I just imagine the scream of tons fat little kids screaming in their computers for the ban.
I just imagine the scream of tons fat little kids screaming in their computers for the ban.
To be honest, most have but then hid it by saying shite like "oh...it was intentional" or "I don't care about my $8k backpack" etc etc.
I've heard LMAOBOX was updated this morning this morning to bypass VAC. Could anyone find any solid evidence on this?
I've heard LMAOBOX was updated this morning this morning to bypass VAC. Could anyone find any solid evidence on this?
The guy made a video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kacDIE8ajEA&feature=share but honestly who cares anymore
Well I would think that if Valve has the source code, they could keep cranking out VAC detections to LMAOBOX whenever it gets updated. Dunno how much work they're willing to put into it to do that though.
It was bound to happen around this time anyway. I'm just glad the banwave happened, it was glorious. So many dumb fucks losing all of their expensive shit and competitive sniper mains busted. They'll think twice before getting a crappy hack now that's for sure.
Guys, can someone explain to me the LMAOBOX's creator motivation / ok just any hack-makers? What's even the point of making a war against Valve and stuff? To show to everyone that you're the smart guy here, or just to push them to update their game? I literally can't understand if he's been a good or a bad person at this point.
They sell LMAObox premium for $20. That's the motivation.

It would be dumb to think that LMAOBox and other cheat programs wouldn't get past VAC again. It'd be even dumber to think that this will last, and that they'll never get caught again. Hopefully people realize that before dropping money on stupid shit to cheat at a videogame, but a fool and his money are easily parted.
Can come Valve hasn't taken any form of legal action if there's monetization to the program?

Somehow it was VALVe's fault he was hacking on his main which got detected (losing him unusuals on that account) so he branded it "LMAOBox" and created this (retarded) vendetta against VALVe for catching him out being an arsehole. Since then - it just became a money making venture since it's supposedly cheaper than AimAssist etc. Either way - it'll get detected again since VALVe have the source (I'm assuming since the git link was sent to them). The code doesn't belong to them but it hasn't stopped the likes of Blizzard suing hack makers in the past. They'll probably just be more cautious about the use of it, but they'll develop that oversized ego again and we'll be back to square one (another ban wave; another "It wasn't me" or "whatever..." moment). It was embarrassing how long it took for them to crack down on it. Truly it was (2+ bloody years, VALVe!). Now that they've got the source (via git link), I think they'll think twice about letting it last for so long. We already know how much of a nuisance it was (and how many it affected (hackers in that recent ban wave and victims alike) and since Overwatch is looming on the horizon, I don't think VALVe want TF2 players to be (forcefully) removed from TF2 and into Overwatch due to LMAOBox again. Even if they didn't care about the game, the key sales (or more so, the loss of them) would certainly bring more attention.

someone should make a secret deal with valve to make a cheat and make it really popular for free but it's extremely vulnerable to vac bans with intention to root out the cheaters
But people got so cozy with Lmaobox that they used it on their mains, I dont think anyone will make that mistake again.
Yep, even some of the richest tf2 players in the community got banned :downs:

Some of them Czech enough to make money while doing so.
The guy made a video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kacDIE8ajEA&feature=share but honestly who cares anymore
They may be back, yes. But their stuff undetected? Not for long. Valve has a huge chunk of the source code. And even if it was changed, they could still figure out who uses it. So many people who I had the misfortune to run into, like Kaybee, got the karma they needed for a long time.

I literally can't understand if he's been a good or a bad person at this point.
I don't have screenshots of specific conversations to back up these words, but the creator of lmaobox (he's Czech, btw) was quite vocal and active for a time on forums like r/tf2 and SPUF a couple of years ago. The thing I remember clearly is that it's a guy with a serious ego problem and a very skewed view on 'justice' and what a game company can and cannot do when banning accounts. He constantly taunted users and goaded over the fact that his cheats were undetected; at one point, his primary account got banned (with a bunch of expensive items on it), and suddenly he was all high and mighty, arguing that bans which make items bought with real money locked into accounts (and thus unusable) are unfair, that he demands Valve give him access to stuff he payed for or else etc. So he proclaimed some sort of vendetta against Valve and vowed to keep developing the cheat and make the public version as common as possible to screw up others' experience. At one point this probably became a nicely lucrative business so he realized it's probably best to stop publicly antagonizing the community and just work quitely behidn the scenes, letting other douchebags promote the hack and maintain its own subreddit and Steam group. I know this all sounds like hearsay, but I clearly remember witnessing these posts a couple of years ago (his identity was confirmed by a bunch of cheat users as well), and I have a pretty good memory for assholes like that and what they were saying.
I really doubt Lmaobox will be fixed again. I mean it took the source code getting leaked for anything to happen.
- snip - I know this all sounds like hearsay, but I clearly remember witnessing these posts a couple of years ago (his identity was confirmed by a bunch of cheat users as well), and I have a pretty good memory for assholes like that and what they were saying.
The person you're thinking of is not Tom, but Robert "gir489" Blody. Here's the post you're (most likely) thinking of. It's probably worth mentioning you should take anything gir489 says with a mountain of salt, considering his (very limited) skillset and childish behavior. There is some truth in what he says but he likes to overexaggerate and take credit for things he was given by people smarter than him.
Dosen't this banwave technically do little to nothing to stop those who use throwaway accounts to cheat with whatever for the 2 or so weeks it takes VAC to get around to them?
Yes, and to be honest, I still run into hackers, but now they're all throwaway accounts and they're much more blatant about their hacking.
Dosen't this banwave technically do little to nothing to stop those who use throwaway accounts to cheat with whatever for the 2 or so weeks it takes VAC to get around to them?
The biggest thing from all this is the high profile names getting banned and all the shits that liked to act like they were hot stuff and told people to "git gud" getting revealed as the shit stains they truly are for everybody to see. Hacking isn't gone no, but damn if all of this wasn't funny as hell.
Still plenty of hackers out there using a variant of LMAObox, one of them today had a really nasty one that would delete the chat function, it even cleared out the console command when I was playing replacing it with LMAObox's oh so lovely slogan. I'm still quite disappointed in Valve as there is always something out there, and even though many people are going to think twice about using a cheat program like that garbage, they should of been more vigilant and focused on putting resources into studying these programs so that they can quickly get rid of them. They can't just do a sweep every now and then, there has to be something or somebody in place that can do regular sweeps on a regular basis, make it harder to make alt accounts, etc... I feel like this shouldn't be rocket science, I understand that coding and the source engine is kind of complex, but there has to be SOMETHING.
i hate it when the lmaobox users treat this as some sort of war
So, what's the creator's motive? Is it to play us all for his own thesis while making money from it?
So, what's the creator's motive? Is it to play us all for his own thesis while making money from it?
IIRC the creator's main account got VAC'd so now he creates lmaobox in hatred of (and to spite) valve also to make money for college.
