I'd love to have a new MVM tour that works around changes made since, with new enemy types and such. Remember those Gnome Heavies that had crit mittens? How about Micro Scouts that are crazy fast, holding Fan o Wars? Frail on their own, but they mark you while sprinting all over the place. Just crazy little things like that.

I saw lots of crazy stuff, like... - mini-Snipers with rifles doing around 10 DMG yet their shots have insane knockback. -mini-Medics with an almost constant quick-fix uber, yet the uber did not really extra heal, it just stopped pushback. They were mostly alongside Giant-Scouts for the bomb stuff. -Some kind of Boss Engineer which basically spawned mini-sentries everywhere he went. - Did I say mini-Engineers spawning mini-sentries? And my favorite, honestly, there were Spies which, upon backstabbing, would launch the person. The reactions were priceless.

Last time I played a community MvM mission there was tons of overpowered, unfun bullshit. Like headless "ghost" bots that take no damage and just slowly rotate their aim around swinging their melee weapon while moving on their path. They could only be killed with environment stuff. I think there was also some kind of boss with 25 billion HP and an instagib weapon. It's been a long time.
Last time I played a community MvM mission there was tons of overpowered, unfun bullshit.
this describes 95% of custom mvm accurately
It does have warning, though. It has the hum as it arrives and another noise as the tractor beam starts. It gives you a good 4-5 seconds from the start of the hum to get under the awning where it doesn't lift you up, or away from the central area/ inside the building. It also is far less likely to swoop in during the last ten seconds of a teams koth timer (it still can in some instances). During a double overtime, it shouldn't show up at all.
Huh, does it? I usually have good enough hearing to hear player footsteps, yet it sounded like silence when I was capping one time alone with no one around me and still got sucked up, is the point capping sound effect drowning it out? Also, it has happened to me with overtime.

You guys think Asteroid, once it's released, will have its own Valve RD servers with just one map, or will they try and shove it into the CTF rotation, like Doomsday, even though it plays totally differently than most ctf maps? Was thinking if having a few ''Valve One-off Mix'' rotation servers was a good idea, hosting all the non-Arena maps/modes that are kind of a one-off thing and which currently see no play for various reasons. They could have Asteroid (once it's finished), Watergate (seemed to be quite popular and well-received, despite being prone to one-sided outcomes), Doomsday (doesn't fit CTF), Standin (more of a new mode than linear 5CP or 3CP), Degroot Keep (it's a silly, goofy mode that seems to have a niche), hell, even Hydro could be thrown in there so people get at least a once-in-a-blue-moon chance to play it. Honestly, while I quite liked both Asteroid and Watergate, I doubt either mode is likely to end up with a lot of official maps (Valve will grow bored of RD soon, and Watergate has such a specific joke premise and a specific way of delivering points that I can't imagine mappers making many more and having them officially added to the game), so I wonder how they'll treat them server-wise.
I'd love to have randomized, endless waves for MvM, like something out of plants vs. zombies.
I'm more than willing to bet that Asteroid and Cactus Canyon will be released when they finish the next comic, or close to it.
With the direction the comic is going this is pretty much the only option. Like the comic itself I'd say they meant to finish it and release it sooner but then Valve Time happened.
Do you guys think they'll fit Melee hit detection? (If that's even possible cause it's shit)
Do you guys think they'll fix the hit detection? (If that's even possible cause it's shit)
FTFY
Do you guys think they'll fit Melee hit detection? (If that's even possible cause it's shit)
I wish I could use the Disciplinary Action without it going through teammates 90% of the time.
That and i wish whenever i hit someone with a melee, the hit actually registers instead of just playing the sound pretending it did.
I want TF Team to update their hit-boxes, similar on how CS:GO gotten.
the first and foremost thing all melee weapons need is hitting as soon as you click your mouse, like the spy knife. it won't entirely fix *everything* but it'll still be a gigantic improvement
I wish I could use the Disciplinary Action without it going through teammates 90% of the time.
I want to tell Valve about it but then they might notice how stupid the range is and change it :( [editline]27th December 2015[/editline]
the first and foremost thing all melee weapons need is hitting as soon as you click your mouse, like the spy knife. it won't entirely fix *everything* but it'll still be a gigantic improvement
Melee does take some sort of skill, timing your swings and getting your opponent's swings out of sync, and spy's instant knife takes advantage of that. I don't think that would be a good idea.
-snip im dumb-
Since always. RoBro can only be dropped in MvM.
I want TF Team to update the hit-boxes, similar on how CS:GO gotten.
Damn that engie and his non corporeal dick but in all seriousness, yeah, especially melee/projectile boxes. The system is from 1997 and it shows
Melee does take some sort of skill
good one.
Amidst spending 50 dollars on keys this update, this is my result at the end. Pretty happy.
Know how long it has been since we've gotten an MvM map? December 20th, 2012 Valve has a really awful habit of generating ideas for TF2 and then just leaving them to rot after less than a year of working on them in the public, see: -Medieval Mode -Mann vs Machine -Robot Defense Probably going to be the same fate of Mannpower and PASS Time, really. All of the Arena maps also came within a year of each other sans Byre (August 19th, 2008 - August 13th, 2009), as well.
Don't forget Special Delivery, while we're on the subject of ignored and unloved modes. Anyways, with how the comics unceremoniously killed Gray Mann in the most anti-climatic and lame way ever, I wouldn't count on more MVM mode updates. Unless Olivia takes over for him...though honestly mercenaries vs Olivia doesn't really have the same feel as mercenaries vs Gray, even if they did manage some Bioshock jokes out of it. I think having Classic Heavy kill him off was a horrible plot choice. If all it takes is an elderly mercenary to kill him, then why did it take the mercenaries that long to kill Gray Mann? Even more so if all it's going to take to kill Classic heavy is a Medic and a barely alive Sniper. I really liked the MVM plot, it was a little absurd, funny and interesting, but mixing it up with the Classic plot was a bad idea in my opinion. As of now there's two many characters, many who die before I care about them. They could've just as easily been replaced with faceless mooks for how much time they got. I hesitate to even call them characters, they're more like cameos than anything. A "Look, classic mode? Remember that? Hahah!" sort of thing. I cared about Gray Mann getting his ass kicked, I wanted to see some big battle and finish to this plot. I don't really give a shit about Classic Heavy. He feels like a mid-boss at best, and he's not even a compelling mid-boss. We know jack shit about his backstory, his personality, his motivations. The only personality I can ascribe to him is "an asshole." and maybe he cares about his teammates, though not Medic apparently. Gray Mann at least had motivations, something of a personality and enough development in the story for me to care about him getting defeated. I doubt they're going to make him the actual big bad as it looks like they're going to set up Admin for that maybe, but even then there's not really enough time to develop Admin as big bad. They're trying to fit too much in at once. The comics should've either been larger, or cut out huge parts entirely to focus on A plots, and the Classic stuff could've been in a future plot. As it is, starting from mid-way into BITW everything has just been a mess. Which is a shame as 1-3 are actually very strong, and I really like some of the characters introduced there.
Personally i was rooting for Gray. He was going to end the endless red/blu idiocy and bring some sorely missed seriousness back to the world, and pose an actual threat to the mercenaries and the Administrator herself, but was just axed off without ceremony now that said, if Olivia decided to avenge gray and become the new central villian/anti hero, that would be cool, but we'll see. what i think the comic needs more of a sense of world, we saw Teufort and a desolate Siberian outpost, but that's about it. I want to know more about the regular joes of TF2. How does spytech level technology have them live? What effect does the eternal slapfight of Redmond/Blutarch have on them? I'd really like to know, and more 60's retrofuturistic stuff the better as far as i'm concerned

Sweet jesus that wave has been bothering me for years now. Nobody could understand what was happening. We only knew he was there at all because sentries would mysteriouslly get sapped when nobody was looking. After futzing around for half an hour eventually everyone quit the server, and I've been haunted since. I'm just glad to finally learn what the feg was even going on.
Guys, when you talk about updates - you stick to the lore too much. If it really was so important they would have to stop updating or remove PvP part of the game - pretty much the same thing as if they would stop update MvM because of comics. Plus, we don't have any dates in-game, so stuff in game can easily happen in different timeframes compared to comics.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but judging from Randomizer and servers with Giveweapon plugins, it seems the Golden Wrench has its textures completely broken.
