Them lightmaps, I ain't a master mapper but that looks like some spot on shit. Though that also means Wiseau is going to be like 50 megabytes

Those visuals are so good they almost look like official game artwork.
I love all of the visuals in TF2C, they look so much better than the ones in TF2. Just look at the pistol when you fire it. Look at the beta muzzle flashes. even the menu. the TF2C team did a super great job on the game.
I favorited a server back when 2.0 was on the upcoming thing, and I found something about VF4's things.
While the main thing is down, knowing a server's IP address seems to allow you to bypass the fucked server finder.

The Issue is The Team is a bunch of jerks. I've tried talking with devs, tried to explain something me and other people are working on, and just generally tried to be with them. Yet, all they have done the whole time is either them laughing or them just generally being unpleasant.
I'm not trying to be negative or crude but just saying. You guys can be more optimistic to us.

They laugh at you because your efforts and idea is mediocre at best. You can't combine the gameplay aspects of TF2 and CS. They're two totally different games that belong in their own world and work differently. You can try to make it work, but no one wants to participate because it's a botched idea from the start.

Not to be rude, but with what you've shown of the mod you're working on... it looks like you've just ported over weapons from other Source games(without even retexturing them?) and made pretty bad looking retextures of CSS maps.
It's only slightly better than an ideas-guy mod concept, but even then it's still only slightly better.
You should stop trying to get people to help you with it, or showing it off, until you actually have something good to show off. Until then it's just gonna be smirked at.

It's a community driven version of TF2 instead of Valve developing it

You're getting TF2C and another fan made mod mixed up.
TF2C is 2007 TF2 balanced, patched up and developed closely following original valve guidelines (strict art style for instance), with some Beta content and some totally original stuff (see : mercenary) sprinkled on top

I don't know who else you've talked to but if you're talking about me trying to give you constructive criticism then I'm sorry for upsetting you. Nobody on the team that I know of has laughed at you. We want to see your mod survive because it will benefit us as well as you down the line.

We're nothing like CS, TcChallenger's mod (of our mod) is aiming for CS gameplay with a TF2 theme. At the moment we're going for Q3 / UT style deathmatch mode within the TF2 world as LittleBabyman said.
I just gotta say I love everything about this mod. It's perfect and you guys are doing a fantastic job.
I wish I could lend my graphic design skills and offer to make update pages/ads/logos/whatever for this but I'm swamped with college work.
But yeah I really hope this mod is successful. Keep it up folks

Yo, someone make a dm_watergate, with the ufo dropping or respawining weapons or the mercenaries.
This would make the first halloween map for TF2C
I was recently directed to the Github for this game by a friend, as he found some edits to the localization files. I don't want to sound all nosy, and I know these maps may not be final, but can we get some community map love. Like, I like the majority of the maps picked, but I think we should get a bit more diverse with our maps, maybe replace some of the Valve maps on the list. Most of the people here are ones that have played hundreds of hours of TF2, and have played some of these maps over and over and over and over again. I think some of us would enjoy seeing variation in our choices. I mean, this is a Community driven TF2, so why not get some community in here?
First map I think people wouldn't miss too much would be Barnblitz. I've always felt the chokey design of the map wasn't very fun, and that last point is a turtle heaven. I find the map to just be a slog through RED's increasingly turtley defenses, culminating in BLU spending about 5 minutes to push through the final base.
Why not replace Barnblitz with [URL="http://tf2maps.net/resources/cashworks.42/"]Cashworks[/URL]? I've always enjoyed Cashworks not only for it's visuals, but also for it's surprisingly fun gameplay.
Next up is King. I love King's theme, it's an amazing Soho map, and it perfectly does the Urban theme within TF2. Then, you get to the gameplay, and King falls apart. King feels like an Arena map, there are a ton of pathways, and a good chunk of them don't even take you towards the point. Of course, for a KOTH map, which should get people to go to the point, this is bad. I think what surprises me the most is the fact that it is currently the only KOTH map on the list.
Instead of King, why don't you guys put [URL="http://tf2maps.net/resources/arctic.33/"]Artic[/URL] in it's place? Artic is a much simpler map in layout, and it directs players towards the point. Not only that, it also has a Snow Night theme, which is executed very well through the map. Is King prettier? Perhaps, but I'd take fun gameplay over some nice looking apartments anyday.
As for another KOTH map, you could perhaps do [URL="http://tf2maps.net/resources/skyward.38/"]Skyward[/URL]. Skyward is a Foundry themed map created STAR_'s contest, and it's pretty damn good. Fun gameplay with an awesome theme makes Skyward quite a fun map. I'd recommend it anyday to anyone really.
I know this isn't a new map, but I don't think anybody would miss the Control Points version of Well. It's clunky, slow, and has an AWFUL 2nd point. There are very few maps I could say have a worse design then cp_well. The last is also far too open, and Mid only gives you 2 ways of pushing within it without being a jumping class. Well's detailing and theme also leaves something to be desired, with it mostly being just industrial buildings and pretty much nothing else. No dirt, grass, or anything within the level. (there is some grass in the skybox though). It's just not too interesting of a level to look at, and is not a fun one to play on. The CTF version is a lot better jsut to the fact that you don't have to capture that 2nd point.
Replacement? Easy, [URL="http://tf2maps.net/resources/sunshine.47/"]Sunshine[/URL] Sunshine is a very popular map, not only for it's fun gameplay, but for it's awesome detailing. Hell, some of the Bulletcrops pack is already within TF2C anyways. Sunshine has seen a lot of recognition, and I think it would go well with this game.
I know people won't agree with me on all of these (particully Barnblitz, as I know some people like that map quite a bit.). I'm sorry for making a boring ass wall of text about something people probably don't care much for, but I just wanted to throw my two cents in. Whether these maps are considered for this game or not, I'm fine playing whatever the Devs can throw out to us.
So, what do you guys think?
The problem with this is that we need to acquire permission to distribute it with our client, and a lot of these maps have custom content that we need to acquire additional permission to use.
We do already have some custom maps in our client, but they haven't seen much light-of-day since most people seem to enjoy playing 4 team gamemodes and deathmatch more.
EDIT: Don't get me wrong though, the team (myself included) would love to ship more community maps with the game.
