we need to work out a system on linking to people. because if everyone goes after the guy at the same time hes less likely to sell. so you should call dibs and whoever gets it first 2nd 3rd and so on. like a line, so as to not overwhelm the guy with requests and make him back away.

Pink Taco aren't really much of a hoarder.
The only thing he "hoard" is vintage hats, which he aren't really hoarding to an extreme extend. Hoarding applies when it's a limited edition item people can't get again, so even if he had a million unusuals, he wouldn't be a hoarder.

That would be the true definition, but in TF2 it's for the most part used when people hoard promos.

Actually, I usually just join, open the screen that shows all the players, leave, and then go through.
That way they won't see the trade in the chat (only his part) and the server won't explode.
Any my chat is usually more like:
Me: Hey.
Them: what do you want
Me: I was wondering if I could offer you something for your _____
Them: What u offer???
Me: Well, I can offer you a hat or two (I usually only offer hats if it's buds or something large value), or I can give you a few weapons. Is there something you're looking for in particular?
Now, at this point they'll either say "do you have ____" "hats only" or "what weapons would you offer".
First scenario, if you have that item, you better fucking put it down for trade. That's almost always a sincher, and plus you're giving him what he wants.
If you don't have the item, say "Sorry, I don't, but I have lots of other weapons" or if you're willing to go the extra mile say "No, but I can get one" (which is when you immediately beg to your friend's list for said item or go to a trading server).
Second scenario, they usually won't haggle. You offer a few hats, plain and simple.
Third scenario, put down the newest/most interesting looking weapons you have, and say "Any of this interest you?".
Usually by then they've seen something they like or you've at least gotten their interest.
Them: the _____ please
-You put up the ______-
-He puts up the ______-
Me: Thank ya kindleh.
Them: np ty you too
Then, sit with your new item.
And if you're me, go trade it for Steam games. I've gotten Dragon Age Ultimate, CoD4, and I'm about to get Global Agenda, all via this method.
