Master NeoDement, since you made the Beep Boy equippable for Scout and Pyro, is there a possibility to make the Beep Man also equippable for Scout and Pyro?
PS. Make the Hotdogger an all class cosmetic. =3
This needs to stop.
Well that was fun, had no FPS issues or bad connections.
Almost every game I played tonight was an established high-level team vs. a group of mixed randoms. I can see people getting really easily discouraged by trying to get into comp using this system, especially if they're playing in a small group or by themselves.
Won some times, lost some times. Playing Medic on the teams that sucked was horrible, but on the good teams it was nice. Lag was fixed up, at least for some people, NO CTF YES, and I even managed to pull in a good number of topscores, it wasn't perfect but it was much better than a normal game of TF2 could ever be. Can't wait to be paired with actually similarly-skilled players/not be stuck sometimes fighting organized meme-teams with a team of randoms and rather just be randoms v randoms.

For the lazy: Next stress test will be
around 10:30am PST, or 18:30 UTC. Or so.

Are you fucking serious? Did you not read the entire shitshow that went on just now in this very thread?

I think that was the point.
Just played, lost once, won once, overall was really fun. Also this happened.

You know, right before I tried out the stress test, I was afraid I would suck at comp. I've never played it in my hours spent on TF2, and I was expecting to be steam rolled by the pros.
Turns out, I wasn't as bad. To be honest, I was rather okay, but not bad. Still finding myself in Iron league, really, but comp wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It's just like being in a pub.
Still find myself overextending onto a point by myself though, I need to stop doing that.
2016 gonna be filled with competitive fixes and all-class cosmetics
Pretty much those 2

you must not have gotten paired with platinum 6s teams that all change their name to some shitty meme and roll you faster than you can tell your teammate to stop running pyro to mid.
The worst part about the beginning of a matchmaking system is ironing out the ranks...

it takes time for players to fall into their respective ranks, give it time.
We recently emailed Eric asking to make these changes to the Sidekick's Side Slick, that was fast...
Changed equip region so it can be worn with hats

Second style to make the mask paintable instead of the hair

Matchmaking is going to be big, guys.

I agree geel, but what was the context of this post :v:
Matchmaking is going to be big, guys.
Eh, I feel like it would be big but the game is so far into its lifecycle that it's going to be hard to get into as much as actual competitive leagues.
Like, there's a banlist of at least 15 weapons currently for UGC, with a lot more up to the chopping block on a bi-monthly basis, and that's not even mentioning the banlist on closed-off competitive groups like ESEA. Unless some major balancing patches are released before the beginning of matchmaking (and I'm talking full-on rework of a LOT of current weapons level patches), the game will still be as unbalanced, but now it'll just be forced classes and maps.
The Team Fortress series as a whole should just get a sequel, or some sort of remake on source 2, porting to source 2 would be extremely difficult, so if they made a new TF that was "serious" and made tf2 casual, that could work out in the end.
We need some sort of training system where it tells you the strategies and rollouts and stuff
They should also have official callouts, maybe a name in the corner for locations?
Most of the matches I have lost are because my team didn't know any strategies and didn't callout stuff

before we complain about teammate skill and such, let's wait for the ranks to actually work lol

Please, no.
Definitely a 12 man pub, but a good 12 man pub, not the shitty ones we have now, more like the old ones from the tf2's glory days with the old community servers where people would actually try, pick classes they needed, and listen to each others strategies and ideas instead of just saying "lul is jus a pub man". You can actually strategize and build your loadout, and playstyle around what your team is doing in order to achive victory, rather than just being the lone player who actually gives a shit about winning in a shitshow of random bullshit.
Its better than current tf2 pubs, but its worse than the dead community servers its come to replace, overall a good addition to the game, but not as good as fixing quickplay so servers running more than 12 players can have this kind of teamwork encouraged gameplay.
So I assume the next one is today, and actually EU-Friendly?
I'll be waiting!

Is actually very hard to coordinate with another 12 players.
That's one of the reasons why Matchmaking is focusing more on 6v6 instead of highlander, I think.

LOL, did tabby ask you about this? I talked to him about it a few days ago to make both of these changes haha

Take off your rosetinted nostalgia glasses, buddy.
Yes, community servers are far and spread beyond, but there are still some out there that encourage this teamwork that you so greatly desire if you search for them.
Or if you insist on sitting around complaining, stick around for official competitive servers that will still have the issues you complain about until you pull through to the higher ranks. Of course the lower ranks will be full of the shitty toxic players from the pubs that you hate, but things will get better once you progress and get matched up with and against people at your own skill level who understands teamwork and coordination.
I love the little results screen where the winners basically taunt to their hearts content and the losers basically make rude little scribbles over the winners faces, it's pretty neat

I personally find the chalkboard intrusive and annoying.

It's a good way to do a results screen that's also enjoyable for the losers ("Haha you guys lost check out these guys that beat you" tends to get old), it's an original idea, and it fits with the general theme of TF2.
I like it as well.

nothing says "tf2" to me like giant poorly-drawn dicks on the scout
it's what the game is all about

I think all it really needs it a client-side "wipe doodles" button for people that just want to gawk at the winner's hats... or just don't want the dickdoodles.
