You could probably go for some boots if you run with the style that keeps the default hat with the bonk mask, otherwise I'd say go for a hat since the bonk mask by itself is pretty ugly imo

Although the colors of the Stovepipe Shako match the cape better than the Toy Soldier (even with Team Spirit paint, Toy Soldier is a bit dark), I personally think it looks a bit better. Using those funky gloves with the saxophone looks weird too- I'd swap them out for Earbuds for the music note particle effect.

I'd respectfully disagree, I'm not really a fan of the color selection and overall shape of the Toy Soldier and wearing Earbuds is a waste of a perfectly good cosmetic slot.
I use the Final Frontiersman because it covers both hands, changes the Sniper's pants color to match his vest more (particularly more noticeable on BLU), and works well with the Starduster. I'd sure prefer the fingers to match the glove color instead of the side padding though.

I'm having a really hard time making a cohesive Engineer loadout. I already have an Antarctic Researcher and I can't be bothered to sell it for something else, but nothing really works well (other than a straight boring Winter loadout). This is the best that I could come up with:

I played around with that set and paints and quickly realized that no amount of orange paint will make the orange of the Phononaut not look ugly. I [B]really[/B] wish you could have painted it.
Although, I found that the Tossle still looks nice and (in my opinion) keeps the theme going:

No way, you can totally make the orange, or more importantly, the cream spirit and operators overalls colours on the item, work great. Just yesterday I made the same loadout, the one on the left of this picture, but the right is there for another example.

Only problem with the right is, there's visible slight clipping. But nah, with the right paints, it looks great on both teams.

If the theme is: Scout is a jerk, but from space. Then I agree. I would recommend a different hat to be honest since the tosslemaker is really for those edgy backstreet loadouts with lots of lime green, yuck. Although I must admit the lime green that only applies to glowing bits kinda has a charm to it. I would instead recommend to replace the tossle these items:
The bombing run (could give you that cheesy 40's-50's space opera vibe)
Front Runner (A Potential Hero look complete with spiky hair, or sweat soaked droopy hair, your choice)
Greased Lightning (Same as Front Runner, but gives off that Blade Runner vibe)
Pomade Prince (Why not look like you're from a more clean and dignified future?)
Or use the no hat hat
I personally think Greased Lightning would be awesome on your Scout, with bombing run being second best. That's just me though. I don't think the Tossle is all that appealing.
