Hi everyone, i was going through old posts and I found this : [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39556064/concepts/Characters/GenericMercs3Teir4.jpg[/t] I just wanted to know if the idea of a Light and a Heavy Merc was 100% scrapped, I might do something with this if nobody's working on it

I guess that making a light, medium or heavy model of all classes would be strange. Having a bulky scout or a skinny heavy would be crazy. Or even a skinny scout and an enormous heavy. But having different sizes for the DM, if they are balanced in game (different health and speed), would be very interesting. Thats reminds me the deathmatch in time splitters. There was somewhere a light DM WIP model in some facepunch post, I found it here: [url]https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1464987&page=93[/url] . Anyway, i think that is currently abandoned work. About the heavy DM, noone has started to work it, but there is a black heavy model of the 1850 team fortress mod, i think that it would be an interesting starting point. Lastly, it would be nice to have a female deathmatch mercenay, IMHO. At least for the source videos.

If we were to add that and another TS (timesplitters) or classic shooter aspect, I would love the weapon pool system (Half Life 2, having the giant amount of weapons.)

Should just be a toggle-able display option. [editline]20th November 2016[/editline] If just displaying the torso is your problem. It might be bodygroups. Are all the bodygroups enabled?

You'd need the [url=https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Blender_Source_Tools]Blender Source Tools[/url] to load it properly.

Each body part is a bodygroup. The mercenary was designed this way so if the team needed to (and it was a concept they had at the time), the mercenary would be easy to provide different cosmetic changes for if necessary. This does not mean the merc is getting any cosmetic changes at all; so for those whom are thinking that, this is [B]not[/B] the case.
