My point was more that just because aimbots work better with hitscan, does not mean that an aimbotter going demoman is suddenly not capable of aimbotting even while lacking hitscan.
I didn't finish my story. He was bad at Demoman. It was pretty obvious he wasn't aimbotting, and we knew he had a checkered past, so we turned him down.
While I'm glad LMAObox is done and over and that the creator abandoned the project, I don't think he should really be redeemed of what happened given that he was the cause of it initially.
I'm also a bit wary of them releasing the source of it freely, since that could lead to someone making their own modifications to it and having it potentially come back stronger than before. A lot of people got banned for using LMAObox, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them grouped together and tried making a similar one again.
And so, the Lmaobox cheaters are now in VACation, the TF2 Community rejoiced, danced all night and lived Happily Ever After.
The End.
Imagine being so much of a piece of shit that you hold of the charade of being a competitive player while cheating

Targeted advertising, man.
never imagined there were cheaters in comp. guess my respect for leagues blinded me.
They're all in UGC, whose only form of anti-cheat besides VAC is basically if-you-see-something-say-something, and nobody wanted to seem like a sore loser by reporting a good sniper. A couple of them were starting ESEA-O teams, but there's no ESEA-IM or ESEA-Invite players VAC'd. The best players are actually the best players, which is nice. It's a shame how fake the competition in UGC HL and 6s is though.
I absolutely adore the fact that UGC had top players banned. Like, the 'best' snipers. You're telling me that no one was willing to call out their suspicious activity, especially if all of them were cheating?
holy shit have top players been botting?
I mean I usually assumed nothing of it cause theyre top fucking players but christ, this is akin to using 'roids to boost performance.
it's more like using roids to make up for never having any performance LOL, you can't take drugs and suddenly be an olympic athlete but that's what aimbots do for regular players
super-roids
loseroids
Get good, get 'roids.

Meanwhile, Starcraft 2 top players are getting lifetime bans for match-fixing.
e-sports is totally a myth you guys videogames and sports have nothing in common
According to Vac-ban.com, 2975 VAC bans have been dished out.
not enoughhh
VAC everyone
Just to be sure
So I was just tipped off that the LMAOBox devs are not discontinuing the service, and they plan to "update" to get around everything.

Not sure how to take this, so any information/opinions on this would be appreciated.
These fuckers don't know when to quit do they :disappoint:?

Knowing when to quit doesn't really apply to a scenario where your hobby involves actively bypassing the fixes made to prevent your progress
As far as we know valve now has the sourcecode to lmaobox as well as a debugging copy of the program, meaning they'd have to change a LOT of stuff from where it is now before valve presumably wont be able to just reverse engineer a solution to it

Pretty sure people paid for this, so yeah, there's money to be made
I seriously don't get the point, why even play the game? Do they have any self-worth? Jesus christ, anyone who cheats should rot in a fucking hole

From an engineer's perspective, it's a fun exercise in pushing the limits of what you can do within a game's engine, doubly so if it involves skirting around an anti-cheat system.
From a user's perspective, most likely they just want a powertrip or to ruin other people's fun. So yeah, into the hole.
remind me to not get excited next time this happens.
Can i just go on a limb and say that this week as been the best Quality of life updates we've seen in like 3 years.
We've got Alternative servers, Doomsday was moved to those servers, We got hydro back on valve server and personally speaking some cleaning up for MM. Oh and LMAO BOX being dead on the water... for now?
Valve needs to keep this momentum. Because the promise of optimizations and performance fixes from months ago are seeming less like a promise and more like a close idea. I hope they allow us to disable texture streaming personally.
tbqh, with hydro back, i cant see even a major update blowing this out of the water for me personally
i legit cried when i found out it came back and i was in class.
I dunno what to be ecstatic about; lmaobox finally dealt with or the once admirable "skilled" players having their reps destroyed
Would it be worth it to ask for a small handful of Arena maps to join the Alternative playlist? Maps made for Arena like Watchtower and the two others could be a good addition to test the grounds. Although, as I'm typing this, I think I recall Valve adding that one Arena map from Invasion. Still, though, a regular Arena map as an addition would be cool. I really like Watchtower and it's such an underrated map.
How would you even hide hacks in a proper comp? Most of the hacking players I've seen are super suss.

Arena isn't fun for regular players. If you die you gotta wait for the round to end and it can be super frustrating to watch if your team's not doing good.

Sure "they'll be back", but several thousand VAC bans on accounts with sufficient value banked into them is a notable bullet through the knee to be sure.
The man who delivered the source code to Valve should be rewarded for his diligence. Perhaps a nice Valve Rocket Launcher would do?
