Its not this week. Its probably not even next week.
At this point I'm convinced that the guys who tweet about competitive are just stirring shit up for the sake of getting people over-excited.
At this point I'm convinced that the guys who tweet about competitive are just stirring shit up for the sake of getting people over-excited.
IMO it's not entirely their fault, the community has a knack for taking little things and getting over-hyped over basically nothing, which eventually leads to major disappointment. Remember that crap with EOTL?

It's one thing for something to leak, either accidentally or deliberately, and the community to blow it out of proportion, it's another for an originally credible source to go on and on about how "something supr bigs cummin up gaiz ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;)))))))))))))))))))) i hop ur as rdy as i am coz its gna happn soon ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;))))))))))))))))))))", especially since what was "supposed to happen" hasn't happened in, what, the 2-3 weeks since he started banging on? Unless a ranked matchmaking update hits sometime next week, the guy is fucked. An announcement about a beta starting in the next year isn't something important enough to warrant all this hype.

That Valve has once more been unable to work with deadlines shouldn't be attributed to the poor people Valve provides false ETAs to.

I have no idea how the teams don't just implode because no one knows what the fuck is going on
I don't see anyone else excited about competitive other than the people who are already in the competitive scene one way or another. It means nothing for the rest.
I don't see anyone else excited about competitive other than the people who are already in the competitive scene one way or another. It means nothing for the rest.
there's some hope the update will be bundled with new items or something
there's some hope the update will be bundled with new items or something
Cool, more underpowered/overpowered weapons instead of fixing what we currently have. I'm not usually this pessimistic but Valve has proven to me they don't exactly care all that much about TF2 anymore compared to their other games. (And some people refuse to accept it.)

I'm more excited for a giant bug fix update since its been a few weeks. I look forward to optimization and hat fixes/re-dos. Also wasn't Vanguard going to get a big patch?
On the topic of fixing animations, I'd really like to see a fix for that weird jolt motion the Soldier does when he begins to reload the Blackbox. I don't know why that little error bugs me so much.
I'd love it if the Demoman didn't miss the Iron Bomber by 10 feet every time he re-loaded
There's a lot more people interested in comp matchmaking than just those already invested in competitive
I'd love it if the Demoman didn't miss the Iron Bomber by 10 feet every time he re-loaded
Loose Cannon has this problem too. What is it with the Demoman loading his grenade launchers the wrong way?
There's a lot more people interested in comp matchmaking than just those already invested in competitive
I'm using it as a entry into the comp scene, so I honestly am looking forward to it. Not only that, but beefed-up valve servers with no crits and no autobalance? Sign me the hell up
It seems John Cook (TF Co-Founder) has been removed from Valve's website as well.
Loose Cannon has this problem too. What is it with the Demoman loading his grenade launchers the wrong way?
Weapons animations are hard. We can have animations for a grappling hook in a gamemode nobody likes or wanted, but we can't have the Demoman actually put grenades in the right slot.
There's a lot more people interested in comp matchmaking than just those already invested in competitive
Can you name anyone excited that diesbt play tf2 already? Or people who will return?
I know quite a few people who would at least give TF2 a second chance if there was a form of ranked matchmaking. A lot of people I know either left because lack of content, or got tired of valve server 12 v 12 spamfests. Not to mention it would give players an incentive to actually improve.
Can you name anyone excited that diesbt play tf2 already? Or people who will return?
Didn't Funke make a whole video on this matter?
Can you name anyone excited that diesbt play tf2 already? Or people who will return?
Most people I mention TF2 to usually say "Oh, I played that a while ago. I only really play League now. Oh, they're adding competitive matchmaking? I might start playing again!"
Sorry for my really horrible typing of "doesn't", autocorrect didn't kick in on my phone. Anyways, I guess I just don't think it'll be a huge amount of player count boost is all.

Some people here might not care, but don't forget that other people can hold views that are different from yours!!
I really want the TF team do fix a lot of weapon animations in TF2.
I really want the TF team do fix a lot of weapon animations in TF2.
They should fix invisible players as well. Probably won't happen though:cry:
- Every shotguns ejecting from the wrong way - All the shells eject backwards - Rocket Launcher animation "hiccups" when reloading between the 1 and 2nd rocket - Soldier is still missing the pump sound during his reload (Heavy seems to have gotten it) - all the sniper rifles eject the wrong way as well - Pyro isn't even holding the Phlogistinator - The Widowmaker, Pomson 6000, Machina,The Classic, & the loch and load all need unique animations - Smoothing on the pocket pistol doesn't even exist Should I keep going?
