I can at least applaud Overwatch for rewarding you with various tiers of unlockable cosmetic guff via level up. Its way better than getting a case or shitty weapon from a contract thats for sure.
Kind of makes me wonder for what purpose all that lore's for, if it's for advertising purposes or just the team being bored and making up a story, like Valve did with Dota 2. I mean, in comparison, TF2 was just "Blue vs. Red. Why? Who the fuck cares, here's a gun, go shoot stuff." And it worked just fine.
Blizzard does lore for all their games, it isn't anything new.

As well, there's like 8 different types of rewards that can come from the loot boxes (skins, voicelines, in-game taunts, victory poses, Play of the Game poses sprays), and there are shitloads of voicelines and sprays, which means they're the most common loot. The one upside is the boring loot (voicelines and sprays) are guaranteed common (white) tier loot, and every level up lootcase is guaranteed at least one uncommon (blue) item. It's better than paying, but it's still not a very good loot system. I would've preferred receiving in-game currency to spend at your leisure from matches, daily missions, and leveling up, like Halo Reach's loot system.
Blizzard is one of the worst companies when it comes to developer-community relationships.
I recently saw a video somewhere where they replied to community asking for vanilla WoW servers. They said that there wont be any vanilla servers (this is already asshole-ish, that doesn't take any efforts to implement and that's what community really wants) and instead of shutting the fuck up some blizzard guy added "you think you want to play vanilla but you don't really want it" like he knows better what people want. What's up with that disrespect? When i think about Valve i have mostly good associations, there were plenty of stupid, greedy or just rushed moves, but in general i feel like they care about what they do, they care about how we as players will react to what they do. I feel that effort and heart that was put into their projects. Opposed to Blizzard, maybe it's subjective, but i felt nothing than cold and their greed to money when i played their games.
At least blizzard updates their games with meaningful content
overwatch wants to be a game about heroes but it couldnt possibly fill the hero-shaped hole in my heart city of heroes left [sp]I'm willing to admit I've still occasionally cried about it years after the shutdown[/sp] [editline]29th April 2016[/editline] also if I cant mod lucio's gun to play fatboy slim music then I'm not even gonna bother buying the game
At least blizzard updates their games with meaningful content
Are we still talking about the company that thought that Twitter integration and a selfie camera count as a major update?

Or is it just easier to pass their ways off as them being greedy assholes? Also, companies make mistake. If you paid attention to more than just the Blizzard Hate Orgy that's been going on, you'd realize that this has been an evolving topic since the second it was announced the servers were being closed down, and that the the Nostalrius dev team (the guys whose servers they closed, which started this whole stupid shitstorm) are being invited to Blizzard HQ to discuss pretty much anything. I get people want to vilify companies because they did something that they don't like, but assuming every company that doesn't give you all you want on a city platter are money-grubbing robots with no consideration for human feelings is fucking stupid and insulting to the gaming community as a whole. Don't do it. Also taking something out of context is just as stupid. I could easily take any quote from any person that's spoken since the beginning of time, miss-attribute it, put it in a completely different context, and suddenly people like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., or Barack Obama, or Valve themselves are racist, narcissistic assholes who only care about themselves. Blizzard assumed (wrongfully) that people wouldn't want the vanilla WoW servers, and with good reasoning behind why they didn't do it anyways - it would be a lot of fucking work, which people don't seem to realize. But I guess they're assholes for not giving everybody everything they want. Rant over. Don't be a fucking twit and don't accuse companies or people of things they didn't do or mean.

Glad to see them so active even if a update or patch isn't ready. Last year we literally had silence until Gun Mettle, sans one community taunt update. This is a change for the better.
Don't be a fucking twit and don't accuse companies or people of things they didn't do or mean.
I didn't say that making money is bad. But when it feels like that matters more than player's enjoyment that's a bad call. After watching the GameSpot's documentary on Overwatch, i seriously cant see why everyone is mad at tf2 and overwatch being similar. In the documentary, the guys say that they were inspired by Tf2, even praised the game for its artstyle. They just wanted to make a game with LoL and Tf2 similarities, it wasnt going to be an FPS game in the first place. And i dont see the reason why people are picking sides, i preordered Overwatch, but i will still stay close to my roots wich is TF2. Ofcourse i wont spend as much time with tf2 as i used to but ill still play it.
Are we still talking about the company that thought that Twitter integration and a selfie camera count as a major update?
Still better content and more work than adding a hat model.
Are we still talking about the company that thought that Twitter integration and a selfie camera count as a major update?
Are we still talking about the company that thought that youtube intergration and a replay mode (and both of those are still very broken) count as a major update? :disappoint:
Are we still talking about the company that thought that youtube intergration and a replay mode (and both of those are still very broken) count as a major update? :disappoint:
at least those actually do something for the players lmao
Are we still talking about the company that thought that youtube intergration and a replay mode (and both of those are still very broken) count as a major update? :disappoint:
It kinda does count as one. Or did back then.
Atleast it's daily-weekly produced updates and they listen to the community reports asap at the first time (as i remember). That's a huge step(s) forward from not communicating with us at all.
Are we still talking about the company that thought that youtube intergration and a replay mode (and both of those are still very broken) count as a major update? :disappoint:
No, I don't think we were. We were talking about Blizzard.
And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying blizzard is perfect, they're far from it. I'm just saying valve is just as bad.
I think I'll try the Overwatch beta. I'm curious though I don't like the art style, the fantasy characters and everything seems like a shitstorm. Half the time whoever is playing can barely see anything on screen But it's getting decent feedback, so it's probably better than it looks.
Lmao Box premium had been reportedly detected by the latest VAC wave.
Lmao Box premium had been reportedly detected by the latest VAC wave.
So is that pretty much all hackers or? Some guy about 3 hours ago got accused of hacking but I'm not sure if he was. He got a dodgy headshot on me but not much else, so probably not. If he was, probably LMAObox?
Most of em it seems
Hallelujah. Just checked their subreddit. Teehee.
It's going to take a while for most of them to get caught though, so you might still come across a few.
No, I don't think we were. We were talking about Blizzard.
Say what you want about blizzard, but they don't force a mobile authenticator on you, and if you do want to use it you can buy a 6$ little device to use as an authenticator for those who don't have expensive smartphones. As for all the overwatch talk, I'd say whether you like overwatch as much as tf2 depends on the reasons you like tf2. If you spend all your time in jump maps learning new ways to get across the map it might not be your thing, if you like tf2 for the diverse classes, and potential for team play you are likely to enjoy overwatch. Really though the games free to try next week, so you should all just play it and form your own opinions rather than miss out on something you may enjoy because you don't like the idea of playing any class based shooter besides tf2

Legitimate props, man. Usually your posts leave...much to be desired, but you bring up some really good reasoning for overlapping interests in Overwatch and TF2.
Say what you want about blizzard, but they don't force a mobile authenticator on you
I'm pretty sure they would if Overwatch had trading and $10,000 skins.
