It would be interesting though to see a weapon with a CSGO silencer mechanic (not necessarily a silencer, but same concept). Basically, alt fire would detach/attach something to the weapon and change how it works a bit.
Any thoughts on an Oddball mode for Deathmatch? For those unfamiliar with it, Oddball is a game mode that originated with Marathon and was later tweaked/reused in Halo. It's a sort of a mobile KOTH where a "ball" spawns in the map. Each player or team has a counter and the objective is to hold the ball until your counter runs out. If I recall, it's 2 minutes, but of course that can always be adjusted. When the player holds the ball, the ball replaces their weapon. I think in Halo it was adjusted so that the ball can be used as a strong melee attack to help with the fact that you are so vulnerable without your ranged weaponry. The Oddball was a skull, worth mentioning. Probably fitting for the Merc's personality.
Reminds me of a teamless murderball.
Don't know who I'd contact for in this sense, but if the team needs any textures, be it map textures or model textures, I'd be willing to help. Though I'm more interested in possibly writing voicelines, if that's needed at all.
Speaking of cool stuff Bang's made, TF2C is a perfect excuse to do something with these beauties. I want to say the Rayzar could be something like the Amplifier plugin, which adds an unupgradeable dispenser replacement that gives nearby teammates minicrits, but I've never seen that on a non-VSH server and have no idea how well balanced it is.
Is this an exuss to talk about the Rayzar? Alright! As you can guess from the name, the original idea was some sort of enemy detection. Here's a full write up of possible gameplay ideas I had... Option 1: Radar Sweep Enemy detection by Outlines The Rayzar would outline enemy players and buildings within a specific range around the building. The range would be fairly large, but not the size of an entire map (just enough to be useful). Rather than constantly outlining the movement of enemies, the Rayzar would only show still enemy positions that would get refreshed every 10 seconds or so (just like an actually radar sweep). The outlines will gradually fade, so new updates are recognizable and to avoid cluttering the players view. The refresh rate could increase with the number of Rayzars built, which would make stacking Rayzars more useful. The spy should undetectable by the Rayzar. An icon could be displayed on the player’s HUD, notifying them they are in range of being tracked. The Icon could blink each time their position is tracked. This could allow players to counter the Rayzar by setting traps using their old position as bait. You may want to give the Rayzar some dispensing ability still, though. You could balance this by a variety of negative traits such as… Reducing the dispensing rate (especial metal), Lower the building heath, Increased vulnerable to sappers Decreased player health The building or player is outlined to enemies decreased effectiveness by damage Ammo and health require refilling by metal consumption Option 2: Radar Sweep Enemy detection by HUD Same as option one, but the data would be displayed in a HUD instead of using outlines. Option 3: Ranged Dispenser The Rayzar could have improved dispensing ranged at a cost (see list of negative stat ideas above). Option 4: Shield Generator The dispenser could produce a shield around itself protecting allies from damage. This dispenser could have faster rebuild speed to make it more effective as well as no hauling speed debuff. An increased vulnerability to sappers (along with other downgrades) might be a good fit for this idea, but see the full list of negative stat ideas above.
I know this is a really minor suggestion, but have you devs thought using the same Yellow and Green chat colors from TFC for TF2 Classic? I think they'll fit more, also Valve did the same thing for Red and Blue chat colors in live TF2. See what I mean:
Reminds me of a teamless murderball.
Seems pretty similar! However, I am unable to find footage of the player holding the ball or defined rules that says if your weapons are disabled while holding the ball. In any case, I would say Murderball and Oddball are very similar game modes. More close in gameplay than say PASS Time which is more similar to general CTF. I am still amused by the idea of the Mercenary being nuts enough to play a sport around holding a human skull.
I am still amused by the idea of the Mercenary being nuts enough to play a sport around holding a human skull.
I like the idea of the Mercenary being even more money obsessed than the other mercs and using a giant diamond. Or a Crystal Skull.
Or a Crystal Skull.
Invasion for TF2C confirmed? No? Back to my corner I go!

That reminds me. Did anyone go about making a color blind mode for 4 teams? My boyfriend showed me the common types of colorblind-ness on his phone, as it can replicate it in the new android version and yellow and green looked exactly the same.
ive been having an idea for DM model, a last resort style weapon for all classesm, say when all your ammo is out, you have 1 last weapon to use, its a 6 ammo weapon,or the idea say like sudden death in DM, insted all players are stripped to the "last resort" weapon, so everyone has a change to get atleast 1 kill to end the round :P, this is just a random dea i had, im open to thoughts on it

:/, thats a bit harsh, i have not done anything wrong
please stop with these awful ideas of yours.
Seriously, that's just mean at best. He's entitled to tell you his ideas even if you don't particularly like them
please stop with these awful ideas of yours.
nice job immediately jumping to hostility and not actually explaining why the idea is bad/good
I like the idea of the Mercenary being even more money obsessed than the other mercs and using a giant diamond. But really, having the object be a sort of artifact would explain the possibility of having some sort of healing factor or other boosts while holding it as a trade-off of having no ranged weaponry.

Like, imagine instead of points gained from holding it or a timer going down, it counted money for holding it longer. Richest guy wins the artifact, briefcase of money, or whatever the gamemode would be centered around.
What is the dev team's stance on the Guard Dog (a class, background character etc.)? I remember somebody bringing it up in the first thread, but I couldn't find the page(s) it was discussed on.

I remember we had some ideas for colorblind mode for a game I worked on. The teams were green and red, and later on someone joined the development team with green-red colorblindness so we settled on an idea for a mode where your team mates and certain objectives would have a specific outline (probably inverting colors within the outline e.g. Minecraft's crosshair) Not sure if this could allow for easier team distinction during the 4-team modes, but I think it could work with basic 2-team gamemodes.

It's still planned as a SFM / GMOD model instead of a TF2C model. ( But who knows what we'll change later? )

For someones suggestion of weapons with suppressors: One for Scout: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=390535238 And two for spy: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=6846 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=269037564 What would work for some other classes that do not have new weapons? Not Suppressors for them, but you know what would work for them. Also what about the grenades?
On colorblind; have symbols similar to the jarate/milk symbols in live TF2 that shows shapes on top of the player? Square for red, Circle for blue, Triangle for Yellow, Star/Diamond for Green?
Has the whole hacking thing been fixed? I can't seem to download the game at all. I really want to play it. :C

(I'm kidding, of course. Well, slightly.)
