I have recently made this map with the construction theme pack from tf2maps.net: http://construction.tf2maps.net/index.html and I want to port it to tf2classic. Whats the folder to install the construction theme pack in? -snip-
I personally think that your map is severely under detailed. Not to mention looks relatively basic geometry wise. However mapping is appreciated. I do like the lighting and overall theme that is conveyed. For the construction map I'd try the custom folder since that's loaded with TF2C content on start. If it doesn't show up in Hammer just dump them into the respective models and materials folders with the base content. Also use [ t ] [ /t ] tags next time (no spaces). Good luck on yer map.
Its my first real map.
Its my first real map.
wow nice so far hope to see it fleshed out in the future with a skybox and some outside areas and some close quarters areas like the insides of a building
Did you use the swamp pack on dm_venice
So far I've only used a few props that were integrated into live tf2, and consequently tf2c

When it's finished I'll push the second release version for y'all to mess around on. Also, that park I showed early desperately needs lighting, and at least where I come from parks usually rely on natural light, and thus have no lamps in them at night; so if you have a way to light it up do tell.

I've sen a bunch of different things from different angles but I don't know the overall scale? How big are dm maps supposed to be?
I have just 3 questions out of curiosity 1. are people aloud to play the game? (like the developers see that the shouldn't play it(I think at least)) 2. can I still play the game? (if I download it and do the beta_test method) 3. what is the latest version of the game? (I no its in 2.0.0 but what beta is it(for example 2.0.0 beta1.7))
the developers highly recommend that we do not play the game yes you can still play it, it's possible first beta release of 2.0.0
the developers highly recommend that we do not play the game yes you can still play it, it's possible first beta release of 2.0.0
what is then that what the developers are so worried about?
the server list, you need to directly connect to the server with an ip address
the server list, you need to directly connect to the server with an ip address
to be very honest, I don't see the problem in that as it is easy to at a ip to the server browser :speechless: then you join the server and then when you quit the server you at it to your favourites. or can't you add it to your favourites? (because in the server browser there's a tap called history)

What does it look like if you make it bigger so it loops less?

We can't tell everyone to add a shitload of servers to their favourites... It should be the mod that deals with that.
The master server blocks outdated servers from being added to the list. We can't tell everyone to add a shitload of servers to their favourites... i play tf2 classic with a friend and we tested coping the steam.inf from the source sdk 2013 multiplayer base to the mod folder and its works but if you connect to a server without the steam.inf file, you will get an error of version

Hopefully I'm just being stupid and copying the wrong file or something, since a Github... person said that said method worked. Small idea though: why don't we just code our own server browser while we wait for the bug to be fixed?
So what you're saying is that if TF2C for an example includes the steam.inf file, and the SRCDS package includes it too, all is working like normal?
This "should" work, i am not pretty sure i only tested if i get the console msg of "master server request: your server need to be restarted to get the last update" i dont get any message and my friend also dont get any message
How is Dm_Repo going? i love the idea of driving around, even though it might not be in the final thing, but it seems like a cool idea
Copying steam.inf from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer\hl2 And placing it into: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\tf2classic Has allowed me to use the server browser and connect to a server.

Server owners have to do the same thing. At this point in time we have no plans of relaunching the beta.
So we need to switch to beta_test again?
You were never supposed to switch away from 'beta_test' in the first place.
