I feel dumb for asking this but, what am I supposed to do with the .rar files once I download them? I checked the thread but I still have no clue where to put them and all. Also, I have the very old TF2 on my computer (the one that people downloaded to get the old SFM), can I use these files on that version of TF2?
How 'bout that version ? Since some players played it (dunno if it's at Valve...), we can maybe find it no ?
original teleporter looks shoddy and dangerous as hell I kinda like it

What does the Script folder contain? Maybe if we copypasted the script code from Heavy's Minigun and the Sentries we could get the muzzleflash for them as well and get the true Beta Muzzleflash! [editline]3rd May 2013[/editline] Anyway. Time to get working on Beta shit. First up is The Bear Trap
original teleporter looks shoddy and dangerous as hell I kinda like it
One thing I never understood, the teleporter is practically a spinning arm. How can you stand on it without mutilating your feet in the process? Don't tell me it's forcefields, you can do it while it's shutting down as well.
actually when you try and record gameplay of tf2 in source filmmaker you load up and play the very first release version of tf2. i figured you could probably get the exact same files out of that...? i kinda thought this was common knowledge
It's not the first public release, it's the code from the Medic Update, but with all the files from the latest version.
uh guys can someone upload a video how to use this please? i have no idea how to do this PS: rate this dumb
uh guys can someone upload a video how to use this please? i have no idea how to do this PS: rate this dumb
1. Download the DepotDownloader 2. Extract it, make a shortcut for DepotDownloader.exe 3. Right-click the shortcut, go to properties and add '-depot 442 -version 0 -username iamsam -password samiam' to the textbar, to the very end of the textbar (This downloads the earliest TF2 materials) 4. Use shortcut 5. And your done. Also, there's a .vtf for explosionfiresmoke in the particles folder and various textures used by the already-at-this-point scrapped grenades. Just wanted to point out.

what I actually noticed from that gameplay video were a few things. 1: Beta Signs (actual ones and not ones I made) 2: Beta Muzzleflash on Minigun (which the mod doesn't have) 3: Beta Teleporter particles (which looks cooler) 4: Medic's head wasn't ubercharged (does that mean I could shoot him in the head and kill him?)

Also, can you link to your beta signs? I want to use them

okay so I'm going to clear some things up. You don't have to enter a password for TF2's files. It doesn't have to go through Steam3, so no login required. Anything else will need a username and a password. It works with SteamGuard on. The total materials depot (442) size is 1.11 GB. The total game depot (441) is 1.29 GB. The total client depot (443) is somewhere around 4.54 MB, it contains only client.dll. As mentioned earlier in the thread, there seems to be another, possibly older branch, but its locked away under dev beta passwords. You cannot get files from depot 1840 (SFM). I haven't been able to get any other depot files for any other games.

Nice to see that the Team Fortress Wiki now has the grenades textured! ..I'm not saying what was crappy back then should be brought back, I just think Beta content could be nice in Source Filmmaker.
looks like engie has the beta head in that video, demo too
Demo too? I didn't notice, probally is the quality. Also another thing i notice: at 1:10, we can notice the danger line or the capture zone line was different, i think it was team colored
looks like engie has the beta head in that video, demo too
so i went to that video and activision made tf2 you heard it here first
so i went to that video and activision made tf2 you heard it here first
Not really beacuse we heard it first at youtube comment section.
How about the other games? With this, we can discover more about the past of those games!
I hope an older version of Portal 1 is still on here. Even if it's more broken then the HL2 leak, I would still love to look at it.
While looking at the Flying Guillotine model files I noticed that it had 2 models. World and View. So now I want your guys honest answer. Should I make the Bear Trap animated to chomp when thrown? Like it bites your enemies and that's why it deals a lot of damage. Or should I keep it unanimated and boring? Animated - Agree Nonanimated - Disagree

It was actually pretty surprising for me when I saw that it didn't have any bones or anything in it.
I just found a fuck-ton of civilian soundfiles at tf\sound\player Not sure if this has been said before.
