You'd be shocked with how much you can actually do with him. (Of course, the majority of good Pyro loadouts make him look nothing like the actual pyro.) I messed around with model viewer and here's some more examples

I use the Crocleather Slouch personally, I find the other cowboy-ish hats too cartoony.

hat with no name is objectively the best cowboy hat for like every single class that had a cowboy hat now.

While I do agree that Pyro has little to no stuff that can be unique and good-looking at once, but damn he can look good when you find a good looking, unique combination.

It seems when the creator updated it he forgot to make it's new texture, paintable.
The wiki has paintable textures displayed; it's likely a temporary bug.

A lot of them (spare the sniper and soldier) feel like semi-random collections of cosmetics!
I won't go into detail with all of them, but something that helped me break out of that was selling almost all of my cosmetics and starting over. You obviously don't need to do that totally, or even immediately, but start on loadout.tf and just make loadouts that you want [I]regardless of what you own[/I] and work towards those. The biggest reason people end up with oddly designed loadouts is they're using items that they happen to have around or cosmetics only because they're expensive.
Play around with new stuff.
Guess i better start crafting/(attempt to start) trading again. Thanks anyways.

There is some minimal clipping in the wrists, but overall I think it looks good.
I am looking for the Slo-Poke at the moment to complement this, or should I go with another hat?
The Slo-Poke setup is rather nice, looks kinda like US Cavalry.
