Linux binaries for servers have never not worked.
Really? How long have they been available? I used to run a TF2C server back in the day and there never was any Linux binaries that I was aware of. IIRC it was something I often asked about in the old threads.
No but seriously, I've been trying to play Medic in Team Fortress 2 Classic and without crit-heals, Medic is absolutely terrible to play. Crit-heals are a vital game mechanic for Medic, a day 1 TF2 feature that was developed to prevent people from throwing themselves into death instead of rotating back for heals.
You can read the TF2 blog post about it here.
TF2 Classic has many great ideas, but missing such a vital feature that's been present since day 1 of TF2, especially one that's so key to how Medic is played, is a huge mistake. Is there a reason crit-heals aren't present in TF2C right now? Will they be implemented in the future?

I have just tested healing amounts and crit heals are there and working fine. So it's either something about the server you're playing on or you're doing something wrong because removing crit heals was never even considered.
We recently ran some polls on whether or not we should be totally transparent about how we make this game. The results were, that we should keep some things secret and others not. However, this was very hard for us to do, since every of our major changes were listed on a public github. In response to that and recent events, we have moved the source code of the game into a private repository. This will ensure, that the contributions made by our coding team will stay secure until we announce them.
For 95% of people this is not a relevant change and you won't feel any impact, except for us being more productive.
EDIT: Since quite a few people were interested in fancy new shading techniques, I did a bit of prototyping on SSAO, here's a WIP for you:

Rad made a 4-team payload race map. It didn't have a real name so when I put it on my server REDchanit I named it plr_downfall
It's pretty good. Uploading it here with his permission since I don't think he has a Facepunch account.
Apologies for using Mediafire but I don't know of anything better:

Healing ramp-up and crit heals still doesn't work for me. Weird.

It would be great if you made a video showing it off

I really hope the official servers come back up, maybe a community map rotation is in order.
So for some reason my launch options for tf2c has stopped working..
I think I just updated my steam client as well, but I don't see why that would do anything, unless steam has screwed up somehow. Kinda weird though as it doesn't seem to be happening to my other games.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
My launch options are "-game tf2classic -console -noborder -height 1080 -width 1920 -windowed -port 27021 -novid" Could be a typo even, it's pretty late for me. I've checked multiple times though
Edit: Also note that these were working perfectly fine the last time I played, and I'm pretty sure I didn't change them afterwards
It would be great if you made a video showing it off
Sure, why not. Here's an unedited recording of a single round on the map:

Interesting gameplay for sure. How the fuck did you miss those shots at 2:18?
That map seems like a bit of a clusterfuck with all the tracks and spawns so close together, but what can you really expect with a 4 team payload race. Good to finally see some new 4 team maps anyway though. Looking forward to seeing the progress on it

Recording cuts my frames from 200 to 30, making gameplay choppy causing most weapons to be harder to aim with.

No need for excuses, just messing :v:
Still hoping on getting some help on my previous question. Really wanted to play some tf2c tonight

Launch parameters stopped working for me as well, it affects all Source mods. I can definitely tell you it was caused by the latest Steam update.

Alright, thanks a lot!
Do you have any idea if there is another way to do the -noborders parameter? Like edit some cfg or something? Cuz my game has a hard time running above 60 fps when running in fullscreen, and everything is a little slower for some reason
Anyways, good to know it's not just some idiot screwup on my side

You can make a launch script or shortcut that just invokes the SDK base hl2.exe with a -game parameter pointing to your tf2classic directory, and then just add your normal launch options after that.

You need to add -steam parameter, too, when launching manually.
Much like plr_hightower, plr_downfall eventually turns into an endless TDM with some wacky shit going on because nobody gives a damn about the carts.

Espionage related content?!
Out of boredom I made some GRN versions of the class portraits, and tried to make some decent Civilian and Mercenary ones:

Am I the only one to think that the "3.14152965481548243" under the "////TOP SECRET////" is or a cultural reference or some kind of hint given to us?
If someone found something, please share!
