So... Matchmaking, any news lately?
This is probably just a coincidence, but I like how the Blu icons have most of the mercs leaning forward in a more offensive position, and the Red icons have the mercs mostly leaning back, defensively. This is most noticeable with Scout, Soldier, and Pyro, but I think everybody has it to some degree. In case you need a refresher, on Attack/Defense maps, Blu are the attackers while Red defends, so I like to think that this update is a nod towards that, even though Attack/Defense maps probably will never be played in offical 6v6.

What I don't get, is why are some actions by the server, (like being teleported to that winning room at the end, or when the spawn doors did not open few updates ago when the gc was failing) has to be tied to the game coordinator?
The comp stress test is a lot of fun and turning out great. Got matched up with good teammates and played against opponents of similar skill or better. A few of the games were really intense and made my heart race. I have a feeling TF2 comp will be a huge success.
Many of my games were great but good god, I got matched with the worst earnest kids earlier. They would be so dedicated to their stupid strategies that they couldn't counter really easy things like heavies or mini sentries that just require an iota of focus fire. I hovered the mouse over "Abandon" every time I died, checked the scoreboard and saw them still at 0 points, but played them all to the end.
Please valve, give us a "never match me with this player ever again" option.

The same happened for us, with all 6 players on our team, but the penalty went away after we joined another game for some reason.
I'm just glad we didn't have the issue of being able to walk through props like we could the crates on Granary last time.
b4nny's beta pass is now a Vintage Beta Pass, so they did something with beta passes in the update.
I predict/guess that passes will be available to purchase sometime early next week.
Looks like there are now three separate comp pass items; the Vintage ones that people had before, these new ones which seem to be for general purposes, and an invite pass that you can gift to people. The Vintage pass has the same backpack icon as the standard pass, and appears to just be for legacy purposes.

I don't think that'll be the case. The schema just added a new item origin along with this update:

Which leads me to believe that these new general-purposes passes will be distributed through the comp group, and they're finally ready to start giving these things out to people.
And now quite a few people seem to be getting Beta invites they can give to others.

Wouldn't that mean this is the first time in years that Valve has used the Vintage prefix? Or am I forgetting about something.
You know, I can see the appeal in joining in Matchmaking with a friend or two, but this whole 'randoms vs actual 6s team with coordination' thing really needs to stop, I think that the ability to create a party for matchmaking should be removed, or at least have special servers dedicated to 'party vs party'.
I'm wondering if there's actually any "matchmaking" beyond putting people in servers. Our team of six Fresh Meats just got matched up against a team of all whatever the third level is.
Anyone else getting an update?

In rocket league theres a standard ranking game where you can and may get matched against parties, but there's also a solo standard ladder where you can't have parties. Maybe something like that?
I think in comp classes should have callouts whenever they killed a guy or their teammate died
People just keep disconnecting when I join a game.
It's happened like, 4 time in a row now.
I'm not even in the quitter lobby, this is so dumb.
If valve though people are going to gift away their passes to friends - they were mistaken, because instead this happens
