So, what maps have been "updated to support comp?" What does that even mean?

This update is looking so good right now.
I'm still trying to figure out if being able to turn regular stranges into stat clocks is an intended feature or if it was a mistake. Like is this another way to try and get rid of the thousands of unwanted stranges lying around the market like chemistry sets were? Or should one panic trade for stranges asap to get clocks before its patched. Either way at least finally my citizen pain will get the lovin it deserves.

Apparently the patch notes are supposed to come out tomorrow (for matchmaking), so maybe that's when more of the update is released?

There's several regular maps updated along with the current mission maps. Maps that were changed are gullywash, viaduct, granary, doublecross, foundry, process, snakewater, badlands and turbine for comp mode.

It's crazy how a good sound can make killing more satisfying. The sound it makes when you get a kill in a contract is part of what made contracts so great, and now they're in available normal gameplay.

Dear lord. I hope it's just Valve trying to make clear to new players that you don't get first blood crits in any other game mode but Arena. edited for clarity

You can pick up weapons while comp mode is on. Meaning uber steals are in effect.
