Major Update Speculation V31: Gamechanging Edition

I always thought it'd be interesting to have a medigun that healed one target PLUS all teammates who were within a certain distance of that target.
It would have to have a pretty significant downside depending on how far that distance was (short uber, slower uber build, or possibly no uber at all) since group heal like this could be VERY powerful with a coordinated team.
I came up with a feature for the Phlogistinator, I know I know it's OP as is but just hear me out
What if it can reflect, but only Pomson & Righteous Bison Beams? Or Alt-Fire Cancels them like the Short Circuit?

Way too situational and almost useless gimmick (since it's a rare thing to see someone using those weapons in comp) imo.
I remember I thought of a feature for the Mann Melter that would suck in the projectiles and shoot them back out, seeing as it sucks in fire.

I like your ideas!
Off-topic i know but i would really like to see some more canon backstory for the mercs. Why do they fight? Why are they part of the team?

ive had an idea like this too for a new weapon, a shopvac like vacuum cleaner the pyro wears on its back, holding the hose under/over its arm.
For a medic weapon, i think a new primary or melee that allows you to heal a portion of any extra health your heal target gets, like from heathpacks or heal-on-hit weapons. Maybe a passive primary that allows 1:1 health gain but removes the medic's ranged defense.
I hope they add a weapon that automatically murders everyone who posts weapon ideas here when there are already two perfectly serviceable threads specifically meant for weapon and weapon fix ideas :-)
We could just talk about that one line of text for a week if you want, although it looked like people were already mad about that.

We could just wait until we have actual things to speculate on, and post here then.

has that ever worked out?
this is the facepunch mus thread.

Sometimes I like to think that it deters some people from posting, but that's probably wishful thinking.
There's this group of Facepunch users that just have this primal instinct to post in the speculation thread regardless if there's absolutely nothing to speculate on. For them it's more like a TF2 themed WAYT thread.
That's why this is one of the most active TF2 threads even during the 6 months of downtime at the beginning of the year.

And yet the General Chat languishes in (relative) silence
At this rate they should just get rid of the TF2 subforum since by now all threads are general chat.
Your not helping the problem.[sp]Then again, nor am I.[/sp]
And yet the General Chat languishes in (relative) silence
Generally, the Stuff that Annoys you thread sees more activity than the actual General Chat, and pretty much forms part of the ''general discussion of TF2'' on these forums. Why? Well, I guess it's always more appealing to complain and express grievances about the game, because we take stuff that we (still) like about the game sort of for granted, something that really doesn't need iterating much.
I think comparing and discussing past updates from the perspective of what elements they added (what was a good decision, what was a bad decision, which update was better, how we remember the playerbase's or our own reaction at the time etc.) or expressing hopes and wishes for future updates in MUS is fine enough, when there's not much new to talk about.
It's just when people get into technical and long-ass discussions and page-long arguments on particular weapon balances and what needs to be buffed/nerfed/changed etc., that the thread becomes way too off-topic.

If anyone needs a back story, it's scout, I want to know more about his 8[sp]or was it 6?[/sp]other brothers, also where did scout get those dog tags?[sp]my head canon has always been that those dogtags belonged to his dad, possibly the spy, since I could easily believe the spy being the scouts dad and being part of the army at one point, and his mother just gave them to him when he was to young to know who his dad was, but eh, head canons are just that, head canons[/sp]
I'm more interested as of how Pyro got in and how he has the ability to become the CEO of a company
Also where can I find scouts origin story, is it a comic?

It's from his bio page: http://www.teamfortress.com/classes.php?class=scout
Speaking of Scout, I want a comic where a RED/BLU Spy starts staying at his mom's house in attempt to goad him into revealing info about his team in a manner similar to this

I kind of like not knowing, it adds to the humour of it.

It's called Frontier Engineering, 100 bucks says that it's Engie's company that he owns and designs for and when he "fell off the face of the earth" he probably put Pyro, a friend who he's trusted for years as a buddy against spies and a mute who can't make decisions bad or good in as the CEO until the comic ends and everything wraps up with his return.
I mean the lady even says he's the "new CEO"

Wow, that reminds me of how I've forgotten virtually the majority of the comic's plot.

I've had a head cannon about spy for a while now, been meaning to type it up for an SFM short for the saxxies.
Long and short of it, he's at least a casual actor and not so casual socialite in france before the second world war, and after the occupation of Paris he starts running information to the boarders for the english. After the war and many adventures, he's bored of social life and starts doing shady work for whoever will hire him, mainly secret services but more and more some illegal stuff.
Then for some shady reason he comes to america, doing industrial espionage, sometimes turning out to be gigantic james bond style thrillers with secret weapons facilities and doomsday lairs hiding under steel mills and what not. The big joke of the story being that those international tales of intrigue are what he really considers his career, and the TF mercenary jobs are just what he does in down time to keep his skills sharp. The spy himself thinking of it as his "hobby" in between bigger much longer jobs, for much more dangerous people. He's just so much a cut above anyone else on the team. Even engie, medic or heavy, while otherwise very intelligent are hardly restrained or refined people, to me the spy just seems to be something else entirely
i really should get to storyboarding that out, i have some good ideas for it

I thought it was just part of the joke where we thought they were gonna introduce the Engineer, but it was just the Pyro instead.

It's way too coincidental that a company is named Frontier Engineering and is now run by the NEW CEO Pyro at the same time Engy vanishes from Earth for just a reveal gag.

and re reading that section its gotta be on purpose cause...could you really leave pyro alone?
It was a controlled environment, heck pyro saw it dull and grey, I wouldnt be surprise they were given directions of keeping that environment like that to pacify the pyro.
Or maybe pyro is just a very gifted businessman and all of you are jelous of him
It's been something like what 2 weeks and Valve STILL hasn't fixed this major bug for matchmaking that makes me and probably others physically unable to play it. The game still thinks I'm joining through steam and not the regular matchmaking menu (I'm using the MM menu).

Forgive me for asking, but have you reported it either through the ingame method or by email?
