Just a heads up, it would be inadvisable to attempt to run what you download. It will almost certainly not work properly. The average player will gain nothing from this but disappointment. This very, VERY broken build of Team Fortress 2 is fit only for dissection by way of CFGscape and other utilities. Getting it to a working state would require more work than it's ultimately worth.
Why aren't people trying to download version 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc? Find the earliest one that actually runs?
Aww, the minigun script isn't early enough to use the muzzle flash model :(
I'm not getting a materials folder either. I managed to get everything else, but not any materials.
someone should just upload the materials folder
I'm not getting a materials folder either. I managed to get everything else, but not any materials.
Figures. The one thing hyped via screenshots that can't be obtained in the current vpks. Hopefully we can figure out where we goofed or somebody else can say what we did wrong. I used -depot 441 -version 0 and no username or password.
The death sounds seem a bit different, or am I just clocks to realize they're just generic death sounds regardless of version?
Why aren't people trying to download version 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc? If so, we're treading through some pretty startlingly ancient repositories. Class and event-specific death screams were added for all classes long before the first closed beta.
try -depot 442, i didn't tried yet
Would it be possible to download pre-ordered games with this? I would think not but has anyone tried?
Breaking the release date set by Valve on pre-ordered games is bannable and may even warrant legal action by the developer. If it works, report the exploit immediately and do NOT continue doing it.
I wonder if demoman still have dynamite pack in those early versions? Also i've got question: am i suppose to download 440 or 441 or 442 depot?

Huh, this is really interesting! I can't wait to see what gets found in these ancient files

It should only work if your account has a version of the game right? As in if you don't own a copy of the game you can't get a different version of it.
It seems to work for me without a username or password. Ive downloaded version 0 and 1 of the games. Fun stuff, pictures incoming edit: ding ding ding found what i wanted edit2: this seems to be the version uploaded after some trailers were made, the soldier is not tan in version 0

Please, I and others would really like the nailgun and tranquilizer textures.

Hello. Yes please do share some pictures. Slap them on in HLMV and see what changes.
mirv_lightwarp is in the final game unless it's a different mirv_lightwarp

Someone should attempt to use Gource and generate a video visualizing all the versions if it does work.
mirv_lightwarp is in the final game unless it's a different mirv_lightwarp
ive compared them all; these are different. screenshots incoming, i have to update to steampipe. in the meantime since the materials folder is too big enjoy the lightwarps. I trust you know where to put them. http://puu.sh/2LEDn.7z
Mind sharing that materials folder?
The materials folder is what seens to download when I open it with the shortcut-settings "depotdownloader.exe -cellid 49 -username anonymous -password anonymous -depot 442 -version 0" (Cellid simply being the download location for faster speed, depot being the important part), for those who want it.
Mind sharing that materials folder?
Just download appid 442 [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/0kn5WSc.png[/thumb]
- Guess not v:v:v -
You heard it here first, folks. We now have an OFFICIAL beta lightwarp for TF2.
And the difference is absolutely staggering! [t]http://i.imgur.com/oPQra12.png[/t]
I'm mostly curious about how the scrapped weapons work, especially the Tranquilizer ...unless they were scrapped before this build
