With all this hat updating going on, I wish that some weapons would get some model/aesthetic touchups as well (such as the tomislav). :v:

While cosmetics are getting updates i just wish the weapons got updates well. It'd be cool to see that done as well :v:
Wait when did they change the Chargin' Targe to have a random level?
Wait when did they change the Chargin' Targe to have a random level?
Some other newer weapons also have random levels like the back scatter.

Anyone else get a 30mb download today (March 26)?
The creator of Snakewater posted a near final version of the updated version of the map if anyone wants to download and check it out before Valve ships the update.
Anyone else just not having fun with matchmaking due to the way ranks are handled? I mean I know it's beta but the least I want is to not fight people that are way above me rank wise
Anyone else just not having fun with matchmaking due to the way ranks are handled? Here is something I would like to know. Is valve going to make skin workshop or not.
Again, once it will be made avaliable for everyone, the matchmaking servers will have a much larger pool of players to choose from, largely increasing the chance to get matched to players with similar ranks.
There are currently well over 30,000 beta passes in existence, tf2 has an average of 60,000 players. The playerpool isnt the problem, the ranks just dont fucking work right now.
This is not how math works
You care to explain then smart ass, According to steams official stats tf2 has 57,850 concurrent players, 30,000 is a very, low minimum that number has likely multiplied significant times considering this was posted weeks ago, I said 30k as a minimum because I cant currently find another source that gives an accurate number of the amount of current beta passes. but considering that anyone can pick up a beta pass for a few ref, and that there are countless places to get them for free since they are multiplying rapidly, after all my own pass has multiplied 5 times over I would say that "lack of players" is not an issue with matchmaking.

The amount of people with beta passes is 30,000 (actually it's much higher but that's irrelevant) but that doesn't mean that 30,000 of the 60,000 people playing have beta passes.

THIS WAS 6 DAYS AGO, I will be honest that I can not find a viable source for the amount of current passes and my original post could have been worded better, although judging from the fact that that each pass multiplies constantly, it should not take a rocket scientist to assume that 30,000 with constant exponential growth over a 6 day period leads to an insane amount of passes. Feel free to put your fingers in your ears and ignore the facts, but its clear as day that the player pool for matchmaking is not the issue, considering anyone with 5 minutes to spare and a reddit account can get a beta pass. Heck if anyone here somehow doesnt have one, I have 4 left since I cant give them away fast enough, since everyone I try to give one to already has one.

To grow in the way you're thinking, every single pass would have to be given out every wave. That's not happening, not by a long shot. Beyond that, I'm pretty confident that each wave doesn't even give everyone a pass to give out.

Also is there anyone reading this thread right now who doesn't have a beta pass?
how many beta passes do you currently think exist then? Also is there anyone reading this thread right now who doesn't have a beta pass?
Probably 100,000-200,000. Which would still only be 1/20th to 1/10th of the active weekly TF2 playerbase.
Concurrent players does not even come close to matching the active playerbase. Wild guesstimates and boring math ahead: Consider an average play session: I'd say 2-3 hours is fairly generous. Steam charts indicates that TF2 over the last couple days has a high of 75K concurrent players and a low of 50K. If we gave everyone an average play session of 2 hours, we'd need 12 times that to cover the minimum number of active concurrent users during a 24-hour period, which is 600K. Add on top of that peak players, and we're looking at somewhere along the lines of 800 thousand unique players in a single day. Beta passes use opposite math as above, since we have total users and want to find concurrent users. 30K total passes must be divided across that 800K active playerbase, which means that 1 in about every 25 people actively playing TF2 is a beta pass owner. For every unique person joining the matchmaking queue, there's an entire server full with non-matchmaking players. If you also take into account that beta pass holders may not be playing matchmaking and the churn of players no longer playing since they got a pass, that ratio is likely even smaller.
Also is there anyone reading this thread right now who doesn't have a beta pass?
<--
wouldnt the passes grow exponentially? considering each pass generates gifts every half a day or so, if every gift is given and every pass generates more passes, shouldnt the growth be exponential as opposed to, say, linear?
