equip detonator and gunboats at once, they'd obviously go in the same slot.
Give the Pyro the gunboats as their primary, buff the Detonator into some kind of super flare gun good enough to be used on its own. :v:
Tbh I kinda agree with Hell-Met on the "Razorback on Heavy" thing. I could see it being a good competetor against The Sandvich. Every current secondary he has atm can't even dream to compare with Heavy's pocket large health pack.
One of Heavy's main weaknesses is that in order to shoot people, he can't keep an eye on his back. He depends on his Medic and teammates to spy-check for him, for the most part. Giving him the Razorback would be like all the complaints about the Huo-Long Heater becoming valid.
Personally, I think the reserve shooter would just be a little too situational to pick as a primary on engineer over better options.
Eh. It wouldve been godtier with the old universal switch speed, making wrangler/circuit/combos much better. not my fault the valve touch ruins all :[
Even though I play Heavy a lot more and would appreciate the peace of mind the Razorback brings, I don't think it'd be a good addition. Spy struggles enough as is to be useful against a competent team. With Sniper using the Razorback, if he's off by himself as he usually is, the Spy doesn't have an issue taking him out with a revolver. But if the Sniper is around teammates, the Spy can rarely do anything against him, but this isn't so much a problem since if a Spy goes for a chain stab on the teammates, the Sniper can't easily stop this. Giving Heavy the same ability would basically make him invulnerable to spies. A Spy's only other method of attack, the revolver, would not be able to take out a Heavy at all. A Heavy aware of a Spy can almost immediately take him out.
It's not impossible to come around and stab a second time though but yes its a wild idea
With how the Razorback stuns any Spies who stab it, there's no way a Spy would survive any encounter with a Heavy.
Honestly I really like the idea of the reserve shooter for heavy if it still punished players for jumping, like if a scout wouldn't get out of your damn face or something, maybe minicrits scouts that are in a double jump?
With how the Razorback stuns any Spies who stab it, there's no way a Spy would survive any encounter with a Heavy.
There are Snipers who don't even turn around when their Razorback gets stabbed. I feel the same would happen here.
It's not impossible to come around and stab a second time though but yes its a wild idea
It's a solid plan against most snipers, but a Heavy has no issues tearing you to shreds on the spot.
There are Snipers who don't even turn around when their Razorback gets stabbed. Good players won't fall for this on a normal setting and I don't feel good to use the logic that some people are inherently suffer from tunnel vision means it'll be fine on heavy.
Honestly I really like the idea of the reserve shooter for heavy if it still punished players for jumping, like if a scout wouldn't get out of your damn face or something, maybe minicrits scouts that are in a double jump?
The problem when it comes to heavies and shotguns though is still a problem for the reserver shooter. Is the upsides of the shotgun enough to be more useful then just gunning the enemy down with the minigun? The reason no one really uses the shotguns now on heavy ( not including for fun situations ) is that there isn't a situation that the shotgun shines over what the minigun can do.
It's a solid plan against most snipers, but a Heavy has no issues tearing you to shreds on the spot.
i dont remember if the weapon stun also deactivates mouse2. if so then fair enough.
i dont remember if the weapon stun also deactivates mouse2. if so then fair enough.
I believe you recieve all the same effects that getting hit with the sandman ball does. Can't attack, can't disguise, can't cloak and suffer from movement speed impairment. Well, except not stuck in third person I guess...
no not at all it only locks mouse1 and weapon switch, but im not sure about mouse2
You can't cloak, attack, or switch weapons for 2 seconds after stabbing a Razorback.
