Why not Lambda Fortress?
perfect name
Team Lambda? Or does that go to the production team?
team life 2: decent on breen?
Half life 2 coop :team fortress edition
Getting back onto TF2C, will Espionage only be BLU infiltrating RED, or will it vary depending on the map?
I have a question, are we actually going to get an m16 like in this promotional art? or not? [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/710781191337803176/7E42FA3E29316C6E4FC21A8D02BB91081698C502/[/t]

I think it's called the Fruit Shop Somethingorother. edit: here it is on gamebanana
iirc, that weapon is an SMG someone made for Sniper ages ago. I think it's called the Fruit Shop Somethingorother.
Fruit Shop Fiend I think.
Earlier in this thread,I asked about the Assault rifles as a secondary for the Soldier and/or Deathmatch only weapon. Some declared it "too boring" for TF2 and TF2C. I also asked about shotgun for Demo as a grenade launcher loadout option, asked about grenades, and some magazine fed shotguns. And the Lead Pipe. Although I think that there could be some interesting things in this awesome mod, we shall see what happens when it happens.
I wouldn't be against an assault rifle for death-match. The merc is designed to be really generic so a generic military gun might work.
What about an assault rifle that resembles the M16A1 (or maybe the A2) with TF2 size/adjustments and artstyle? Most of the games uses that gun for the generic "Assault Rifle", so it might work for deathmatch. Not to mention it was one of the icons of 60's, which is the time setting of TF2.
Why not Lambda Fortress?

perfect name
12 Winner votes, I guess Lambda Fortress it is. Although Team Fortress: A RED Letter Day sounds really nice but it's less informative.

It's an iconic weapon that was still used in the 60s (tho not as often as in WW2 ofc), easily recognisable from a gameplay point of view and fits in tf2's chunky wood and steel style [editline]22nd September 2015[/editline] I imagne it would look similar to Battlefield Heroes' tommy gun , though I would prefer the stock to be higher, unless that would cause clipping issues.
Kibbleknight made a tommygun concept, no idea what happened to it
A Thompson could work well statwise too. It needs to be substantially different from the Sten gun; a Thompson with a drum magazine would work well for a weapon with less DPS but a ginormous clip, compared to the Sten's heavy damage and smallish clip. Obviously, it doesn't have to be a Thompson to have those stats and could just as easily be an M16 or a monkey strapped to a fish, but a Thompson would work well to suggest the stats of the weapon at a glance.
I prefer my weapons to be a little "over the top" and break away from the boring "REAL2LIFE Mosin-Nagant". You'd basically turn TF2c into Counter-Strike for me if you did that. Some semblance of real weaponry is fine, but do it along the quirkiness of TF2's weaponry.

The stock weapons are all "almost a real gun but not quite" (except the imaginary ones), and usually have features from a couple guns. The shotgun is a combination of a Remington and an Ithaca, the SMG is a heavily modified version of some British SMG iirc, and so on. The Sten we've got in the mod isn't really a Sten, it looks like a Sten gun with elements from a Sterling SMG and a bit of imagination. edit: i.e if we wanted a WWII rifle it would be best to take parts of a Lee Enfield, a Mosin Nagant, and whatever else looks good, and smash them together If we want SMG with big clip, could take the best parts of all the different Thompson models and any similar guns, and make something new with them
the SMG is a heavily modified version of the MAT-49 iirc
ftfy
when is tf2 classic beta test gonna be released
when is tf2 classic beta test gonna be released
:why:
What about an assault rifle that resembles the M16A1 (or maybe the A2) with TF2 size/adjustments and artstyle? So if you wanted the true 60s variant you would in theory model the smoothed out stock and barrel. However in most cases it would still be described as "That one weird M16 that's all smooth", because a large amount of players don't know gun history. Also, a lot of people I know who are WWII buffs don't seem to realize the Garand was replaced by the M14, and that was replaced by the M16. EDIT: If you want a nam/60s era weapon you could try the Stoner 63
