Running a dedicated server for a mod is just a little more complicated than running it for an official game. You have to download app 244310 (Source SDK Base 2013 Dedicated Server) through SteamCMD then stick your tf2classic folder into the folder with srcds.exe and run it like any other server. Additionally, you can reduce the size of the server by deleting the whole sound folder and all VTF files from tf2classic folder.

Thank you! The app id was all I really needed.
Not sure what's the deal, but I downloaded the Beta 4 7zip file onto the server and unpacked it and ended up with like 800 files/folders? I don't have nearly that much when extracting the file on my personal computer. Not sure wtf is happening here.
EDIT: Went ahead and made my own zip of the files and uploaded them to my server since I believe P7zip is the issue here. Got everything on there now but when I try and start the server it quits with the below output. Any ideas?

If you look a few pages back you'll find an explanation of me for someone who had the exact same issue.

Henchman model doesn't exist yet. The Rad is working on a fanmade one in the meantime and it's coming along nicely in my opinion.
Pretty sure Frame Factory is OneFourth, who is a developer, so he has access to the Scientist model. As far as I know, the Scientist model is done, but he doesn't have facial flexes or finger bones yet. The other classes were likely removed from the wiki because Espionage is going to be a seperate game for Source 2.

Ah thanks! Welp, looks like the server is working fine if anyone wants to hop on. It's located in NY, USA. Not sure what settings people like or the maps, so now it's just all stock. Looking for suggestions. I'll have to figure out a proper name for it and fine tune it once everyone chimes in. For now I'm just going to call it the Facepunch Server. If any of the old official server admin's want adminship on this server let me know. I'm currently working on getting sourcemod/metamod installed. Also if there was any configuration preferences you can toss my way, I'd appreciate it.

I am trying to make a server where I can edit character stats without people getting blocked by "wrong version of the game" or something, basically as a fun server for my friends and I to screw around on. I have seen some guides, but none of them have really helped.

You need a SourceMod plugin rather than directly editing.

Also, anyone know of a plugin that keeps track of traffic to a server? So far it seems like maybe 3 people play this game lol. It would be nice to track this data to see if it's worth even hosting any more servers.

I don't think TF2 is gonna be ported to source2 sadly so it's better to have the game as a spin off in the same universe but not part of the same game.
It could have its own steam page and would be standalone.

This was the issue I had. All this stuff seems great and all and then I start up the game and zero players.

We do have a Steam Group that is basically meant to alert people of a TF2C get-together, could use that to get people.
