If you wait around long enough on a server during weekends or later in a weekday people eventually pour in and sometimes you can get 24 people (or more if the server allows 24+).

Concerning the civilian. would the civilian having a Gun umbrella primary, Shield secondary from the umbrella and umbrella melee be alright?

(Nor should it be changed, in my opinion. Giving the Civilian any kind of weapon would undermine the point of him being a defenseless character in need of escorting.)

I am asking for a Something that is both a primary a shield and a melee, and of course it would not be OP, becuase the Civilian would use that to scare off someone not a one hit kill.

Two problems though: It can't seem to accept replacing Engineer with Civilian as the, y'know, Civilian. The other problem is that we can't get the vip_hunted map the sourcemod plugin was made to work with since the plugin was abandoned in 2008 and the creators of the Hunted mod never publicly released the map, which is a real pain. It's supposed to work with payload maps but for some reason it doesn't recognize them in TF2Classic. If anyone here has the vip_hunted map that the Sourcemod Hunted plugin uses, please share it.

The unofficial sourcemod-based VIP Hunted mode works almost perfectly on my server. Just played a bunch of rounds of it with 13 other people. It's fun but RED can't defend too well when snipers, spies and pyros are against soldiers, medics, heavies and the best class ever: Civilian. You can play it on my server (68.186.58.118:27016), just !nominate vip_hunted_f2 and rtv to try it out. Just use a freakin' texture pack. Speaking of Civilian, it bugged me how he doesn't have a leaderboard icon other than a missing texture. (TF2Classic Beta has one for him that looks like a purple mushroom, but not the current update) I went and made my own, works perfectly. The umbrella icon was made by 404, I think. It's just from a random pack of class emblems I found, cut out of the emblem circle and given a shadow. Nobody ever plays it, and I feel that it could be used for a better purpose. When people get TF2C, they do it for 4teams and DM, not TF2 as it was before things we take for granted now, like hauling and airblast. I mean, I don't think I've ever seen anybody get on this server since it was changed. I propose that this server is turned back into a Control Points server, playing the attack/defense and push rotation that it used to have before it was changed into the unused vanilla server. Or maybe you guys could think of something else to do with it, I'm just some shit suggesting shit.

I've seen people play on it a good few times, myself included. I think it's essential to a mod called Team Fortress 2 [B]Classic[/B] to have an official server that lives up to the "Classic" bit, since a sizable portion of the playerbase just wants to return to Orange Box TF2. If the VF4 one gets changed there's always my stock only server, which has 36 reserve ammo for the rocket launcher and the old pistol fire rate. Also, has anyone noticed this slight oversight with the ammo bucket icons before? The grenade and sticky launchers block the stickybomb counter, lol. If that's not the point I don't know what is, but it is a neat feature.

Sorry to nitpick about performance, and I'm sure you've noticed this, but the ammo bucket icons also seem to cause a slight stagger in framerate when game "sees" them for the first time. It's kind of like when you use "Fast weapon switching", but press the slot10 key to see all your weapon icons. The issue persists in "normal" TF2, too, beneath Valve's crazy codebase. Do you think you could cache all of a client's weapon icons sooner- like when they spawn as a new class- if it's not a pain to do? It might be a bigger issue for DM mode with all of the pickups and such. I also have a short question, and I haven't been here since February, so it might come off as dumb. When the beta phase is further along or complete, will there be an easy guide on running a dedicated Linux server on the site/wiki? The links and details for that were kind of cumbersome to hunt down on pastebin/github, and I can imagine some hosts feeling bad after they realize there was a guide for SDK2013 buried right under their noses.
