Valve DID fix the exploits. They pushed their latest Source 2013 changes to the beta testing branch.
Why would the tf2classic team put the steam.inf in the tf2classic folder if the exploit has been fixed?

The tf2classic team fixed the source sdk base 2013 server browser exploit by copying the steam.inf file from the source sdk base 2013 multiplayer folder to the tf2classic folder. If the exploit was fixed by valve themseleves the file is no longer required.
guys let me handle this

The server browser issue was never an exploit, but a bug related to the non-visibility of servers in the in-game server browser.

I just want to know why the steam.inf file is still in the tf2classic folder did you forget to remove it or is the bug still not fixed?
Why would the tf2classic team put the steam.inf in the tf2classic folder if the exploit has been fixed?
steam.inf is just an info file to state the build version, game name, and appid
end of conversation
Ik zal mijn doodnormale vraag dan maar aan een dev vragen
Answer from thirteen: no, 2 or 3 months ago they said it'd be fixed by november of 2015. Its now january 2016.
Well tf2classic website is down...
I'll wrap up this little bit of confusion: The exploit regarding malicious files being distributed has been patched by Valve and was pushed to the beta_test branch. It's gone and isn't coming back. Play and install the game as much as you like, there's nothing to worry about. And MaartenS11, Theuaredead covers the steam.inf matter rather well. Mind you the reason why we are using this steam.inf in particular is because previously TF2C went unrecognized by the master server list. Said steam.inf fixes things for now.

The Steam.inf has absolutely nothing to do with the malicious exploit and is a completely unrelated matter.
Hey so we're running a small feedback survey for the current beta, you can find it here. We're trying to gather more complete data on players' opinions of our developments so we would very much appreciate it if you filled this out.

Add the Sandvich, the Sandvich makes a heavy even more useful
If an explanation is still needed:
The bug in question is an exploit used to spread malware through sound-sprays. This bug has been fixed by Valve, but they've currently pushed their changes to the beta test branch. Therefore, you would have to opt into the beta testing branch of the Source 2013 MP base in order to fix the exploit.
However, if you were to switch your Source 2013 MP base to the beta test branch, a side problem would occur: Team Fortress 2 Classic would not be able to list servers in the server browser. This is where steam.inf comes in.
Placing the patched steam.inf into the TF2 Classic folder fixes the server browser issue. It doesn't fix the sound-spray exploit, that was already fixed in the beta-test branch of Source 2013.
I don't like playing TF2C because most of the time there are only 2 people on the non dm servers, the only non dm server in the US which has a lot of people is the micspam cancer server
Add the Sandvich, the Sandvich doesnt makes a heavy even more useful
I'm not too fond of giving the Heavy the Sandvich, especially as in my eyes, it doesn't really fit the older TF2 aesthetic.
It's a less, "serious weapon," and the Sandvich kinda outclasses the Shotgun in a way, as being able to restore yourself to full health, extinguish teammates, and such overextends from the Heavy's primary role of soaking, dealing, and distracting damage.
New weapons should change a playstyle without changing the role or abilities of a class too far I think.
Hey how come the website is down?

Only after construction did the company realize they wouldn't get any wind if the trees were taller than the turbines. Thus the place was abandoned and the DM mercs moved in.

Our host, VaultF4, is having issues. It'll be back up when they sort it out. We're not sure what the cause of the outage is.
Most likely, no. This mod uses leaked code, so I doubt Valve will allow it, even though they gave the okay to let it exist.
what weapon do you recommend?
Missing Information got greenlit a few months ago.
Pretty sure MI has its code built from the ground up instead of using leak code, could be wrong though.
what weapon do you recommend?
Things such as the Direct Hit, the Gunboats, and Scottish Resistance are fine, as they still keep the primary playstyle of the class intact without over extending their roles or making the role of another class obsolete in a way (Demoknight Pyro)
Additionally, "silly" weapons like Jarate or the KGB should stay out or have their stats implemented in some other way (Example, the KGB could have the look of the Fists of Steel or be the lead pipe or something)

If live TF2 weapons are added, will they get new models or are they going to use the models from TF2?
