Major Update Speculation V31: Gamechanging Edition

More than one year has passed and we still do not have a strange Iron Bomber or Quickielauncher.
Still waiting for those Iron Curtain/Lugermorph/Enthusiast's Timepiece Strangifiers, Valve. It's been five freakin' years and they still haven't been released. The AWPer Hand was released in 2012, and that got a strangifier before the Poker Night items.

-snip-
Does anyone else think 6s could benefit from a 2 per class limit?
It's pretty frustrating when my team wants to "AHURR DURR LETS ALL GO MINI SENTRY ENGINEEER!" or 4 people want to play scout...
Aren't stock minigun and pistol strangifiers can be used on their reskins? I bet i saw strange IC somewhere...
you say that as if minigun and pistol strangifiers exist in the first place
which they don't

Playing the game since 2009 almost every day and still don't know a shit about it, derped out for a moment, sorry, gotta snip that BS
I'm actually kind of enjoying how viable a lot of strategies are in the current MM. Against good Scouts? Get an Engie. Enemy Heavy tearing stuff up? Get a Sniper. There's a lot of interesting counterpicking going on, making a lot of matches with a lot of class switching, and it actually works pretty well. In particular in the case of Engineer and Pyro people underestimate how well they do with all unlocks allowed (Reserve Shooter, Powerjack, Gunslinger, Jag, Widowmaker).
I've been playing nonstop Pyro for the past 15 matches and I keep top scoring, or getting pretty close to it. With less players in 6s compared to highlander, it's a lot easier to flank, especially when you can tell their team is pushing up.
Also scouts were laughable when I played Pyro, they kept running into my flares and dying from the crit.

What rank are you at? Fresh meat?
What rank are you at? Fresh meat?
You're saying that like there's actual matchmaking in place right now - also, Pyros are being ran constantly on higher levels too, especially on Pyro friendly maps like Viaduct.

A competent scout can easily shut down a pyro, especially on Viaduct. What high levels are you talking about were running a pyro is viable compared to having a scout or soldier?
Anyway if your team isn't good enough to win vs a team running a pyro then you deserve to lose.:speechless:
What rank are you at? Fresh meat?
I've played around 30 games and im still fresh meat, hell the bar hasn't even moved as far i can tell, so rank means nothing at the moment.
[sp]also who names them self "gaben's nut" on facepunch, only 10 year olds find that funny.[/sp]

Any class is viable if played correctly, i think you just don't like pyros.

My name is irrelevant to the discussion we are having.
My name is irrelevant to the discussion we are having.
That's why i put it in spoilers, but that's not what we're talking about, pyro and spy are both viable in comp, you just need to play them correctly and know the right situation, spy being the most situational of the two. [sp]your name is shit btw, it's not amusing[/sp]

Just ignore him, he never actually posts anything meaningful anyways.

Yes I agree, pyro and spy are both situational in comp. You cannot run full time spy or pyro and have as much of an impact as running a soldier full time.

well actually this is just another case of the misunderstod-guy-that-actually-knows-high-end-tf2 but the offclass mains here don't like hearing this sort of thing.
he's right even if it doesn't reflect your personal experiences.

Well then explain how I ran pyro full time and we completely steamrolled a team made up of your normal 6 meta, bud listen your looking at this for a hardcore 6s player, where no deviations for the mets are allowed, now that valve has lifted these class bans there is going to be a new meta, spy should not be consistently ran in a game but pyro can, also your comment about what rank that guy was is mot because im pretty sure ranking is currently broken in comp. [sp]also change your name[/sp]

High level as in the only metric to run high levels in MM by, relatively high ranks (8-10+). A small map with easy access to the middle without getting seen, a slope and the Reserve Shooter and Powerjack being allowed makes it quite good for Pyro, Scouts don't really have an easy time running around him because there isn't much space and Soldiers find themselves fighting a literal uphill battle. Viaduct in general sees a lot of off-classing, Engineer and especially Sniper being ran quite often as well.
I'd also just like to remind everyone that while valve's MM is a fine step in the right direction, it does not accurately reflect how comp tf2 plays. Matches and leagues are still being operated outside of valve's influence and they probably won't stop being that way because they need class/gun limits to be enjoyable.
sure b4nny and stuff play MM alot but they honestly just mess around. When they've got business to get done they go back to their old format.
Here's hoping it does have some sort of influence, though. Comp TF2 has been VERY slow in taking on new weapons and items that help some classes quite a lot and could potentially benefit the meta - just look at how much the Gunboats improved the 6v6 playstyle. I don't see class limits disappearing (and that's probably for the best, although they could just set everything except Medic and Demo back to 2, come on), but weapons is definitely an avenue to explore.
Well then explain how I ran pyro full time and we completely steamrolled a team made up of your normal 6 meta
That means you got matched up against a bad team/players who could not handle a pyro. As you said, "ranking is currently broken in comp" so I'm guessing you got matched up against players below your skill level.

I was more referring to how he tried to sneakily complain about the guy's name as if it added to his argument at all then try to flat out deny it. I don't really care about the current argument about class mains in 6s anymore because it's just a roundabout argument that never has an ending if you remember off-classes in 6s are off-classes for a reason and the main Soldier/Demo/Scout/Med meta team comp is the main meta team comp for a reason.
Which is exactly why we were talking about matchmaking which has no weapons bans and no limits? According to "the reason" of current 6v6 meta we'd expect two Medics and four Demomen or whatever, but that's not happening, which is why it's interesting to look at. TF2 is a different place since the initial class limits/weapon bans, and it's cool to see how that pans out.

I never said that you couldn't talk about it, I said that I didn't care about it.
I said that I didn't care about it.
Why post then? That's not arguing a point or saying something interesting.
Why post then? That's not arguing a point or saying something interesting.
It's very simple, actually.
I replied to an original post to ignore a user because what they were posting wasn't an actual argument, and then somebody misconstrued what I said as a criticism on the argument at hand. I cleared up that misconception by saying I'm not interested in the actual discussion, and again my post was misconstrued as a comment on the argument being pointless (when I personally just see it as pointless, otherwise I would have started talking about it being pointless when it became a discussion a few pages ago). So, I cleared that up as well - you can have the discussion about 6s and the current meta, I personally just don't find it interesting.
Continue your discussion about the matchmaking meta, the only reason I'm responding even though "I don't care about it" is because people are responding to me. Also, to clear it up in case anybody plans on it, I won't "just stop posting" just because somebody tells me to.
Reminder that actual 6s bans craploads of weapons and has certain rule restrictions, and both don't apply to the current 6s for matchmaking meta.
I hope that they gonna add highlander in next update [sp]wich probably gonna be released within 1-2 days, not sure about that though.[/sp]
[sp] (ABOVE : end of the Tough Break Campain - 4th of March) [/sp]
I am hoping, with the latest campaign ending and no seasonal updates to clash with it, that Valve will release a new normal crate soon after Tough Break finishes.

I hope not I don't want any big updates distracting me from my Gungeon! (/s it'd be great to see some new content like highlander)
