LMAOBOX is finally dead. Valve takes a stance against cheaters!

Cheater is still cheater. No matter how much hats he have or how far has he gotten in UGC.
Zero respect.
Glad to see that whole situation happened. Even if it looks shocking in few cases.

Valve has put the entire code of the programming into the VAC System, meaning even if someone tries to replicate it, it wont work.
Nope, doesn't work like that at all.
They were using an exploit in VAC (which was patched in other VAC games) which allowed it to hide under the radar (it was bypassing a specific search in the PE header of the file (a PE header being the first part of a compiled file which contains the owner, type of file, executable type etc), which reported back to VAC's scan it was a legit GPU driver and not a hack, or so I hear) so VALVe patched it (by making it double check everything, instead of just going "Oh ok. Thanks for telling me" like it was doing before).
When they add a hack to the database, they add the unique program's signature (so in this case, LMAOBox) to the blacklist.
MaxBox (who cheats himself) RAT'd "Tom's" PC, got the source of his "premium" loader/LMAOBox and emailed Eric about it. 3 days later - huge wave and the hole has been patched (no more spoofing). Since that hole was exploited by a LOT of loaders to remain undetected - expect not just LMAOBox hackers to be banned.
So... what's UGC going to do now that it's confirmed that there were cheaters playing and winning in their leagues? I know if I was playing and doing well enough only to be shut down by some underhanded tactics, I'd want for not only the offending player to be punished, but the rest of his team to be punished as well since they clearly benefited the most from having players like that on their team.
I'm glad that something is being done, but the old man in me is also saying "NOT GOOD ENOUGH!" as we can clearly see from two people here gloating/moaning at what has happened. If close to 10K users were banned because they used the program to chat, that's not a good thing in my eyes. Valve has ignored this game so much that it got pretty bad, and I'm seeing people say that they avoided public games because of these cheaters, and they probably still won't even go near those servers. This should of been taken care of well before Valve decided to go all gung-ho on catering to the competitive crowd, they should of made it harder for people to cheat, given them harsher punishments, make it so that they're afraid to even say what program they use. I'm glad a good majority of them are gone, but there will still be the little shits with no time and plenty of disposable income that will persist on being as much of a jackass as possible, and exploit the system for their own benefit.
I'm sorry to be a wet blanket here, but this situation is just silly to me. Also, for the two cheaters... you may want to bite your tongues, if Valve really is trying to clean up before the release, do you really think they won't do another sweep to see what they missed?
An Admin made a post about how disappointed they were with the UGC community in that - a lot of the 'high tier' players being VAC banned could have been banned from the league(s) earlier had anyone actually reported them but no one did because they didn't want to be "that guy" (a snitch) who would get the wrong sort of attention.
He took a screencap of his steam chat window which is about 3 miles long and has loads of people saying things like "I thought he was cheating, but didn't want to be embarrassed if I were wrong".
I give it 3 weeks before a shitstain like that is back to having fun with it
Also the only reason I know LMAOBOX is those goddamn fucking bots that spam those LMOA git gud messages and can't be kicked because of some weird vote bypass system.
It also might explain why so many spies I fought against lately had rediculous headshot rates with their revolvers, it was getting out of hand
The funny thing is - someone reversed the code and all those 'features' are actually ripped from freely available sources on sites like unknowncheats.
In other words - he profited off of other people's code by copy-pasting it in and twiddling with values.

My new desktop background for sure!
There are no undetected hacks currently if I'm right. Aimware & NCC are detected too. But yea, LMAOBox will be updated soon, and sooner or later, prob after a few weeks after completely integrating competetive, TF2 will be left alone again.
Wouldn't hold your breath. The exploit which was used to keep it undetected took a fucking age to find out, and now that it's been patched - expect another ice age to appear before another 'undetectable' exploit is released to the public.
[I'm in no way promoting hacks by the way. I'm pointing out that all those who are trying to justify their money getting flushed down the toilet have actually lost the money at this point, and aren't getting a 'functional' product for a while]
how do I ruin it, if I only use LMAOBox in MvM? :p
Point of the game is to win against bots....by being a bot?
Colour me confused here but I think we've got a traitor in our midsts.
[editline]30th April 2016[/editline]
VAC is two systems, a memory scanner (which isn't enabled on all games) and a blacklist.
This is why if some cheats are constantly rotated and modified they wont get detected, or where they are just not released to the public at all they wont get detected.
Lmaobox its self isn't detected, its the injection method that is.
Don't be surprised if it comes back within a week, this happens constantly with stuff like aimware in csgo so wont be surprised if it happens with TF2, specially because TF2 has had a large portion of the memory scanner of VAC disabled since forever, its why speedhacks still work in TF2 and not in CSGO and so on.
Don't ask why it was partially disabled, was Valve's decision and pretty dumb one.
Eitherway game's still boring as fuck and this wont get me back into playing it, just nice to know more kids got caught and the ongoing drama is golden.
What's quite interesting is, supposedly every user of "premium" got a unique .exe to inject into the game to help prevent mass-banwaves of users (so if 1 user is 'detected', the others using unique headers etc won't be) but you're right in saying the injection method was patched. Supposedly, TF2 was the last of the 'VAC' games to still have the exploit they used to make it undetected in the first place, and now that it is patched - they're in for a fun time trying to figure out more holes to use.

Oh, her.
This girl was someone who would hack on pubs, and then yell at players for getting killed. I encountered her on MvM one night with a few friends, and I got kicked on the first round for playing Scout correctly.
Have a nice Vaccation, Kaybee, you stupid bitch.
THE VAC
IS BAC
Valve fulfilled the wishes of every TF2 tryhard who wanted Spring Break to last forever. Have a good VACation. No VACancy.
VACate the premises immediately. Okay I'll stop

I see you had the unfortunate chance of encountering this bitch.
this crazy and toxic woman always try to instigate drama on some tf2 community that I used to be active on. She would always gives my freinds shit and a hard time there before admins had to talk to her personally to shut the fuck up. Holy shit, she acts like she's 6 and her steam profile is cringy to look at.

holy god lmao
Even if more hacks come into existence I can at least rest easy knowing that some people lost thousands of dollars worth of items. Now to eagerly await the next ban wave and see it happen again!
nah that wont happen. i used a completely different pc just for the alt. different emails, no phone numbers attached to either account. my main is fine
She even once came on to my server and was being a little shit. It was a horrible encounter, but karma finally came and put a bullet in her account.
Despite the very positive outcome of this whole situation and the hilarious fallout of the LMAObox users: way too fucking late if you ask me.
The only reason this happened is because of complete coincidence, and incompetence on the developer's part assuming if VNN's sources are true. If it was really this easy to crackdown 3 years ago, people should've done something about it in that time period before it quickly grew into what it had become in later years. Another thing is that it doesn't take much to start back at square one, not by a long shot.
While I don't play live TF2 anymore and this just so happened to be one of the many reasons why I left (straight up laughable how this was, before, a sizeable problem even in Valve official pubs), in a way, I feel a sense of closure now that players either old or new and find there to be enjoyment in the game still, don't have to deal with this shit anymore. No playerbase should period.
Wouldn't this be a perfect moment for a redistribution of the Cheater's Lament?
Wouldn't this be a perfect moment for a redistribution of the Cheater's Lament?
To shamelessly copy someone's comment regarding that:
Upgrade every existing Cheater's Lament to Cheater's Lamentier. [Sp]Because Ghastlier Gibus[/SP]. And then distribute new Cheater's Laments to everyone who wasn't VAC'ed.

I find it strange why a lot of these people are trying to find ways to justify their behavior. I think it'd make a nice psychology report.
Its funny to see all these pro UGC sniper mains get vacced, lose thousands in items and unusuals, and then pull the "I-I was only PRETENDING to be retarded" card, only to damage their overinflated ego even more
but JCapps just puts the icing on the cake, then adds another layer of cake to put icing on after losing over twenty THOUSAND dollars in items and one of the less than ten burning team captains in existence along with a golden pan and 3 HOUWARs, only to pull the same "I was only P-PRETENDING" cards like everyone else to the point where he adds everyone that comments on his profile to explain why he isn't mad when he obviously is.
I wonder if anyone killed themselves over the vacc wave yet
They know what they're doing is bad, but they don't give a fuck about what other people think.
no it's the opposite. They want to come off as decent folks to save their rep and items

This is not correct. If you had looked at the UGC thread where the news first broke, you'd see it was miggy who emailed Eric over a month ago. MaxBox is trying to take credit to get attention and donations on his twitch stream to buy himself tickets and travel to PAX.
