I now feel bad because I saw the patriot peak going all class and was like "Oh that looks super neat!" so I bought one before prices go up and now I believe I'm part of the problem
The rule goes like this - if you don't fit either of the following criteria:
1. You only have the intention of selling the hat when it rises in price after the update, or
2. You're Jhejh poT,
then it's fine and you shouldn't feel guilty. Buying a hat that's going to be updated because you want to use it before its price goes up is fine or want the hat because you like the update, but doing it only to make profit is scumbaggy and honestly pretty sad.
Invasion's biggest disappointment to me was how little of the hats they added I didn't want new weapons I just wanted an ASS ton of hats but I got like 15 :(
Watching things devolve from "wow this is shit. No interesting weapons at all, it's all just +/-Stuff stat guns now." to "wow no new weapons at all, now it's just a shitload of hats, fuck this." to "man i can't believe we only got 12 hats, what the hell are they doing, i miss the hats" is tragic.
Presumably posts from 2017 will be "well this update didn't set my computer on fire and only removed six weapons this time so i guess it's not awful"

I guarantee if they added 70+ hats with Invasion, people would complain that the game is being bloated with unfitting cosmetics.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Man you are one spicy meatball. One I agree with but the Spice is still here

I'm not a meatball, nor am I spicy. I'm a human.

That sounds like something a meatball would say.
About the Mayann Community update; not sure if i like the jungle theme. Dont get me wrong, i would fully support it being added to the game. But its really not as interesting to me as something like the Invasion update or the Iron Gauntlet (but i will admit that if we can get some more jungle maps, that would be cool.)
I think it will be fantastic for maps but pretty forced for cosmetics tbh. Tribal stuff doesn't really make sense for TF2 characters. I'm sure you can pull it off if you're really clever but I don't think there's enough potential there for a large number of fitting cosmetics.
If final update's got the Safari mustaches and pocket Binoculars I've seen from the workshop collection it'll fit right in.

well the obvious solution would be to just add hats that the mercs themselves would actually wear, fit the universe, time period and aren't the ticket boy, but apparently that's hard because reasons [sp]and gaudy idiots aren't interested in tasteful things but y'know[/sp]
Does the tough break finish midnight?

Probably finishes I'mma say 3-4ish PST tomorrow
Strange Panic Attack/ Quickiebomb/ Iron Bomber when
Honestly I've given up hope that Valve will add them in, along with the old style of crates making a comeback :/
At the very least they could throw a couple of the missing stranges with each campaign case until all weapons are available in strange form.
I appreciate Valve making recipes to craft away stranges and strange parts, then not releasing any new ones so supply runs out. Even the bad parts are all half a key minimum, and there are barely any left in circulation.

The parts shortage, and thus prices, is especially ludicrous, and has been for a good while.
Unlike S. weapons that change owners when someone gets bored of them, they're one-time-use-only items that can't be re-used on newer and fancier forms of stat-tracking weapons that many have switched over to along the way, and the majority of them haven't been re-released in ages. The supply has been used up mostly, very few still get unboxed from older crates, and the remaining ones are selling for WAY more money than most of us are willing to pay for (likely).

I'd honestly love some new strange parts, maybe more stuff for the Mediguns other than Allies Healed. Maybe something like Teammates saved, overhealing done, or even [del]enemy spies healed[/del]
I always wanted a set of stupid parts, like the aforementioned 'enemy spies healed,' 'times dominated,' 'times user killed self with this weapon.'
Would've made a great April Fool's Day tie-in.
Strange Gunboats tracking distance traveled in the air or number of rocket jumps attempted or even total height achieved would be neato.

Then the same for jumpers, and maybe even for B.A.S.E.
Btw what about strange part that counts how many kills you have done just by hitting enemies once (per life, and it needs to be the last hit too)?
I've always wanted a "Friend's Killed" Strange Part that kept track of how many times you killed someone you are friends with on Steam.
I've always wanted a "Friend's Killed" Strange Part that kept track of how many times you killed someone you are friends with on Steam.
reminds me of this one guy on the workshop who suggest a "teammates killed" part
the way you'd level it up is that if you have it equipped, you can kill anyone in the server that you please, including teammates :v:
what if they added a love and war style shuffle crate that just contained all of the strange parts and a dozen or so new ones
that could be really good

From a consumer stand point, this would be amazing. Fuck the economy! ANARCHY! ANARCHY!
Do the campaign crates count as series crates? Like, in the files or something like that, do they have numbers, or are they just there?

yep, checked backpack.tf and it looks like these are the numbers
#93: concealed
#94: powerhouse
#95: gun mettle cosmetic
#96: quarantined
#97: confidential
#98: gargoyle
#99: pyroland
#100: warbird
#101: tough break cosmetic
They didn't skip 100. Does that mean that salvaged crates are pretty much a thing of the past?
They probably are either
A) Going to do something big with the missing numbers
B) They seriously forgot they even existed and we won't see them any time soon
