One question: why it was reduced to 4 the GL? I don't know, doesn't make sense
Go play the PS3 version, which still has the original pre-release beta Demoman configuration and rules, and then come back and tell me that six loaded grenades with 30 in reserve makes sense. :v:
I'm reasonably sure these were in the GCF at the original Orange Box launch. I'm willing to be proven wrong, though.
As somebody who still plays TF2 on the console, I can confirm that the old voices are in there. When you take fall damage you can hear them for any of the classes. Also on the console version, there's no backstab or headshot animations, no building carrying, skywalking teleporter glitches on 2fort and dustbowl, underneath the map glitches on gravel pit, bunny hopping exploits, no airblast, jump taunting by pressing the jump and taunt button at the same time, no class specific domination lines, no hats, and needle jumping, which is when a medic shoots in mid-air with his needle gun and you go flying into the air if you jump into the path of his needles. Also ned_ballad's nightmare: no crit glows on weapons. Also, I wonder if the tf2 ultra settings config can work on those previous versions. Could somebody make a tutorial on how to get this TF2 running in game, if possible?
just curious, why do you even play on the console?
Probably because he wanted to take a peek at one of EA's stupidest decisions. Of course, Valve better update their Orange Boxes to exclude TF2 damnit!
Ya'll should also keep in mind that TF2 (or any game, really) will eventually no longer be available on Steam2. With that, it'll no longer be possible to download any arbitrary version of a depot. So in the interest of archiving: don't sit around and wait. The whole reason Valve is rolling out their new content system "steampipe" is to get rid of their aging, complex, and slow Steam2 content servers. With TF2 having already been converted to steampipe, it's entirely possible for them to start removing specific depots and at some point in the future shutting down the Steam2 servers entirely.
..Hey, what about BLU Demoman's and RED Beta medic's head textures? The Wiki mentions 'em, you know
Image included on the Demo's wiki article: [t]http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/7/71/Unused_demoman_head_blue.jpg[/t] Hey... didn't Marphy Black make this? I wouldn't be surprised if some guy had his beta mods installed and just got confused thinking he found something legit. I've been looking through the pre-order beta and version 0 files and they're just not there.
How 'bout that version ? Since some players played it (dunno if it's at Valve...), we can maybe find it no ?
I kinda like the old CP hologram.
The grenades on the PS3 version are ridiculously underpowered.
And this is the part where we mention his ridiculously overpowered stickybombs.
Maybe in version 0 (Private Steam Testing Probatly) of Source Filmmaker there were available all assets meet the medic maps, projects etc. Somebody should try download it. Also: How can i get depot id for Source Filmmaker?
Depot ID for SFM is 1841 Sorry if I'm late
Don't forget about the scarless version of the Sniper's face texture.
Like this [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/ZTFqRWa.png[/thumb]
Depot ID for SFM is 1841 Sorry if I'm late
Sorry if this is stupid, but would this be able to get us SFM stuff currently unreleased, i.e. the Meet the Sniper theme?

Yeah I'm not sure how to install them either. I quite like the beta lightwarp.
Did I do the Beta Lightwarp right?
how
how
Probably the vpk method
Did I do the Beta Lightwarp right?
Go on...
Probably the vpk method
If someone can post the files for the lightwarp, i can give a try to make a .vpk of it.
1. download the lightwarp files from page 3 2. copy weapon_lightwarp and rename the copies to pyro_lightwarp, mirv_lightwarp and hand_lightwarp (aka rename them to the other names) 3. copy the files into the right folders (mirv-hand-weapon_lightwarp into custom/FOLDERNAME/materials/models/lightwarps, pyro_lightwarp into custom/FOLDERNAME/materials/models/players/pyro 4. Start up Tf2 If some of you can't do it I'll upload the files to the mod emporium and if your final product doesn't look like my picture, download the phongless pack, it goes perfectly with it.
Going to try to make it later, kinda busy here :v School stuff
not even close to beta, it's just the hard edged weapon lightwarp (which is exactly the same as the one we have now) mixed with phongless pack, which is where most of the difference comes from. I guarantee it will look pretty bad in game and isn't the effect you want. [editline]6th May 2013[/editline] what the fuck are you disagreeing with he specifically says he replaced the other lightwarps with the weapon one. This is nothing new, we've always been able to do that. And yes, these are the same lightwarps. Look at this image. The top half is the current lightwarp. The bottom is from v0. Same shit it's not the Beta lightwarp at all and the player lightwarp was made different for a reason. The fact that there's no rimlighting or phong is clearly the phongless pack, nothing else. Anybody who knows anything about Source can see that. And again, the rimlighting and phong are there for a reason. You're just taking out carefully designed stylistic components. And finally, let's compare this to an actual beta screenshot *has phong *has rimlighting *soft shadows with a slight red tint
So okey, i want to test out this lightwarp from version 0 but something is making confuse: i can't just place them(the materials for the v0 lightwarp) on where they should go and voila? Like this: The way Elder did is kinda confusing, but well, let's give a try
Couple questions. Has anybody actually gotten the old version running or just looked at materials lightwarps etc, if so what depots/files did you need?
Has anyone gotten this to successfully gotten this to auth to steam3? I turned off steam guard and I can't seem to get it to auth, which is necessarily for downloading direct app ids like 10, 70, 500 etc

just curious, why do you even play on the console?
Because I have a group of friends on xbox who play it and it's more enjoyable and balanced than PC even if it has some glitches. Ironically, there's still less glitches on console than there is on PC, with the PC having tons of unoptimized weapons and hats, wonky balance, some broken animations and team coloring, and messed up textures. The console may not look as pretty as maxed out PC at 60+ fps, but it feels more polished and nice without all of he hats and paints and gimmicky weapons. The community on the console also feels less obnoxious without the ability for people to type stupid stuff into a chat box, which is more relaxing. There's still kids and incompetent people, but you can carry a team if you're good enough because everyone is using controllers with the same general sensitivities. Also, the Xbox just feels more interactive than steam. Don't know what it is, but ever since my Xbox recently broke and I got a new computer, I don't feel as close to the group of friends I play with on PC compared to those I play with on Xbox. Maybe it's because a lot of the people I've met on the console community don't seem as um, high and mighty(?) as most of the PC community does.
It's funny, most Valve games are ridiculously polished on release, but TF2 wasn't. It's the only game that really needed updates to be playable imo.
Except not, that's retail tf2 with skins.
Woops, my bad. Regardless, the beta skins had all the qualities I listed. Here's a real example [t]http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/7/7a/Tf2trailer.png [/t]
About the position of the view model of the Bear Trap over Guillotine. I'm gonna have a animated rendered image of the world model with animation anytime soon.
