Suijin plays great, especially after they removed the line of sight that was crossing the entire map initially. It has a bit of a spawncamping issue, I suppose, but when that doesn't happen, it's a solid map with lots of three-dimensionality to it. [sp]Otherwise I mostly agree with that seemingly being the case.[/sp]
Sujin's problem is that it was made to be an Arena map, not KOTH. If it had been kept as Arena, it would honestly be one of my favourites. The updates to it helped a lot, but it still has a lot of flaws that make it unfun to play on for me.

i just got votekicked for being idle. I wasnt idle. I think someone got salty there needs to be a check in place to see if players are active.
there needs to be a check in place to see if players are active.
You can run around or do other stuff but that still can be considered as idling (5cp last engies) - that's why idle votekick option exists There is an auto-kick for AFKs, you don't need a votekick for AFKs
I still always get an awful framerate on that map every time I play.
I always wondered how did Valve really pick that map up, since the framerate is really awfull on full server of players. Atleast there should be some sort of quality assurance. Back in the days pl_hoodoo stage2 was kind of similiar to suijin now, but pc hardware has evolved a lot on the years so it never runs bad these days. Not to mention Frontier, which also initially had framerate issues but hardware did evolve. By this assumption, suijin will be playable framerate wise after 4-5 years. Maybe.

I really had a lot of fun on that invasion map, byre, and the 2 control points on that map fixed my only complaint with stupid back caps
arena wouldn't be a dead mode if Valve would goddamn just enable the Arena Quickplay menu it already exists, and there are more worthless Quickplay menus (like fuckin SD) I goddamn hate arena but I loved playing on Byre during Invasion. I think I spent more time on it than any other map during the event

Any steamrolls are quickly mitigated by swapping out losing team members, and if one team wins 3 in a row, teams are scrambled. It just felt refreshing to play both alongside and against people - I also noticed that there was far less salt when playing arena, because most of the time the people you're salty against are inevitably going to be your allies within a few matches.
So, uh... has anyone mentioned the self destruct stuff on contracts yet?

Thought Tough Break was to last until the 31st.
So, uh... has anyone mentioned the self destruct stuff on contracts yet? Thought Tough Break was to last until the 31st.
Is this contract your last?
Respawn arena would be pretty fun as an offical valve game-mode, I could even see it put in the offical matchmaking rotation.
Is this contract your last?
No, it's not mine, it's a pic from reddit. I have two unfinished contracts (at least one left to do after these two) and both have the same self-destruct message.
So, uh... has anyone mentioned the self destruct stuff on contracts yet? Thought Tough Break was to last until the 31st.
Maybe it's been abbreviated to make room for a new update releasing sooner than anticipated? Nobody should mind; after all, contracts are mere fluff.
Maybe it's been abbreviated to make room for a new update releasing sooner than anticipated?
I don't see them releasing a non-competitive update with comp so close to completion
I don't see them releasing a non-competitive update with comp so close to completion
I never said anything about a non-competitive update. Perhaps the update will bring both competitive matchmaking and balance tweaks.
I never said anything about a non-competitive update. Perhaps the update will bring both competitive matchmaking and balance tweaks.
I don't think matchmaking is that close to completion, though.
i don't think theyve done most of matchmaking yet, the stress tests are just for the beta
So, any other theories as to why the contracts are expiring on the 15th?
Have any other pictures of contracts expiring on the 15th surfaced? I've only seen the one. It's possible that contract is just old and they give contracts an extra, say, X days.
Have any other pictures of contracts expiring on the 15th surfaced? I've only seen the one. Hurry! Tough Break contracts will expire on or around March 15. Get a move on if you're behind!
Here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=642493819 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=642493865 Both of these contracts were received last night, so they're not old (still need to do the bonus on the soldier one).
Fair enough. Hopefully something cool happens before the end of March!
