Forgive me for asking, but have you reported it either through the ingame method or by email?
I'll probably do that in a minute I haven't yet cause I assumed someone else has done it. at this point I just can't wait till MM is finished and mostly bug free cause I have a feeling it will be real fun.
The TF Team has not updated the game in 2 weeks, right? As in proper Update, I dont count the one ending tough break.
The TF Team has not updated the game in 2 weeks, right?
Well technically they updated the All-Father description too, so that would count as an update regardless of whether ending tough break was part of the update as well.
The update didn't even get noticed on the website so I wouldn't count it
I speculate we get Spy vs. Engie (or a minor update with ARG stuff) this Thursday the 21st
I speculate we get Spy vs. Engie (or a minor update with ARG stuff) this Thursday the 21st
Spy V Engi will be a Summer update no doubt
Do you have anything to base that speculation on?
Scout's VA just said on a stream that he recorded new lines in February. Take that whichever way you want.
Scout vs Engineer confirmed. Place your bets.
He probably recorded lines about how Scout wants to date Miss Pauling/how Scout wishes a war broke out between him and a class cause he is "cooler than the hardhat or the frenchie" n shit. I am betting on it.
Scout vs Engineer confirmed. Place your bets.
Here Comes The Scout Vs Engi Update! You guys all know your favorite loudmouth piece of shit that does a lot of damage and isn't fun to fight? What about your favorite Texan who constructs enemy team retardators so they can't destroy your dumb ass sentry that's in the worst spot! But of course here's the balance changes! -Engi can no longer build anything -Scout is now as fast as Engi -Engi now only gets a bat, scattergun, and pistol -Scout now can't double jump (Disclaimer this is the worst update ever made :D )
I hope they'll make a new short for the matchmaking update or Spy vs Engie. Or maybe even both.
In what context was the line answered, didnt the VA hate "being the Scout" ?
In what context was the line answered, didnt the VA hate "being the Scout" ?
I believe Nathan said he hates people asking all the time about being the voice of the scout, he seems to have fun doing the actual voice work.
I believe Nathan said he hates people asking all the time about being the voice of the scout, he seems to have fun doing the actual voice work.
Glad to hear that, out of all the voice Actors his Voice was the one which changed the least. Not saying that the other Voices arent still top-tier.
Scout's VA just said on a stream that he recorded new lines in February. Take that whichever way you want.
Probably matchmaking lines/MvM lines
-snip- Wrong thread
-snip- Wrong thread
-snip-
Probably matchmaking lines/MvM lines
I feel like if they finally recorded some proper "Ready!" voice lines, they will never be used in MvM because they forgot that it exists.
Scout's VA just said on a stream that he recorded new lines in February. Take that whichever way you want.
probably for a taunt or something
probably for a taunt or something
Could also be ready responses, misc. competitive lines, PASS TIME LINES (please), and new campaign responses for the next campaign.
Could also be ready responses, misc. competitive lines, PASS TIME LINES (please), and new campaign responses for the next campaign.
Yeah it wouldn't surprise me if it was for multiple things. If Valve is going to pay him to come out and record lines they're probably going to have him record as many lines as possible to make it worth the cost of paying him.

If Valve is going to pay him to come out and record lines they're probably going to have him record as many lines as possible to make it worth the cost of paying him.
They don't always have to come out to Valve to record, they do it remotely too. Makes it easier in the case of having to slightly re-do a line somewhere down the road, and the actor wouldn't have to make flights out.
An additional note about the timeline is that Scout claims to have known Pauling for six years in issue #3 (1972), putting the start of TF2's game setting to at least 1966.
To be fair, Scout has some of the least development on the backstory side. We know from his bio that he has a number of brothers, we know from Meet The Spy that his mother is banging Spy, and that he taught himself how to run. There's lots of hinting that Spy is his father (though we don't know if Spy fathered all his brothers as well) Depending on how canon you consider the cosmetics, the Fed Fighting Fedora states that he's robbed banks before, though it isn't specified if it happened while he was employed or prior. Other than that, there's a lot of things we know about other mercenary's pasts that we don't know about him. Like we know Engineer has worked with Redmond and Blutarch for a long time, we know he has 11 PHDs and we know quite a bit about Soldier's past due to WAR and his bio. And there's aforementioned Track Terrorizer that states at one point he was 23, though that was released some time ago and it's hard to mark if he was hired at that point or that was around MVM. I think the implication that nobody was talking about from that and the Big Mann on Campus is that he's a high school drop out. Other than that, Scout is shown to exaggerate, not be particularly book smart, and outright lie if it makes him look good. It could've been just as much "I've known you practically six whole years!" not an exact number. Option 1) he's accurate, and he knew Miss Pauling before the official games. Either she hired him, or their backstories are connected somehow. Miss Pauling has even less development than him. For all we know she's a Helen clone whose entire history has doing the Admin's dirty work. Literally the only thing we know about her past is she's "worked for the Administrator her whole life" and that she likes guns and gun shows. And Valve forgets the last one half the time. Option 2) He's exaggerating and we should never use Scout as a lore marker because he's headbutted a few too many times and lost as many brain cells as Demoman. Option 3) Valve fucked up the continuity again and nobody caught it, just like that time when Demoman had two eyes and the eyepatch on the wrong eye. [editline]18th April 2016[/editline]
That's nice and all but that still doesn't explain what's wrong with scout I think he got a nose job
Scout has a history of having the strangest variations in comics and random Valve art. There's the Mac comic where he was a redhead and for some reason extremely buff, then the Lecture Valley ad where he has freckles that he doesn't have in any of the other illustrations. He changes from redhead to light blond to dark blond depending on the comic. In fact, he made that exact change in two episodes when they changes colorists. A Cold Day In Hell has his dark blond/light brown type of hair, then he's bright blond in Blood In The Water. He also changes from spindly arms to being buff and back again. He also has very strange face changes when Makani doesn't do him. See the Mac comic, the catch up comic, some of the assorted ads. Even in the comics Makani does he comes off as way more buff than his game self. Which I don't particularly mind, given it makes sense he'd gain at least a little muscle from swinging his heavy bat around, to say nothing of all those guns. [editline]18th April 2016[/editline]
jay is the writer for the comics
A writer, not the writer. Erik Wolpaw has worked on the comic series as well. There's also projects which Wolpaw has done without Pinkerton, like Expiration Date. Which wasn't a comic, but it's still noteworthy.
Option 2: Episode 2) Valve fucked up
When it comes to story continuity, this is generally the go-to option.
We didn't even get a "it's coming soon though!" Now I'm guessing at least another 3-4 months. Might we get a full year gap between comics?
We're going into eight months now, almost nine. Last time it was a ten month gap, and there's no "coming soon!" spiel this time. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it passed the year mark and then some. It is Valve, after all. They are the king of delays. I could insert a HL3 joke, but they became an ancient and bitter stale meme long ago. Remember when we had two comics a year, though? That sure was something.
I wonder if Valve might end the Comic-Issues with a Comic-themed update? Just imagine it, cosmetics, taunts, and even maps based on the comics, I'd love that. Might encourage some people to read them toh.
We all want this, but were never gonna get it.
Well, the community could make it a thing, couldn't it? If the idea gets enough support, why not? Just imagine it, a Neck-Snap taunt.
probably for a taunt or something
if any taunt needs new voicelines, it's the mic drop. so maybe we'll be seeing that make it in? who knows, i dont. [editline]18th April 2016[/editline]
They don't always have to come out to Valve to record, they do it remotely too. Also he mentioned he's working for bungie now, which is coolio.
