Major Update Speculation V31: Gamechanging Edition

We honestly gotta start taking it easy with the multi/all-class updates.
Even if it's really unlikely, I'd really hate for TF Team to stop accepting item updates as openly as they currently are just cause one guy keeps exploiting it to make some of his items, which only seem to make sense for one class, multi-class. This is the only way to add item styles into the game, as you need to make multiple entries following the item's acceptance. I've been waiting two long years to finally add today's styles to the Caffeine Cooler, and I'd hate for somebody in the same situation to not be able to do the same cause of somebody exploiting the system.
And personally, it's disheartening to see the increasing amount of lurkers on the Emporium who are clearly there not to contribute, but to keep their eyes peeled on any sort of hat update they can get their hands on. I've seen spotted one or two recently made accounts that I can link to overmarked Outpost trades in regards to the Patriot. Not picking on you ikes, that's the best example I've got in regards to the current situation.
We honestly gotta start taking it easy with the multi/all-class updates. Even if it is very unlikely, there's always the possibility that the TF Team stops accepting our item changes as openly as they are now due to whatever reason. We haven't been able to upload items with styles after the importer was introduced until just months ago. As the only way to do this is by updating the submission following the initial addition, we'd be barred from having the privilege if this was to happen.

The All-Father update was all over the subreddit as soon as someone posted it here, and I saw plenty of people use it as an excuse to hike the All-Father's price up before the update even happened.
Truly the only way I can see this ending is if item contributors begin to be a bit more secretive about their item updates. Uploading the updated item as a hidden submission rather than onto the original page would be one of the smallest of inconveniences for the TF Team if one tells them what to do.
Seeing the update progress of an item on the original intended classes is all that should be necessary for people on Emporium to provide sufficient feedback. However there can certainly be exceptions, such as items that have to be completely remodeled so an additional class can wear it.
Contributors should basically stick to showing off these updates to other contributors imo. They'd get better opinions from those that work on items themselves then those that don't. And when an item update hits its unexpected.

I'd have to agree here. It's always exciting to learn that an old item is getting updated, especially if it's one that isn't nearly as popular as others (looking at you Hot Dogger), but in the end there's really no gain from sharing with literally everybody here. I don't know if it's possible, but maybe setting up a contributor-only sub-forum or steam group and posting about it there, or even just messaging one of the other contributors about what they think?
Now obviously I'm in no way an item contributor so my words don't hold much weight, but it's definitely food for thought.
Should the economy really be of such concern though?
If the item ends up looking better then that's great. So what if people hoard a bunch to make an extra 70 cents?
Like, when I see people begging/boasting in this thread regarding cosmetic updates I get the sense they're kids trying to profit on a realistically small scale. That shouldn't impede creators improving their work and asking for open feedback.

I get that it's annoying but the regulars here seem to just rate appropriately and ignore. People catch on.
You're acting as if using the scale function to make the hat ridiculously large on the Pyro was some kind of magnum opus that took you weeks to do.
Even disregarding that, he wouldn't need to redo any section except presumably obtain a new UV bake from you so that he could repaint the fabric part of the hat (which most people suggested could use a bit of touching up due to being flat, anyway), as the brim and other sections wouldn't necessarily need modification. It's not like he needs to throw out his emblems because of something that would only require you to do some edge splitting and like 2 minutes of effort moving vertices on your unwrap. You're making it sound like the changes needed to improve your item are going to consume weeks of time and effort to do when you have the hard part already done.
If you still don't want to improve your cosmetic in that regard for some inexplicable reason, so be it, but then don't act like it should be unexpected for people to criticize what you have done if the very people you are supposedly trying to pander to are questioning your decisions with the very same cosmetic.
you're acting as if i didnt have to pull a bunch of shit to make the damn thing fit on pyro.
pro tip: pyro's head is way different from soldier's.
Maybe we should be asking Valve about fixing certain items instead of worrying about all-class/multi-class variants
Remember, Valve said they would fix the Photo Badge and Clan Pride five years ago

How is debating/complaining about hat improvements off-topic? After all, it does concern upcoming TF2 updates.
Pssh, allclass robot hat? Junk.
i actually really like the bot dogger thanks neo

Could have sworn this was a buffet.
Apparently nobody noticed (it wasn't listed as an undocumented change) but the Graybanns were fixed in the 24/3 update. The patch notes have been updated to reflect that now.
I wish they'd make some of the uglier hats, not ugly.
Fix this or remove it from the game, it's a fucking eye-sore
You like it so much that you don't even have one in your inventory.
Heh, I'd like a Burning Team Captain too, but I don't have one.
The difference is that the Bot Dogger is worth 1.33.
Point is if you really liked a rather cheap hat chances are you'd own it.

But who cares honestly
Apparently you.
The issue (assuming there was any) is solved, can we leave it? ^^;
When was the last time Valve released a hat that was actually made by them? Just realized that 90% of hats that i remember are community-made. I actually miss "official" hats, because you can't see them on the workshop so they are always a surprise...
The whole all-class thing is weird. Some items, like the hot/bot-dogger, sure, why not? It's not that vastly different to a lot of other items available.
Stuff that vastly changes silhouettes or colour schemes for the worse (like the Breakneck Baggies) are definitely a bit too far out there, however.

Aside from weapon skins, medals, and exclusive hats? Apparently the Crosslinker's Coil.

The South of the Border set and the Retro Rebel set from the Love and War Update I think.
There was that high-poly PASS Time ball hat in the files :v:
That reminds me: there were some duplicates of That 70's Chapeau; why?
There was that high-poly PASS Time ball hat in the files :v:
Considering the fact that the polycount is way over what the Source engine can handle, I'm gonna bet that somebody from Escalation Studios made it.

Ah, then yea those are the most recent.
Crosslinker Coil is the latest all-class hat, I believe.

Looks like they fixed the team paint on the Brim Full of Bullets
A Well Wrapped Hat and Chill Chullo are the latest all-class hats, if I remember.
Those are both community-made hats.
Those are both community-made hats.
Oh, you were talking about Valve-made/Promotional items.
Well, my mistake.
