Lmao people pay a fucking key for that ugly edgy bandana??
The price on a Normal Ellis Cap is 500 keys. That's fucking $1000 for a NORMAL Ellis Cap. A burning Team Captain, in early TF2, sold for $4000. People will pay for what they want, but not for what they need.
Lmao people pay a fucking key for that ugly edgy bandana??
So this is edgy and ugly now? 1. It's an opinion but thanks for shitting on others as you always do 2. Wrong bandana
Given how huge of a portion of the community think it's super cool, I can't exactly explain it; I can only hope some of the people in this thread happen to know what I mean.
Given how huge of a portion of the community think it's super cool, I can't exactly explain it; I can only hope some of the people in this thread happen to know what I mean.
The only real "edgy" bandanas in tf2 are the villain's veil's skull style and double cross com, becasue of those "sooper edgy COD skulls". The Bruiser's Bandana and Other veil styles are really tame. The only reason the Bruiser's is worth so much is because its a good looking all class item, it has nothing to do with being "edgy"
For the Cold Killer and the Snow Scoper, yeah, 9 refined. But the Bruiser's Bandanna costs a key by itself, and the white paint for it is another $5.00 on top of that. The bandanna isn't necessary, of course - the outfit looks fine without it. Maybe find a cheaper item for the third slot.
None of the items are painted white in this, The hat is un-painted, and the 2 miscs are painted waterlogged, as seen on the right in the image below. The way paint effects the Cold killer is really wonky and has weird results: Left: All White, note how the cold killer doesnt match anymore and is barley effected by said white paint. Middle: All Waterlogged, note how the cold killer is now brownish colored instead of the mute white. Right: Only the miscs are waterlogged, note how they all match the cold killer almost perfectly, but as a result wont look as nice on blue team when worn together. i personally prefer just the miscs being painted waterlogged, but if you want blue team to match, you should roll with the middle. Don't use white paint however, as its fucking ugly and never looks good.

But I do disagree that white paint never looks good. It may not look bad in HLMV but it'll look really bad in brightly lit areas in-game. Waterlogged doesn't have much of that issue as its far more mute, it also doesn't hurt that it provides a tiny bit of team color, which is always nice: That being said, everyone has their own opinions, and i can only merely example what I am referring to: Waterlogged also isn't perfect either, but still you should understand my point.
Pure white will never look good in actual TF2, combined with tf2's in-game lighting it basically becomes a light bulb.
It looks fine in game. Yes, if you stand directly under a super bright light source, it glows a bit, but so does everything else. In any normal in-game lighting situations, it's perfectly fine. Don't believe me? Let's have a look! [T]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h50/StarwindPhoto/2015-07-27_00002.jpg[/T][T]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h50/StarwindPhoto/2015-07-27_00003.jpg[/T] [T]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h50/StarwindPhoto/2015-07-27_00005.jpg[/T][T]http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h50/StarwindPhoto/2015-07-27_00004.jpg[/T] Furthermore, in this particular case I actually considered and rejected Waterlogged for two distinct reasons. 1) I wanted to have a higher degree of contrast between the turtleneck and that weird kinda cream-brown colored fur lining on the coat. 2) The BLU version looks kinda awful with Waterlogged - it completely loses that clean, crisp 1930s gentleman-pilot look that the white provides. Seriously, I'm fine with you not liking white because of your own sense of taste, but stop being so critically absolutist and saying it can "never" look good - it quite clearly can and does look good to various senses of taste when used properly. I've gotten quite a few compliments on this loadout.
On over 90% of all items in-game, White and Black paints look absolutely horrid, either for white being really bright and and black being so saturated that it basically erases all detail. There's really no reason to drag along an argument like this, but 1 or 2 items that the paint looks good on, doesn't redeem the entire paint. Its like saying Lime and Pink are good paints because they look good on a very select few of items, it just doesn't work like that. You can call me absolutist if you wish, but a few good apples can't save a spoiled bunch.
"This thing is bad, with absolutely zero exceptions!" "Uhh... here's an exception right here." "Who cares about exceptions? They don't matter. I still say it's bad, except now it's because there aren't enough exceptions!" This is called moving goalposts. It's a cheap argumentative tactic where you try to avoid appearing wrong about something by backtracking and changing your arguments. It's a jerk thing to do. Please don't do it. If you make a statement, and someone can show that your statement was inaccurate, please just be gracious and admit that you made a mistake. No one will think less of you for that - but they will hold it against you for trying to weasel out of what you said.

Don't put words in my mouth, there is such a thing as an exaggeration. I also admitted that my first statement was inaccurate by acknowledging that there are a few exceptions. White and Black both suffer the same problems that Lime and Pink have, "Over-saturation". White is particularly bad in bright lighting and its also over-saturated and hides most detailing, such as light brushstrokes, in much the same way that Black, Lime, and Pink also do. White, Black, Lime, and Pink may look good on a few items here and there but you can't deny that they are all bad paints. They are poor color choices that need tweaking, all 4 are as expensive as hell, in addition to being the most ironically used paint colors in the game. There might be a few exceptions here and there, but they are bad. Valve needs to update the rgb values, de-saturate them, and make them less painfully bright. To argue that white is a good paint is essentially the same as arguing that lime and pink are also okay. Feel free to continue to argue that I'm wrong, but all you've done is convince me that you don't like to be wrong in much the same way that you are accusing me.
It's almost as if people have different opinions and tastes.
Tried making a faux-engie loadout for pyro, thought it went pretty well: Though I already know the aperture labs hardhat would have a better result than the Lo-fi. Bonus points for having a semi-rare hat I guess.
Kibble, I'm not going to waste my time with your moving goalposts. You said white paint never looks good. I demonstrated that wasn't true, and you even admitted that there are exceptions. End of story. I don't care if you were "exaggerating", because that was exactly my point - what you said wasn't true, and I said so. With that out of the way, I'm not here to talk about any other aspect of white paint. You can't drag me into a separate argument that I never made. This discussion is over. I tried to be polite, I tried to be reasonable, and you're just continuing to move goalposts, erect strawmen, and engage in ad hominem attacks. It's hostile and unproductive. The next time you act this way toward me I will permanently set you to ignore. I'd really rather not, but if you can't play nice, then I see no other recourse. /resume thread
welcome to the team fortress 2 section on facepunch, where we argue about paints and hats. have a nice stay.
Imagine getting mad about the colors of hats in a video game. Here's a boat party medic. [t]http://i.imgur.com/iQJIvJM.jpg[/t]
