While I mostly agree with you, I would like to point out that overspecialization is poor balancing in general. Unlocks should ideally engender a unique and effective alternative to existing options--neither superior nor inferior, but different.
I'll never stop being entertained by the way you write things. Not saying it's bad, in fact you put the idea of an unlock into words perfectly, it's just the place you choose to do so- in an online internet forum- is baffling to me
:snip:
Chargin targe is useless now that it can't shut down afterburn Loose cannon is literally broken right now, as it fires in your face most of the time for no reason Zatoichi would have been okay had they kept the overheal with no cap on it Loch-n-load is just fine as it is. Deals tons of damage to buildings, making it a good replacement to sticky launchers for someone who is as unskilled as I can be. Tide turner is balanced right now in my opinion Claymore is a crappy version of zatoichi right now. We want the old one back! I really like the current persuader. The splendid screen is really the only shield worth using in most situations right now. This is coming from someone who has played a lot of demonight.
the Splendid Screen and Chargin' Targe are now really good with launchers and pretty useful as an escape tool. The debuff on charge aspect is extremely downplayed by people.
I agree completely. Charging removing debuffs is one of the great things right now.
So, on a actual note of news, as of an hour ago there are now South American servers for Brazil
OH MY GOOOOOD This is great news! South America will finally be able to play normally, the contracts will be easier to execute and... I have 200+ ping in Brazil servers. Welp, that was good while it lasted.

I kinda want a wrench that only lets you build up to level 2 sentries, just because I prefer level 2's over level 3's and that's literally my only reasoning. :goodjob: Me!
I kinda want a wrench that only lets you build up to level 2 sentries, just because I prefer level 2's over level 3's and that's literally my only reasoning. :goodjob: Me!
that's a pretty legit thing to want. there's no spotlight for level 2 stuff right now, they're just "there".
I think the real question is why you would prefer a level 2 Sentry over a level 3.
I think the real question is why you would prefer a level 2 Sentry over a level 3.
Personally I like it on a more visual level, not to mention a lack of rockets to be reflected provides it with a higher killing power. That said, not many players take advantage of the sentry's rockets anyways.
I think the real question is why you would prefer a level 2 Sentry over a level 3.
ive heard that level 2's have stronger knockback.
I think the real question is why you would prefer a level 2 Sentry over a level 3.
Honestly. I just prefer the looks of the Level 2 more and I feel the rockets just don't look right
So I don't die to my own sentry's rockets.
level 2 are pretty sweet for bodyblocking in MvM the rocket splash always ruins everything
Sorry if this is super late or has been already speculated on, but do we have an idea when the Matchmaking Beta Passes are going to start to be passed out? It seems strange to make the group and then do nothing with it for a while(not even an announcement other than a r/tf2 post), but then again it's Valve we're talking about.
I kinda want a wrench that only lets you build up to level 2 sentries, just because I prefer level 2's over level 3's and that's literally my only reasoning. :goodjob: Me!
Level 2 sentries are better for offense over level 3 sentries. They're cheaper, deploy faster, and have the same firepower, just lack the rockets, which are only good for countering cornerspam in tight spaces anyway, so only good for static defense. The only real downside of using level 2 sentries for offense is that they have -36hp in relation. Also in general, the biggest difference between upgrades is between level 1 and level 2, level 3 upgrade is usually not as worth (dispensers are an exception, they have linear progression on all accounts). I generally always upgrade everything to level 2 before moving on with my upgrades so as to get everything functional ASAP.
I remember reading an old comp tip about upgrading to Level 2 up to 3/4 of the way before moving it. Then it only goes through two upgrade animations before becoming active when redeployed. And it only takes one swing to make it Level 3.
I still waiting for a update with that metal pack sandvich. When Heavy drops, or "eats" (it would have other animation for sure) it, it'll act like ammo pack.
Even though I'm European, it's nice to see them adding official servers to Brazil/South America as well. Besides the fact that it might mean way less laggy players joining US servers (and occasionally they'll wonder into EU ones as well), it also shows they're rather commited to keep supporting the game for a long time. We've now got contract-enabled (and MM-enabled in the near future) servers decently covering all the continents but Africa (and, honestly, I don't think there's many players from there, apart from the odd South African or Egyptian). I still wish they'd extend contract support to registered and verified community servers, though, and reworked Quickplay so it gives some love to community servers as well (this includes changing the scoring/algorythm that seems to almost exclusively favor Skial's bot-filled instaspawn servers).
i can vouch for official turkish tf2 servers
FTFY :v:
Official Prague servers maybe?
chicago and texas servers might be good
I just remembered that Pass time exists.
I just remembered that Pass time exists.
It's actually really good too, and the developers are pretty enthusiastic - wish it could just be something in regular rotations rather than having specific servers.
Maybe that's 2early but would it be nice if we would have bets system on MM in TF2? Like what's gonna happen in Dota 2 (info from VNN).
TF2 Matches are incredibly unpredictable sometimes, so I'd be up for it.
