I noticed they added a new animation, competitive_loserstate_idle. A few are the same to the regular ones, but from looking at it it seems like they still have a way to go before they're completed (if at all).

you know how the losing team gets a movement penalty for no reason since 2007 when they lose? The problem is this affects the loser animations too. It slows their gesture down and makes it look worse than it actually is. You can notice how much better everything looks during a stalemate (loser anims but no slowdown)
Looks like their poses are so they're not raising their hands on the medal rewards screen, so it doesn't look like they're waiting to be called on in class or something.

It was to make it easier for the winning players to catch and kill the losers.

Do you think Valve would ever replace the weapon models for those two if someone submitted alternate models? They don't seem shy about fixing age-old weapon problems like Engineer's pistol clipping during reloads, so it could work

Competitive matchmaking is in semi-open beta now. You need a beta pass to play it, but everyone who already has a pass also gets a steady supply of beta pass gifts to give out, so it shouldn't be too hard to find someone who'll give you one. Since Valve is Valve, though, you'll also need the Mobile Authenticator to play, so that might be a problem.
A few people are working on an Invasion-style community thing called [URL="https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1513155"]The MAYANN Project[/URL]. It looks like Valve has set up a process for community updates going forward to try and make them go more smoothly from now on, instead of all the drama and secrecy we had with Invasion.
A bunch of hats got updates to give them graphical improvements, add new styles, and make them equippable by more classes. Anyone else feeling bored with TF2 now I mean it's just been too long since something new to grasp on even with Matchmaking and I know it's like this most years you know with about 2 major updates per year (besides annuals) and blah blah blah but I mean couldn't valve just pick up something like Iron Gauntlet or at the minimum make matchmaking playable for me I mean I physically can't connect to stuff. That said I will be very happy to start playing again more regularly once we get that summer update (Note I'm not quitting not like it's a big deal either way just it feels too slow with the new stuff)
Matchmaking actually gave TF2 a big boost, for me. I'm playing with friends I haven't played with in years, people who played the game ages ago but stopped enjoying the bloat and 24-32 player gameplay. It's a lot of fun.
Haha Valve broke something very situational and specific about ubering I think???
Me and a friend were dicking around as medics uberchaining just to have a laugh and we noticed a. Weird happening. We noticed sometimes during ubers only the patient would be ubered leaving the healing medic vulnerable? We didn't know what it was at first, but after experimenting I'm pretty sure it works like this:
If you, as a medic, begin to uber your patient as you are currently being ubered, once their uber on you runs out, your invulnerability will also run out, and only your patient will be invulnerable, leaving you, the medic giving the uber, vulnerable.
This ended up getting us killed a few times when we shouldn't have been. If not that, it was still most definitely a thing that was happening, on a Valve server no less.
Might be worth lookin' into or sending an email about maybe???

It's great practice for sure - lower player counts means positioning is more important and you're also more likely to get flanked, so your awareness is trained a lot.
Also makes you realize how insanely strong Jarate is, damn.
Speaking of MM, is there any other program for PC that "replaces" the Steam Mobile authenticator?
I recently got a beta pass from a friend, but the steam mobile app always freezes my phone every time I try to use it, so I can't access the authenticator.
Also, what happened to the PC Gamer episode 1? It's not on Steam anymore. Everytime I click it it sends me to the main store page.
I really wanted to get that genuine Killer exclusive.

You can use the bluestacks android emulator or the scrap.tf desktop authenticator.

You say that like we'll get an issue 7. My money is on "Unfortunately, we'll be unable to finish the comic, come check out our new DOTA weekly comic series instead!"
I kinda wish Valve didn't treat tf2 the way I treat my homework assignments. In fact judging from the balance changes they make, it wouldn't surprise me if they think up all those balance changes 2 hours before the update is launched, they then forget it until the last minute again for the next update.. Heck matchmakings current state shows that they "worked on it for 2 years" in the same way, they pretended to work on it for 2 years than probably crapped alot of it together at the last minute 2 weeks prior.
