Never saw the Old-vs-New of the brim-full get posted here, so here's a quickly thrown together one to show the difference:

styles have different color layouts:
bad is based off his vest:
[t]http://puu.sh/nZGc8.jpg[/t]
ugly is team colored to his pants:
[t]http://puu.sh/nZGfg.jpgp[/t][t]http://puu.sh/nZGgd.jpg[/t]
but the most important thing is that they paint differently:
Good style is the original style with just the band:
[t]http://puu.sh/nZFyp.jpg[/t]
Bad is a second style that paints both the hat and band. Its more noticeable on brighter paints:

Ugly is the third style that paints only the hat, but not the band:
Item updates are a privilege and Valve accepts them at their own discretion. Don't act like item makers are entitled to them getting in because they aren't. Item makers don't have perfect judgement either, just because it's "theirs".
Ultimately Valve decides what should or shouldn't be done, and given this is an internet forum about discussion of TF2 and its updates, I don't see anything wrong with critiquing that.
TBF Valve has not showed good judgement recently with some item updates. If you submit an item and it's not absolute ass ie. works with the game, it will probably accepted regardless of whether it actually needs to be made allclass or not. The onus is on the item creators to stop doing this, because Valve has been lenient on standards so far.

To be honest I don't believe in Valve's judgment with anything after they introduced Potasium Bonnet as all year item.

I just don't believe in Valve, they're just a figment of our collective imaginations.

Oh come on, its a fun, stupid item that isn't directly a "spooky" hat. Dont be so dramatic.

Intrestingly, you invested about 2500 hours of your life in a company's games you don't believe in.

As Neils Bohr once said, it works sometimes whether you believe in it or not.
[sp] besides, that's only 2500 hours on my current account, my old account had ~4700 hours [/sp]

Not to mention the Graylien and Burstchester.
Not to mention the Graylien and Burstchester.
I'm fine with those being available all year, what I'm not fine with is the Burstchester being tiered
Not to mention the Graylien and Burstchester.
To be fair, as the guy who designed the Graylien originally, I wasn't even sure it'd be able to be worn all-year round, and the original workshop submission even had it listed as a Halloween item alongside an Invasion one. Hell, if it weren't put in the game for Invasion, it was actually one of the items considered for use in Scream Fortress 2014. It was only till after that when I knew it'd be getting ingame, but when Invasion actually hit that was when I discovered it'd be a common tiered item found in one of the cases wearable all-year round.
As for the Burstchester, I wasn't a part of that so I don't know how things went, but I can say it's a taunt that clearly had a lot of effort put into it, and it's not one you can really easily see a lot anyway.
Compared to most other items, these are still surprisingly subtle despite being silly aliens.

Heh, my girlfriend hates your guts (but it isn't your fault). The poor girl unboxed 50 crates, and got 35 grayliens out of em >_<.

here a little speculation, what it the next update will be iron gauntlet? [sp]one can dream[/sp]
here a little speculation, what it the next update will be iron gauntlet? [sp]one can dream[/sp]
Invasion didn't launch until a year after its public contest, and was in development for 2 years. So its doubtful it'll come any time soon, if it is greenlit for an official update.

all those weapons will scare valve away, that's guaranteed.

MVM content scares Valve away period.
Pretty cool update.
i just want asteroid to be released.
Somewhere a child with cancer is considering contacting the make-a-wish foundation to at least get the new comic out while it's still alive
At this point I'd almost prefer they don't release Asteroid since its pretty clear it would remain a game mode with one map for all eternity.
Man, Asteroid is one of my favorite maps.
Like, I just love how it ends up being a massively long thing where people actually have to work together to eek out a win, it feels super rewarding.
Hopefully when Matchmaking is out of Beta, there'll be an option to choose game modes and whatnot, because competitive Asteroid would be a hell of a time.
Now that I think about it more, I never really cared much for asteroid's gameplay, I just liked the visuals.
what i like about asteroid, and robot destruction is that every class can feel important at any time really.
Wait, is Iron Gauntlet going to be an actual community update?
Wait, is Iron Gauntlet going to be an actual community update?
no one knows (as far as i know at least)
Wait, is Iron Gauntlet going to be an actual community update?
probably not, by the end of it it had no real theme or reason to it and basically any submission that wasn't technically awful would be thrown into the collection. I don't really know what they were trying to go for
Please don't update it for engi but I think a cosmetic like the Berlin Brain Bowl would be neat on Engi (I don't want the original to be updated I want a new hat is what I mean please don't hurt mew)
I think the Egg Head's Overhauls and The Level 3 Chin would make sense on Heavy, Practically everyone on the team calls him fat.

Naw it's just MUSKELS. Just had a weird thought and I don't think people should try it but what if a hat contributor just uploaded a completely new hat and called it an "updated version"
